Chalet holidays not only offer a friendly
informal alternative to the usual package
holiday, they also offer great value
for money.

through the day a substantial breakfast
is served from 7.30 through to 9.30
each morning. To welcome you home
after a hard day on the slopes will be
an afternoon tea - homemade cakes,
biscuits, bread, jams, tea, coffee and
hot chocolate. During the evening a four
course evening meal is served with good
quality table wine. Our chalet chefs are
happy to cater for most special diets –
but please do try and let us know any
dietary requirements when you make
your booking.

S k i H o st in g .
Ski hosting is available for up to 3 days
of your week in Tignes, Les Menuires, St
Gervais and Morzine; generally Monday,
Tuesday, and Fridays; each resort has their
own dedicated ski host. As a general rule
hosting is only available to those guests of
an intermediate standard and above and we
do limit the number of guests to 10 per host.
To comply with French regulations hosting
does not form part of your holiday package
but is provided as a totally free service. We
may withdraw or restrict this service at any
time.
F L IGHTS
Our prices do not include flights. We hold
our own CAA ATOL (T7425) and are happy
to book any flights that you would like us
to. Otherwise many of our guests book their
own flights and let us know their flight details
so we can arrange the airport to resort
transfers
T r a n sf e r s & MINIBUSES
Where ever possible we schedule our
transfers to depart from the airport as soon
as possible after your flight has landed. If
ever there is a wait at the airport we would
let you know in good time. Transfers are
provided in our own minibuses or with
carefully vetted third party transfer providers.

Hotel Holidays
We have handpicked our hotels in Norway
and Andorra. All our hotels are of a very high
standard with good facilities; The Radisson
Blu in Trysil is truly ski in ski out with a
fabulous swimming pool and spa; over in
Andorra, the Hotel Nordic is an excellent
value for money 4 star ski in ski out hotel –
facilities include bowling alley, cinema room,
games room, swimming pool and spa.

There are a number of ski schools in Morzine.
By far the best though is The Avoriaz Alpine Ski
School. Run by Ian McKellar (ex British Ski Team
freestyle skiier) they offer group courses for skiing
and snowboarding for all levels.
Standard tuition packages incl. ski hire and lift
passes can be booked via Absolutely Snow. All
other courses, private lessons and clinics can be

Morzine is a beautiful Haute-Savoyard
village 45 miles south east of Geneva
in the heart of the world’s largest
International Ski Area – The Portes du
Soleil.
It was in 1934 that Morzine built the
Pleney Cable Car. Avoriaz as a resort was
developed in the 1960’s and this led to
the linking up of Avoriaz with Les Crosets
which established the Portes du Soleil.

Now there are over 240 modern ski
lifts and 650kms of marked piste with
acres of off piste, much of which
remains untracked days after snowfall.
This fabulous ski and snowboard area
connects 13 villages which straddle the
French Swiss Border. These including
Morzine, Avoriaz and Chatel.
Morzine is a vibrant alpine resort; there
are plenty of restaurants, shops, bars
and nightclubs making sure you enjoy
your time both on and off the slopes.

Du Soleil which covers all lifts throughout the
area, or the local Morzine/ Les Gets ski pass.

BY AIR Morzine is ideally situated for short
transfers being just over 1 hour (45 miles) from
Geneva Airport – perfect for short breaks and
families travelling with children.

Le Bettex is perhaps one of the
last hidden gems of the Alps - a
gorgeous traditional alpine village
which is just a short chairlift ride
away from Les Menuires and what is
reputed to be the finest ski area in
the world – Les 3 Vallees.
Our Chalets du Bettex are two beautiful
adjoining chalets in the quaint hamlet which
offers a unique holiday experience relaxed,
calm and traditionally alpine.

The two adjoining chalets can be used as
either 1 large chalet that sleeps between
30 and 40 guests or two smaller chalets,
Chalet La Masse which sleeps between 12
and 16 in 6 bedrooms and Chalet Bouchet
which sleeps between 18 and 24 in 9
bedrooms.
Les Menuires has a choice of ski schools.
The ESF (Ecole de Ski Francais) has over
200 instructors offering group lessons of 2 ½
hours each day for both adults and children.
Ecole de Ski Prosneige is a small
professional ski school in Les Menuires. All
instructors speak excellent English and they
limit their group size to a maximum of 10
skiers per instructor. You pay a little more but
the small class sizes do pay dividends.

The St Martin Valley including Val Thorens
and the massive 3 Vallees pass.

Tignes is a vibrant alpine resort; there are

happy. Other ‘activities’ going on in the
village include horse drawn sleighs, ten
pin bowling, ice skating, fitness centre,

EQUIPMENT HIRE
Intersport have an excellent shop stocked
with all the latest skis and boots just a 5
minute walk away from the chalets in the
centre of Les Breviere. Absolutely Snow
guests do get a discount on any ski hire
booked at Intersport in Les Breviere.
The Espace Killy ski area is popular with
both skiers and boarders. The area caters
well for all abilities, with some 350 km of
marked pistes ranging from gentle blues up
to technical black runs. Sitting in the Vanois
national park with stunning views, the ski area
is high enough to guarantee good snow.

Tignes is famous for being one of the most
active ski resorts in the alps and is often a
base for athletes to train at altitude. With this

Geneva airport, which is approx. two and an
half hours transfer time. Geneva is serviced
by a whole host of airlines which fly from
many of Britain’s regional airports.

The Eurostar leaves from London St Pancras,
Ashford or Ebbsfleet and arrives at Bourg
St Maurice . From here you can get a taxi to

Boisses and les Brévières, however you can
also pay for underground parking.

Chalet Davie is a recently refurbished chalet
situated next door to Chalet Trudi and just
100m from the new lift and piste in Tignes
les Brevieres. The chalet sleeps 16 guests in

St Gervais – or Saint Gervais Les Bains
to give the resort it’s full title is a truly
beautiful traditional village situated
850m up on the foot hills of Mont Blanc.
The resort began in the 1800s with the
opening of it’s now refurbished natural
spa. St Gervais forms part of the Evasion
Mont Blanc ski area – France’s 4th
largest ski area with over 107 lifts, 220
actual ski runs which cover 445kms. This
doesn’t include Les Houches which can
be accessed by the Mont Blanc Tramway.

ST GERVAIS
“Brilliant for beginners and Chamonix is close for the advanced”
St Gervais is within Evasion Mont Blanc ski
area where107 ski lifts connect 445kms of
piste and three main resorts St Gervais,
Megeve and Les Contamines. You can also
ski Les Houches by taking the Mont Blanc
Tramway directly from the centre of the
village. The whole ski area is uncrowded
and queues even in the height of the
season are rare. The skiing is fabulous and
the ski area of choice for many Chamonix
high mountain guides on their day off!
The ski day begins by taking the gondola

Your ski pass also covers Les Contamines
– a true alpine Gem. Just a few minutes
by minibus (we run a free shuttle from the
chalet), Les Contamines is somewhere you
should spend at least a day exploring.
Advanced
from just outside the village (served by free ski
bus and our own minibus shuttle service) which
climbs up to Bettex with stunning views from
the gondola over the Mont Blanc massive.
Begi nners
There are couple of ski schools. The ESF St
Gervais has a specially designed beginners
and childrens area with it’s own covered
‘magic carpet’! After a day or so beginners
will soon venture further up the mountain
tackling some of the glorious green and blue
runs that meander down through the forest.
By day 4 or 5 most beginners will be able to
make their way over to Megeve and back!
Intermedi ates
The Evasion Mont Blanc is a dream for
intermediates – long, cruising blues and reds
rack up the miles of piste. The slopes are

Trysil consists of one large skiing area. The
mountain’s three faces are tied together by
lifts and Green, red, blue and black runs.
Trysil is also home to one of Norway’s best
and largest terrain parks.
For children, Trysil has three large children’s
areas and the Smottes (the Trysil mascots)
are out on the slopes in the winter and come
up with all kinds of fun and games Trysil
also offers day-care for children and the ski
school runs courses for young skiers.
Snow guarantee
Skiing can start in October and last up to
1st May and the resort boasts the largest and
most advanced snow production equipment
in Norway. If winter should fail to arrive on

Sitting between France and Spain,
Andorra has slipped under the radar
of many British skiers for some time
but we feel it’s a gem waiting to be
discovered. Grandvalira is Andorra’s
biggest ski region and incorporates
the resorts of Soldeu el Tarter, Pas
de la Casa/Grau Roig, Encamp, and
Canillo. The area offers 173 pistes in
total with skiing between 1710 and
2640 metres altitude and a maximum
vertical of 930 metres.
ANDORRA
“The undiscovered gem that great fun on and off the slopes”

catered for with the opportunity for advanced
skiers to ski off-piste between the trees. Snow cannons cover 170km of 210m of the
ski area and with Soldeu and most villages in
Grandvalira at an altitude above 1,700m and
the skiing mostly between 2,000 -2,680m the
area is extremely snow sure.
EL TARTER
Pas de la casa
This lively resort (referred to locally as Pas) is
situated just a few hundred metres from the
French border in the parish of Encamp. The
resort sits at an altitude of 2050m with the
highest lift at 2640m making Pas the highest
resort in the Pyrenees. Due to its superb
location (and heavy investment in artificial
snow making) Pas enjoys an excellent snow
record complimented by plenty of blue skies
and sunshine.
CANILLO
Canillo is a traditional Andorran mountain
village of pretty stone clad buildings set in
the valley at 1500m. The bubble lift rises
from the centre of the resort up to El Forn at
2000m where a seris of chair lifts opens up
the whole of the Grandvalira ski area.
Canillo has a wide variety of shops, bars and
restaurants as well as a large sports centre
with ice rink and swimming pool. If you are
looking for a refined resort with access to
some wonderful skiing then Canillo ticks all
the boxes!
SOLDEU
Set on a steep hillside and at a base altitude
of 1,800m Soldeu is a charming village and
vibrant ski resort. Soldeu is the ski capital of
Andorra and boasts a lively après ski scene
and an excellent and chic reputation.
With 18 green slopes, 38 blue, 32 red and 22
black runs all categories of on-piste skier are
El Tarter has grown over recent years to the
point where it now seems no smaller than
Soldeu. The main local slopes are on open
mountainsides above the woods, though
there are runs in the woods back to all of the
resort lift bases.
This is a good resort for beginners. It is
relatively snowsure but the snowmaking is
expanding each year. The Espiolets beginner
area and playground has recently been
upgraded with new rope tows.
The ACG Snowpark, caters for freestylers
with instructors on hand to offer advice on
how you can better your tricks and jumps and
a dedicated maintenance team is in charge
daily throughout the season.
The ski school has an excellent reputation
for standards of English, quality of tuition
and friendliness. Children aged three to ten
can attend a non-ski beginner. Children’s ski
school starts from six years old.
