St. Mary Radiology and
Medical Imaging
COMPREHENSIVE. EXPERIENCED. ADVANCED.
Dear Fellow Physician:
St. Mary Medical Center is committed to optimizing health care by providing dedicated
professional staff and the most sophisticated
technological resources.
That commitment is clearly evident in our
Radiology Department, where we offer
referring physicians and their patients a
comprehensive range of radiology and
medical imaging services. Over the past
21 years, we have continually expanded the
department—both in staff and equipment—
to meet the ever-increasing demand for
sophisticated services that are readily
available, prompt and, above all, accurate.
Sincerely,
Paul Weiser, M.D.
Director of Radiology, St. Mary Medical Center
As such, we not only produce the highest
quality images generated by the most

Our growth is reflected by recent
additions to our staff.
Our growing, versatile radiology team is comprised
of highly qualified, certified professionals—bringing
a wealth of experience to deliver more accurate
results. Most are fellowship-trained in subspecialties
such as neuroradiology, interventional radiology
and musculoskeletal radiology. Subspecialists
in neuroradiology and interventional radiology
possess CAQ (Certificate of Added Qualification)
re-certification.
Department growth also is
reflected in our continued
investment in state-of-the-art
technology.We are proud to offer:
• The region’s most advanced MRI center, with
specialized breast and prostate capabilities
• An all-digital mammography breast center
• Innovative equipment, including a 64-slice
CT scanner and PET/CT (coming in 2007)
Further, last year we converted to a digital
radiology environment by implementing the
GE Centricity™ Picture Archival and
Communication System (PACS), equipped
with voice recognition software.
Expedited Medical Imaging
via Digital Radiology (PACS)
St. Mary Medical Center is among the first healthcare
institutions in the region to implement Centricity™ PACS.
The system speeds up the imaging process by
electronically converting radiology images to
digital files rather than film. The advantages are
numerous and significant.
With this system, physicians can:
• Digitally manipulate images to enhance overall
picture quality and improve diagnosis
• Receive and provide quicker results
for patients
• Better monitor patient progress, as previous
images are immediately available for
comparison to new images
In addition:
• Time and
expense
associated with
film processing
are eliminated
• Digital images can be simultaneously and
instantly accessed in networked sites both
inside and outside the Medical Center (via a
secure Internet-based channel)
PACS benefits impact all imaging modalities at
St. Mary, which are numerous—at St. Mary, every
diagnostic tool you’ll need, we conveniently offer.
• Consult in real-time with physicians at
different sites
