for Amalgamated Press. He created the character
"Freddie Frog" and illustrated that character strip
in "Jack and Gill" from 1954 to 1969. He also
illustrated the immensely popular strip "The Wind
in the Willows", reviving "Mr Toad" 1959, a
character he drew for almost 25 years. He was
known worldwide for his illustrations in
newspapers, magazines and books. He died in
Bermuda where he was working for the island's
Royal Gazette.
