Jada Brookes discovers the new fragrance from Emanuel
Ungaro that helped celebrate their 50th anniversary.
t was thanks to the teachings of
Spanish designer Cristobal Balenciaga that his apprentice Emanuel
Ungaro was able to launch his own
fashion house in 1965. Ungaro had
moved to Paris at the age of 22, filled
with an exceptional creative talent and
with Balenciaga’s know-how, learned the
rigour and perfectionism that was so
essential. Ungaro’s aim was to create feminine looks that were not only elegant,
but also audacious and provocative. Each
season the designer dared to be different
and combined unexpected yet sensual
clashes of bright colours and prints with
beautiful draping. With his fashion house
located in the heart of Paris’ couture
fashion district on the Avenue Montaigne since 1967, Emanuel Ungaro has
achieved international fame thanks to its
femininity, purity of silhouette, flamboyant
prints and exquisite attention to detail
and colour. The brand’s success is owed
to this amazing designer continuously
driving the fashion house forward each
season with new collections, anticipating
trends and reminding women of their
power of seduction via Ungaro’s richly
embellished designs. Since he stepped
down from running the fashion house he
founded in 2004, the brand continues to
be successful in numerous international
markets through its ready-to-wear and
accessories collections for women and
men as well as its fragrances. The first
fragrance ‘Diva’ which launched in 1983
has led the way for other successful fragrances to follow.
To mark the brand’s 50th anniversary,
Emanuel Ungaro celebrated the occasion with a host of celebrities and press
