Welcome to our 63rd annual horse sale! The
horse business is making its way back from what
it was a few years ago. We feel we have kept up
with the most popular horses that are being bred
today. The Grays Starlight- Smart Little LenaHigh Brow Cat horses are doing everything there
is to do in the performance horse world. Along
with the bloodlines we feel we have not lost our
main focus which is to raise good confirmation,
good boned, and good looking horses that will
serve many purposes.
This year we are proud to offer an outstanding
selection of horses for sale. We are offereing 70
weanlings, 20 yearlings, 15 broke horses, 5
started 2 and 3 year olds, 10 broodmares, and 3
proven breeding stallions.
As in the past we will be selling the weanlings
sired by Cant Kick This Cat as choice of two. We
will lead two in the ring and sell buyer’s choice
and take the remaining colt home.

Terms of the sale are cash. Checks are considered cash. Payment must be made in full to the sale clerk immediately
after the sale and before the horse can be removed from the auction site.
A horse will be considered sold and the property of the buyer when struck off by the auctioneer. Any dispute regarding
bidding will be settled by the auctioneer and his decision is final. When the animal leaves the ring, it then becomes the
buyer’s property.
Purchasers have 24 hours after the sale to remove their horses. If the buyer is unable to remove the horse in this time
frame, buyer must make arrangements with the seller at a reasonable rate per day for care of the horses until they can be
picked up.
All known defects will be announced in the ring before bidding begins. Every horse will be sold under this rule. Therefore, no horse can be rejected by the buyer after it has been sold by the auctioneer.
On every registered horse and foal sold, a $15 transfer fee will be charged to the buyer. Please leave the name, address
and AQHA identification number of the person to which the horse(s) are to be registered. We will send the papers to the
American Quarter Horse Association to be transferred, then after processing at the Association, the papers will be sent to
the buyer.

We are very proud to own Playlight. We have ridden him in parades, flagged off him at rodeos, and
drug calves to the fire at brandings. Playlight is a
great combination between an athlete and a gentleman. His colts are very versatile. Whether you
want to win in the arena or go do ranch work all
day on one, his foals can make it happen. Playlight is not only a great looking horse but has the
performance pedigree to back it up.
Playlight was a performer himself! He carries a register of merit in both heding and heeling and has earned
19 performance points. His sire, Grays Starlight is a
$1 million sire in three different disciplines; NRHA,
NRCHA, and a $12 million dollar sire in the NCHA.

Smart Little Finch is an own son of Smart Little Romeo
who was a trained cutting horse that competed in the
NCHA Futurity. We lost “Romeo” as a 4 year old. At the
time of his death, “Romeo” was leading the SD Cutting
Horse Association 4 year-old division. “Finch’s” mom was
Krogs Roan Lady and she was a horse that we did everything on. Her great disposition and cow sense have just
added to the “Finch” colts. Krogs Roan Lady was raised
here on the ranch, with Paprika Pine and Majestic Spinner in pedigree. We have rode “Finch” and he is a very
quick mover. We are very thankful to own “Finch” and his
colts have shown the ability to really move and watch a
cow.

Our main sire is our 2008 red roan Peptos Pretty Spoon. He is by Hes
A Peptospoonfull by Peptoboonsmal and his dam is Another Pretty
Pep. Hes A Peptospoonfull passed in 2013 but at this time is a 3 million dollar sire. In 2011 he was in the top 10 of NCHA leading sires and NRCHR all time leading sire. He won
both 2001 Futurity Go Rounds and Semi Finals. Four of his offspring have won over $200,000 NCHA and he
personally had LTE of $72,851. Another Pretty Pep has sired many NCHA earners and has LTE of $9,300. We
have not shown Peptos Pretty Spoon but he has been used on the ranch on cattle and roping. He was easy to
train and is extremely easy to handle and get along with. His first offspring are just of age to ride and we are excited to see how they do. We think you will find his foals to be smart and very athletic. For more information

markings through his ribs and a slight skunk tail. He stands around 15.1. He is certainly easy on the eyes. We bought Monte
having 30 days professional barrel training and would classify him as “started on the pattern”. With a little work he would have it
down in no time! Monte has been ridden at a feedyard and we have roped some sick calves off of him. He has been ridden on
trail rides to include the River City Rodeo Iowa Trail ride. He was ridden around 100 miles that week through water, timber, hills,
