Sonu Nigam, Sukhwinder give
musical tribute to Sarabjit

Chauhan and others gave a special
musical tribute to Sarabjit Singh at an
event here. The singers came together
on one stage to perform their respective
songs from the film “Sarbjit”, based on
the Indian convict. Sonu, who recently
underwent a knee surgery, sang the song
“Dard” from the film along with composer
Jeet Ganguly. Sandeep Singh, the producer
of “Sarbjit”, said the singer was in extreme
pain while recording the song due to his
knee surgery which he had undergone
days before giving his voice to the track.

The Dirty Picture and has recently released Azhar, said that
all the films that he does are not just for box office. Emraan
believes that: “Sometimes you have got to do small films where your
role is performance driven”. “Actors always test themselves with
something new and try to do something new, something that they
have not done before. It is one thing to do it to keep your kitchen
running and another thing to be satisfied, pat yourself on the back and
say that you have done something challenging, coming out of your
comfort zone,” Emraan told media. “An actor has to be always up for
that. Everything is not just about box office, sometimes you have got
to do these small films where your role is performance driven. Like
I did Shanghai. It was like really testing my limits,” the 37-year-old
added. In Azhar, Emraan has portrayed the role of former cricketer
Mohammad Azharuddin.The film narrates the highs and lows of
Azharuddin’s life as the captain of the Indian cricket team for most
of the 1990s, being tainted by a match-fixing scandal in 2000 and
getting banned for life.

“In 2005, I had come out in support for
Sarabjit. I think it was my destiny to be a
part of the film today. Randeep, from what
I’ve seen in the trailers, you’ve done an
excellent job,” Nigam said at the event.
The movie is based on Sarabjit Singh,
who died following an assault by fellow
prisoners in a Pakistani jail.
It stars Randeep Hooda in the titular role
of the Sukhwinder and Sunidhi Chauhan,
along with Shail Hada and Kabana took
to the stage to perform the energetic
number “Tung Lak”. The performance was
followed by a special dance number by
choreographer Shiamak Davar’s troupe.

red carpet plans with mid-day saying:
“I am going to be taking some risks
on the red carpet and not playing it
safe since this is an once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity and I am so excited to
be a part of it.” Amy Jackson made

Not pushing ‘Rustom’ release

says the makers will not push
the release date of Akshay
Kumar starrer “Rustom”, which is
set to have a box office clash with
Ashutosh Gowariker’s “Mohenjo
Daro”. There were reports that the
makers of “Rustom” might shift
the film, scheduled to release on
August 12, as the Hrithik Roshanstarrer “Mohenjo Daro” is releasing
on the same date. When asked,
Tinu told media, “No nothing like
that. We are coming on August 12
too as scheduled.” Yesterday, a
spokesperson of Ashutosh Gowariker
Productions had denied any change in
rjun Rampal injured his knee during the shooting of his
upcoming film “Kahaani 2”, which stars Vidya Balan in the
lead. The 43-year-old actor, who is the new addition to the
sequel of 2012 suspense thriller, took to Twitter to share the picture of
his knee. “Busted my knee today, while filming a chase sequence.
Finished the shoot. Now in agony. But then #nopainnogain
#kahaani2,” he wrote. This is the first time Rampal and
Balan are teaming up together for a film. Co-written
and directed by Sujoy Ghosh, “Kahaani 2” went
on floors in March this year. It is expected to
hit theatres in November this year.

on the 1959 Nanavati case where
Naval officer Kavas Maneckshaw
Nanavati was tried for the murder of
his wife’s lover, Prem Ahuja.
Akshay, 48, plays a Naval officer in
the film which also stars Esha Gupta.

Not Doing Hera Pheri 3

ctor Abhishek Bachchan said that
he is no longer a part of comedy
film Hera Pheri 3. Abhishek, 40,
told media “I am not going to be doing
that film anymore.” When Abhishek was
asked about the reason for not doing the
film, he said: “It just didn’t work out.”
Hera Pheri 3, to be directed by Neeraj
Vora, was announced over a year ago and
the shooting was supposed to commence
in June last year. However, there were
reports that the film got shelved due to
various reasons. Hera Pheri 3 is a sequel
to the 2006 hit comedy Phir Hera Pheri
and the third instalment in the Hera Pheri
series. Hera Pheri 3 was slated to star
Abhishek, John Abraham, Suniel Shetty
and Paresh Rawal. Hera Pheri, which
released in 2000, starred Akshay Kumar,
Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal and Tabu in
pivotal roles. Meanwhile, Abhishek will
soon be seen in Housefull 3, which will
release on June 3.
