This month marks a major milestone in the lives of
the young Filipinos we honor at this very special
event and a very momentous day for all parents
especially for our fellow OFW’s in Hong Kong who
are very excited in arranging their flight back home
just to attend the graduation ceremonies of their
children.
Graduation day is the long awaited day of not only the student but for the
parents who has sacrificed being away from their loved ones only to support
and sustain the needs of their kids in the fulfillment of their dream.
My congratulations to the parents, guardians and all others who have nurtured and supported their kids throughout the course of their educational
journey. Your belief in these graduates, your steadfast ability to imagine
this day and their successes, sustained the students we celebrate this month.
Their graduation represents the culmination of and the rewards of years of
sacrifices and hard work. We salute you.
To all graduates as you leave your schools, you carry with you our hope for
the future. It is a future you must imagine, a future you must create with
your own two hands, your intellect and all your good will. This day is the beginning of greater challenges in life – you must also bear in mind that none
of these would mean anything if you have failed to learned the right virtues
and acquire enough character to enable you to effectively move forward in
the fulfillment of your career and dreams. May your graduation be the first
step on your path to success.
The true test of your achievement is anchored on your ability to share the
knowledge you have gained in school and translate it to meaningful actions.
Without it, you have learned nothing but with it you would have all the
weapons you would need to overcome all challenges and you may have
made all your previous efforts worthwhile.
May this important accomplishment in your life serve as a reminder of your
responsibilities not only to yourself and your family but also to your community and your country. May it guide you to achieve even more so you can
become a more productive member of the society and may it empower you
to reach even greater heights as Filipinos and as a citizen of the world.
Share all your talents and leadership skills in helping build our nation and
leading our countrymen to a more stable and peaceful place to live in. With
perseverance and prayer I know we will all succeed in living meaningful
lives.
Happy reading !!!

“My aim in preparing the book is to help

Processing.”
She added that the book is useful if one is
planning to have a Meat Shop Business,
A Barbeque Stand, a restaurant, or madeto-order processed meat. It is also ideal for
family consumption, parties and for gifts or

Fifteen OFWs attended the two-hour
seminar on lecture and hands- on training on
processing Chorizo de Iloilo (Longganisa),
Sweet Pork Ham, Deluxe Bacon, Pure
Corned Beef, Beef Patties, Buttered Chicken
and Chicken Tocino conducted by Chloe
Belle D. Dogeno, held at Prince Edward on
07 February 2010.
“I learned a lot of techniques and business
tips during the training. All are very helpful
for an OFW when they go home for good
and from their work here.” Trainee Momina
L. Sullah said.
According to Sullah, she did not waste time
to join the training when she knew about it.
She wishes more OFWs like her will have
interest and undergo a seminar too. She was
thankful she participated in the training and
now starts to collect her Meat Processing
materials. After her first training, she now
looks forward to enroll in another training
on the Volume Two of the Book, “How
to Process Meat for Business and Family
Consumption” by Chloe Belle D. Dogeno.
During the training, participants cooked
and tasted the longganisa and Beef Patties
after an hour they made it. “I had previously
attended a meat processing training but what
I experienced here is different.” Rosalinda
Perez, also one of the trainees said. “The
techniques and methods taught are different
too. This one is easier.” She continued.

MAGTANONG PO KAYO
The author has been in the public service of the Filipino Overseas Workers in Hong Kong for the past 20 years. He gives free advice and
counsel, as well as practical solutions on employment-related problems, family matters, etc. Mr. Estrella or Brother Rolly, as most people
call him, is currently the Vice President of INSURANCE OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS CO., INC. For free counseling, please
send your letters/inquiries to: AT YOUR SERVICE COLUMN, c/o Friends International Magazine, 5D Sun King Building,
580 Queen’s Road West, Hong Kong. (Attention to Bro. Rolly)
RELIGIOUS PREFERENCE
Dear Bro. Rolly,
I am a devout Catholic but I am not biased about
other religions.
However I have a resentment about my 23-year old
daughter who recently married a non-Catholic.
In early October, 2009 my daughter asked for a
written consent from me regarding her marriage
to her boyfriend of one-year. As I had previously
enjoyed a one-month leave in the Philippines
permitted by my European employer when she
also took her vacation in Ireland, I was not able to
attend my daughter’s wedding as I was not allowed
by my employer any more to take another leave.
I was not aware that my daughter’s boyfriend is a
Baptist. They were married at a Baptist Church
in Manila and I was informed that the church
minister officiated in the wedding ceremonies.
I believe that such wedding is not valid because
my daughter and her husband are of different
faith. I also believe that the church minister has no
authority to solemnize the marriage. Do you think
I should advise my daughter to file for annulment
of their marriage?.
I will appreciate your reply.
Suzie D. , Aberdeen, HK
Dear Suzie,
While you are claiming that you are not
biased about other churches or religion, your
letter from the first to the last paragraph
clearly shows you are indeed bias.
The matter of which religion or church a
person prefers to join is a freedom of choice
and no person on earth not even parents
could impose their will on their children in
their exercise of such freedom.
There is no law that invalidates a marriage
just because both parties who contracted
such marriage do not belong to the
same religion. The Family Code of the
Philippines in Article 7 (2) clearly states
“Marriage may be solemnized by any priest,
rabbi, imam, or minister of any church or
religious sect duly authorized by his church
or religious sect and registered with the
civil registrar general, acting within the
limits of the written authority granted by
his church or religious sect and provided
that at least one of the contracting parties
10
belongs to the solemnizing officer’s church
or religious sect.” Since the solemnizing
minister belongs to the church where your
daughter’s husband also belongs, the law is
complied with and such marriage is valid.
Thank you for your advice.
And For as long as the basic legal prerequisites are complied with (such as
consent by parents for under-aged couple,
the filing of relevant marriage license
application, etc.), the marriage becomes
valid and binding.
I don’t even think about suggesting any
legal remedies to your problem because in
the first place both you and your employer
are violating the Employment Ordinance.
This column does not encourage any foreign
domestic helper to violate your condition of
stay.
Claire G, Chai Wan
Dear Claire,
You also mentioned and implied that the
Baptist minister has no authority to officiate
the marriage because he is not a Catholic
priest.
For your information the state
grants the same equal authority to catholic
priests, rabbi, imam ministers or pastors to
solemnize marriages.
The law is clear, you are to work in the
house of your employer at the address
specified and written on the contract. You
are likewise not permitted to work for
employers other than the one whose name
appears in the contract.
Your request for my counsel about the
annulment of such marriage is stupid,
baseless, biased and self-serving.
Bro. Rolly
My advise is for you to straighten out your
stay in Hong Kong as a foreign domestic
helper and obey the laws governing your
stay here.
GREED FOR MONEY
Dear Bro. Rolly,
I have been working for my present employer for
three years now on the basis of the agreement that
while she sponsored my employment and signed the
contract, she will just pay me HK$2,000 a month
and allows me to work twice a week for her brother
who will pay me HK$2,000 a month and likewise
to work for her other sister twice a week who will
pay me HK$2,000 a month.
Indeed it is a big help for me and my family as my
total monthly take home pay is HK$6,000 which
is well over and above the minimum required by
law.
You cannot report this incident to either
the HK Immigration Department or Labour
Department lest you will be penalized and
sent home.
My advise, finish the remaining one-year
term of your employment contract, secure a
release letter and transfer to another family
who will employ you in a legal manner.
The laws of Hong Kong which are strictly
implemented to protect its government and
its citizens which include you and I makes it
a progressive and a conducive place to stay
and work – and is worthy of emulation by
any government.
Bro. Rolly
My problem now is that I was advised by my lady
employer that she will reduce my salary from her
from HK$2,000 to HK$1,000 because she said she
will send her seven-year old son to study abroad
and that I don’t have to do any babysitting job
anymore.
That means my monthly pay will now be reduced
to HK$5,000. I am not agreeable to such reduction
because I have recently started to build a modest
house in Las Pinas and I will be needing funds to
finance construction.
Do you think I can have some legal remedies about
this salary reduction which I think is illegal.

Diploma para
sa Inang OFW
Matapos ang halos
22 taon bilang OFW,
matagumpay na nakamtan ni Sally Ramos
ang kanyang pangarap na makatapos ang
kanyang nag-iisang anak sa kurso nitong
Nursing noong nakaraang Marso. Lalong
taon 1988. Katuwang ang kanyang asawa
sa paghahanapbuhay para mabigyan ng
magandang kinabukasan ang kanilang
anak, tanging mithiin ng kahit sinong
magulang. Sa pagiging driver ng kanyang
asawa ay maaga nitong hindi naiwasan
ang aksidente at iniwanan ang mag-inang
mamuhay ng walang ama at asawa. Hindi
sumuko si Sally at mag-isang itinaguyod
ang anak na ihinabilin sa kanyang mga
magulang sa San Nicolas, Pangasinan.
Pinagdaanan ni Sally ang limang
ibat’ibang klase ng amo. May malupit na
pamilya ng intsik ang nagpahirap sa kanya,
ngunit hindi nito inalintana at pinagtiisan
ang dalawang taon, alang-alang sa anak.
Ibinabahagi niya sa anak ang lahat
ng pagdurusa bilang katulong at mga
paghihirap ng kalooban nitong malayo sa
kanya. Ayon sa anak, nakatanim lahat sa
kanyang kaisipan at puso bawat katagang
katayuan. Kaagapay ang mga amo sa
pagpapaaral kay Jusallyne.
Nagdidiskusyon ang mag-asawang amo
ni Sally, gusto ng babaeng tulungan
agad na makapunta rito sa Hong Kong
bilang private nurse nila. Samantalang

Jusallyne.
Pagbabalik tanaw ni Sally, na halos nadikit
ang labi sa pisngi mula noong nakapasa
ang anak sa board exam, “hindi ako
makapaniwalang nakaya kong itaguyod
mag-isa ang aking anak “. Laking
pasasalamat niya at hindi napariwara ang

kanyang panalig sa Lumikha.

tumawag ang kanyang madam. Hindi niya
marinig ang sinasabi ng kanyang amo,
imbes na sabihan lakasan ang boses ng

sa loob na amo ang nasa linya. Binabaan

Inaamo
siya ng kanyang alaga pagkatapos na
masermonan at kinakampihan nitong
patago sa ina. Ganun din ang kanyang sir
na mabait at alam niyang wala sa lugar
ang pagtrato ng kanyang asawa kay Vilma
kaya patago rin na inaamo siya pagkatapos
siyang napapagalitan.
“ Impolite “ ang naging dahilan at walang
release paper ngunit halos HK$ 30,000
sasakyang panghakot at pabagahe nito.
reference letter.
Dalagang Ilocana si Vilma at planong
magpakasal sa susunod na taon. Gustong
ibahagi ni Vilma sa kapwa OFW ang
kasabihan “kung may tiyaga, may
nilaga”.
Macau’s wide array of exciting and unique
attractions, world heritage, and fascinating
museums add an irreplaceable dimension to
a vibrant coastal city renowned as one of the
finest holiday getaways in the region.
The last destination was the Venetian. The
famous enchanting and magnificent place for
joy and entertainment, relaxation, comfort,
excitement and adventure. A place which is
easily accessible by Venetian shuttle bus waiting
outside the ferry terminal. It is international,
cosmopolitan and modern. There’s always
something new bursting onto its unique and
glamorous landscape which was inspired by
Venice.
A whole day trip of the group was an amazing
and unforgettable experience to remember.
Nevertheless, the alluring culture, architecture
of blended eastern and western history,
convenient transport and dynamic fascinating
heritage captivated one’s heart which urges
one to go back again in this vibrant place.
The inscription of Macau’s historic center
internationally affirmed the importance
of nearly five centuries of cultural and
architectural exchange between Portugal and
China. Locations like Plaza Senado, the Ruins
of St. Paul’s, and the picturesque villages
of Taipa and Coloane remind visitors that
the port of Macau has long been a triumph
of human cooperation and unity. From the
ancient temples, fortresses, and churches to
peaceful beaches and hilltop hikes to modernday monuments like the Macau Tower and
many more attractions which can be seen with
our naked eyes.
In Celebration of the Chinese new year, the
Luzon Federation of Hong Kong organized
a Macau trip last Feb. 15, headed by Medie
Borlaza, Petra Regua, Rechilda Cortez and
its affiliate members and officers with founder
Arnold Grospe. The trip was an unforgettable
experience for the group especially for some
of the members who visited the city for the
first time. Amidst the chilly weather and
pouring rain, the group was eagerly taking
remembrance photos.
Upon arrival, the group took a shuttle bus
to the City of Dreams. Wherein a smiling
and charming mermaid was swimming in a
large aquarium that everyone was allowed to
take pictures together with the mermaid as a
background.
Napagkasunduan lang ng mag-asawa at

Next destination was to take a look and visit
the famous landmark of Macau, the Ruins
of St. Paul’s. The great ruined facade and
staircase to the church of the Mother of God
is the famous attraction of Macau. The church
was built from 1602 to 1637. But in 1835, a fire
burned it to the ground leaving only the facade,
the staircase and portions of a wall. But during
the strolling and long walks before reaching
the Ruins, along the way, one of the 3 oldest
churches in Macau, the St. Dominic’s Church
was also visited by the group. This church
is a classified monument which underwent
extensive renovations and the church bell
tower turned into a Museum of Sacred Art.

AGUADO CASE: Robbery –Stealing from another using force - Part 1
Ben Aguado (not his real name) was charged
with Robbery at the Fan Ling Magistracy Court
in November 2008. He pleaded not guilty to the
charge and proceeded to trial in February 2009.
Ben working as a domestic helper/gardener with
the same employer for the last 8 years, his day went
to a Karaoke together with his friends thereafter
resulting in a scuffle of 7 people. After the fighting,
Alex Barbas (not his real name) found his wallet
missing together with his month’s salary of HK$
4,500. Alex reported the matter to the police and
alleged that Ben stole his wallet during the brawl.
The Prosecution’s Case: Alex on his day
off went out with friends to have a drink
somewhere in Tai Po starting at 3:00pm. Not
yet content he proceeded to the Karaoke Bar
after 7:30pm to find friends who may still be
drinking. Alex met up with Ferdie by the KCR
train station in Fan Ling and both of them
headed to the Karaoke.
Alex and Ferdie took a table near the door
entrance and ordered their San Miguel Beer.
After 15 minutes, both of them find unbearable
the noise made by another group occupying
the bigger table by the cashier. Alex finds them
rowdy and loud. In addition, Alex could not
have his turn in singing as the microphones
are being controlled by the bigger table. For
the next 30 minutes, there were exchanges of
stares, intent gawking at each other, progressing
to the intolerable and to vile gazes.
Alex decided to approach the bigger table and
introduced himself. The 5 occupants of the
bigger table introduced themselves in return.
Alex decided to sit between Ben and Marco.
Alex asked Ben if his group could keep their
voices down and to allow the other customers
to sing. Ben who was already drunk did not
receive the rebuke lightly. Ben’s response was
to punch Alex on the face and head causing
multiple injuries to Alex’s nose, left and right
cheeks, and forehead. Alex tried to ward off
the attack by raising his 2 hands to cover his
face, but Ben together with his 4 other friends
on the table including Marco jointly assaulted
Alex, kicking Alex on his legs, punching
his stomach and back upper shoulders, and
pushing Alex on the floor. Alex sustained
further assault and injuries while on the floor.
Ferdie tried to stop the assault on Alex but
was not heeded by the fighting faction. On the
available opening, Alex managed to extricate
14
himself from the group and run. Ferdie
followed and both fled the scene. When Alex
reached home, he found his wallet containing
his salary of HK$ 4,500 missing. One week
later, Alex decided to go to the police station
and make a report. Ben was subsequently
arrested at his flat and was charged with
Robbery.
The Defence’s Case: Ben instructed me as his
defence counsel and I took instructions from
him including the other 4 people sitting on the
big table.
Ben noticed the arrival of Alex and Ferdie
before 8pm who were then seating near the
door. Ben’s table was indeed noisy because
they already had a few drinks. There were
female clients at the nearby table thus the
natural tendency for the “machos” to show
off with their singing skills. After half an hour
or so, Alex approached Ben’s table together
with Ferdie and made introductions. Ben
invited them to join his table. They all had
drinks together and sang. Around 9pm, Alex
who was drunk became persistent towards
the woman sitting on the next table. Marco
told Alex to cool it and slow down. Alex was
infuriated by the meddling of Marco and both
had exchanges of foul words. In the heat of
the moment, Alex hit Marco’s left face using
Alex’s right fist. Marco lost his balance and fell
on the floor. While on the floor, Alex kicked
Marco on the stomach and all over his body.
Ben tried to stop the assault on Marco but the
group later joined in the fray.
Ferdie seeing Alex outnumbered took a chair
and hit everybody with it, crushing the hands
and the fingers of Ben who was trying to
protect himself by raising his two hands to
cover his head. Then Ferdie ran towards the
door followed by Alex. Marco followed by
Ben pursued Alex and Ferdie towards the
door and to the staircases. On the last flight
of stairs leading to the ground floor, Alex lost
his balance and plunged down the staircase.
Marco caught up with Alex on the landing
and hit Alex on his face and who was trying
to get up. Ferdie seeing bigger trouble ahead,
fled towards the direction of the KCR train
station. Ben tried to stop the fight between
Marco and Alex but to no avail. Ben then
decided to push Alex to break the impasse,
held Alex by the collar and screamed at Alex
to stop. Alex instead punched Ben on the face
and then ran towards the KCR station. Ben
was accompanied home by an acquaintance
of Indian Nationality named Iqbal (not his
real name).
On cross examination of Alex: This counsel
crossed Alex on the items missing. Alex said
that he lost his wallet and his salary of HK$
4,500 in cash. Counsel asked for other items
missing. Alex confirmed that no other items
were missing. Counsel asked where Alex puts
his HK ID. He said he keeps it in his wallet.
Why then Alex did not report to the police
about the missing HK ID if it was in the
missing wallet? Alex replied that he forgot to
report. Counsel asked other items that Alex
forgot to report to police to which Alex only
the HKID. Counsel asked how he paid for
his fare when he went home that night. Alex
said he used his Octopus MTR card. Counsel
asked where he is keeping his MTR card.
Alex replied he keeps it in his wallet. Counsel
crossed that he could not have used the MTR
card as it was inside the missing wallet? Alex
replied he bought another one-way fare MTR
ticket. Why Alex did not report to the police
about the missing MTR card if it was in the
missing wallet? Counsel asked where he keeps
his money. Alex replied he keeps his money in
his wallet. Counsel asked how he could have
purchased another MTR one fare ticket if his
money was kept in the wallet that is reported
missing. Counsel then put to Alex that he
forgot many things like the HKID, MTR Card.
Therefore Alex must be fabricating his story to
bolster his weak case to which he disagreed.
Counsel then crossed Alex how much he remits
to Philippines every month which he replied
around HK$ 3,500 leaving him HK$ 1,000
allowance. Counsel asked Alex how much he
spent for the drinks in the early afternoon to
which he replied around HK$ 200. Counsel
puts to Alex he would have spent his $1,000
monthly allowance already and he would have
paid HK$ 200 from his salary just received.
Alex replied in the affirmative. Counsel then
puts to Alex that when he arrived at the
Karaoke, he does not have HK$ 4,500 with
him but only around HK$ 4,300 if not less.
Alex agreed. Then counsel put to Alex that he
lied to the police about the missing HK$ 4,500
when his money is only HK$ 4,200 or less.

By His Wounds, I Am Healed
by Apostle Renato D. Carillo / ORAS NG HIMALA staff
Surely, he took up our
infirmities and carried our
sorrows, yet we considered
him stricken by God, smitten by Him and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was
crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that
brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds
we are healed.” Isaiah 53: 4-5
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by
becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “cursed is
everyone who is hung on a tree.” Galatians 3: 13
Jesus Christ, our healer has already healed all
kinds of sicknesses and diseases more than
2000 years ago when He went to the cross and
paid the price. Thus, healing is an established
fact. Jesus did it for you and for me. By His
wounds, we are healed. As long as you believe
in Him, you will be healed no matter what your
sicknesses and diseases are. It could be cancer,
leukemia, blindness, deafness, muteness,
paralysis, tumor, ulcer or any kind of sickness
and disease including incurable ones.
When God’s word declared that by the wounds
of Jesus, we are healed, it means that healing
is not about to take place but it is done more
than 2000 years ago at the cross. We can see
that healing is more than a promise. Likewise,
salvation, blessings, prosperity and deliverance
from the works of the enemy are also done by
the Lord.
Usually, sickness and diseases bring along
sadness. As Jesus took the pain of your
sicknesses, he has also taken your sadness. He
was wounded for a reason. It is for healing,
salvation, deliverance, prosperity, peace and
joy.
Jesus shouted it at the cross, “It is finished!”
Indeed, it was a declaration of victory and
healing. It was announced to all that Jesus did
it for you and for me. Understand that Jesus
does not just heal you today neither about
to heal you tomorrow but He did it already
for you even before you were born. Healing
is available for you even before you get sick
because the Lord Jesus has already paid the
price at the cross for us. He had already paid
the price for us even before sickness came. Ha
had changed your sickness and disease into
perfect health.
If you are sick today, the first thing that you
must do is to search your heart before the Lord.
Confess your sins, repent and be purified.
And then claim your healing saying, “Thank
you, Lord for by Your wounds, I am healed!”
Claim what the Lord Jesus had prepared for
you. Jesus suffered 39 stripes. It was the price
that He paid for our healing. Believe this truth
and claim your healing now. You do not have
to wait for Jesus to heal you. Why? Simply
because He did not say that He is about to
16
heal you today but He said, “By My wounds,
you are healed!” Thus, instead of waiting
and hoping to be healed, begin to claim your
healing today because it is already done. His
promises must be real in you. Stop waiting for
a promise to be fulfilled but begin to claim this
truth.
Remember the cross, fix your eyes on it and
claim your healing now. God’s faithfulness
offers forgiveness. It is available for you
anytime. As the Lord Jesus saved you and
healed you, He does not need to heal you again
and again. He died once and for all and paid
the price of our iniquities yesterday, today and
tomorrow. His precious blood that was shed at
the cross of Calvary has the power to cleanse
you and break the chains of sins in you. So,
when you sinned against God, you do not
need to do anything but to look up at the cross
because he had already poured out His blood
and cleansed you thoroughly. Just confess
your sins knowing that you are forgiven and
then claim your healing. This is the beauty of
Jesus’ redemptive work.
When you need healing, health, victory,
forgiveness, prosperity, peace, joy and freedom
from bondage of sins, then you have to look at
the cross and claim what Jesus did. You can
do it again and again as long as you need it.
This is the victory of everything that the Lord
Jesus had done at the cross of Calvary. And it
is the difference of what Jesus did from any
religion.
If we claim that we are in Christ Jesus, we must
understand what Jesus did at Calvary. How
could we just ignore all His sufferings for us?
How could we just ignore the 39 stripes that
He suffered? If we really believe that by His
wounds, we are healed, then we have to trust
that He has all the power to take that sickness
no matter what the medical findings are. We
ought to believe the Lord Jesus; we ought to
claim what belongs to us. We have to trust the
Lord completely.
The validity of what Jesus had done at the cross
is eternal. It is not good only for a day or for
a week. Jesus shouted it out, “It is finished!”,
then we have to believe it and claim it now
and always. Faith is necessary here. Faith sees
God. It sees the redemptive work of Jesus at
the cross. It is to claim what belongs to you no
matter how you feel nor the symptoms that
you see and feel. It is believing that what Jesus
had done at the cross has eternal validity to
heal all kinds of sicknesses and diseases.
Beloved, remember that all kind of sickness are
not from God. How a loving and compassionate
Father God could bring sicknesses and diseases
to you? Certainly, He could not do such thing
to His children. He is the healer. He sent His
Son to die for our transgressions. He took our

sicknesses and diseases.
Arnis also made a mark in Hollywood in
the movie, “The Borne Identity”. Renowned
Filipino-American martial arts instructor Dan
Inosanto was its fight choreographer.
The truth is this; the Lord Jesus could heal
you wherever you are. He could touch you
and heal you when you come to Him and ask
for forgiveness. After you confess your sins to
Him, You can claim your healing. Fix your
eyes to Him and declare what you believe and
prophesy this to your body, “I am perfectly
healthy in spirit, soul and body and every part
of my body is perfectly healthy!” Then, stand
on what you believe. Rely on the redemptive
work of Christ. Live by it, believe it, claim it
and see the result.
The wonderful Lord Jesus Himself bore our
sins and suffered for our transgressions. He
was wounded and shed His blood. He suffered
the pain which you and I must suffer. He
did it for us. He has already paid the price.
After all, we do not need to do anything else
except to claim what belongs to us because it
is an accomplished fact. So, be healed today,
whatever your sickness because it is already
done.
Do you want to experience your miracle today,
then say this prayer;
“Father God, please forgive me for all my sins in
thoughts, words and deeds. Forgive me for bitterness,
self-pity, resentment, jealousy, envy, fear, anger,
hatred, lying, cheating, gambling, smoking, negative
thoughts words, action and reactions. Forgive me
also for watching or reading pornographic film and
magazines or in the internet, forgive me also for
believing to horoscope and fortune -tellers. Forgive
me also for committing adultery, fornication in
deeds or in thoughts. Forgive us also, Father God
for worshipping to idols and bowing before carved
images, I renounce all these. I now forgive everyone
who sinned against me. I release forgiveness and
forget what they have done or said against me. I
now also forgive myself. Lord Jesus, I now accept
you as my Lord and Savior and my healer. Lord
Jesus, I invite you to come into my life and reign in
my heart. I need you, and I will abide in you. And
please write my name in the book of life. Thank you
for healing me. I believe that by your wounds, I am
healed. I claim my healing now, Father God, in the
most precious name your Son, Lord Jesus Christ. I
pray. Amen.”
THE LORD JESUS LOVES TO DISPLAY HIS
AWESOME POWER BY HEALING ALL
KIND OF SICKNESSES AND DISEASES.
HE IS THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY
AND FOREVER!
Movies like “Mission Impossible 3” and “Lara
Croft Tomb Rider: The Cradle of Life” also
featured Arnis in its fight scenes using the
Filipino fighting sticks with lead stars – Tom
Cruise and Angelina Jolie, respectively.
And in June 2008, Discovery Channel came
to Manila to feature Arnis for its show “Fight
Quest.”
It’s time for Filipinos to learn the basics of its
native martial arts called “Arnis.”
On 11 December 2009, President Gloria
Macapagal Arroyo signed Republic Act No.
9850 declaring Arnis as the country’s National
Martial Art and Sport. The law conforms
to the state policy to inculcate patriotism,
nationalism and appreciation of the role of
national heroes and symbols in the Philippines’
historical developments.
Through the years, Arnis has been featured
in local and international action movies.
Filipino action star Ronnie Ricketts is a known
advocate of Arnis, often featuring the art in his
movies such as “Mano Mano 3 Arnis … The
Lost Art.”
Interested OFWs who want to learn Arnis,
may contact Guro Rene V. Sorezo 6198-9661
– International Modern Arnis Federation
Philippines (IMAFP) Coordinator in Hong
Kong and President of Modern Arnis Hong
Kong (IMAFP-Hong Kong).
The law also mandates that Arnis competition
will be the first to be played at the Annual
National Games, Palarong Pambansa. And
with the enactment of RA 9850, the symbol
of Arnis will be inscribed in the official seal of
the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).
Arnis is derived from the Spanish word ‘Arnes’,
which literally means armor. It is known
nationwide and internationally in countries
like: USA, Germany, Russia, Switzerland,
Poland, France, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Saudi
Arabia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada,
Japan, Slovakia, etc. But often it plays second
fiddle to the foreign martial arts taekwondo,
judo and karate in terms of prominence.
This form of martial art involves the use of
one or a pair of rattan or kamagong sticks as a
weapon and a training tool meant to simulate
a knife or a sword. It is also known as eskrima
and kali, and by various other names in the
Philippine regions. It is characterized by the
use of swinging and twirling movements,
accompanied by striking, thrusting and
parrying techniques for defense and offense.
Bare-hand fighting is also an integral part of
the art.

Balitang Showbiz
ni Noel Asinas
Joey de Leon,
may bagong
game show sa
TV 5 Kapatid ni Claudine Barretto
na si Cholo, nakikita ring
dumadalaw sa bahay ni Glaiza
DUMARAMI na ngayon
ang kaibigang lalaki si
Glaiza de Castro. Hindi
lang pala close si Glaiza
ngayon kay Carlo Aquino,
pati pala sa kapatid ni
Claudine Barreto na si
Cholo Barreto ay close
din ang dalaga.
Krista Mae bagong Bb. Pilipinas International
NAG-UUMAPAW ng kaligahayan ang syota ni Krissa Mae a.k.a.Krista Mae
Arrieta Kleiner(No.11) na si Jay-R, ang tinaguriang RNB Prince ng Pilipinas,
nang tanghalin si Krista bilang 2010 Bb. Pilipinas International.
Tinanghal din si Krista Mae bilang Best in Talent at Best in Swimsuit
Samantala, ang winners ng 2010 Bb. Pilipinas Universe na si Maria Venus
Rai (no.10).
bilang best in long gown., best in regional terno at tinanghal ding isa sa Miss
Friendship, nakatie niya si Kate Princess Alimurong.
DI kaya magreact kay Joey de Leon
ang GMA 7 dahil may bagong
programang game show ang
comedian host ng Eat Bulaga, Mel
and Joey at StarStalk sa TV 5, sinabi
bagong game show sa pinalakas
pang TV 5.
Pilipinas World na si Czarina Catherine Gatbonton (No.21) dahil
nagsalita siya sa question and answer in native Tagalog.
kanyang sinabi. Kinailangan pang i-translate ito. Ang special award ni Miss Gatbonton ay Manila Bulletin Readers’ Choice
award. Ang tinanghal na first runners-up ay si Diane Necio (No.22), at ang second runner-up ay ang Miss Photogenic,
Helen Nicolette Henson (No.18).
Nabatid namin sa
source na nakikita ring
lumalabas sina Cholo at
Glaiza bilang barkada.
Dito, nagluluto-luto sina
Claudine at Glaiza.
Bb. Pilipinas 2010
Joshua Davis, Ultimate Talentado champion
Kaya tinawag
siyang Yoyo Trigger. Siya’y second year high school sa New Era College. Gagamitin niya
Nagsimula
siyang maglaro sa edad na 9 years old.
at Ruffa Gutierrez. Malalaman
ang kumpletong pangalan ng
malalaking stars sa TV 5 sa March
25 sa kanilang grand launching na
gaganapin sa World Trade Center.
This week Talentadong Pinoy ay simula ng bagong yugto ng original reality talent show sa
bansa.

Never pang nakapagjudge
si Manny Pacquiao sa Bb. Pilipinas.Kasi, di raw
pumupuede ang busy schedule ng pambansang
kamao. Tulad ngayong Bb.

sina Paolo Contis at Lian Paz

halos parehong longest running comedy game show, ang Takeshi’s Castle.
and Angelina.
consultant ng show.
Di

pagkakagawa dahil pinaghalong kantahan, comedy at drama.

Hayop o Kap’s Amazing Stories.

I thought I Loved You
By Sally G.
I thought I saw a shooting star
But found that it was you
I thought I heard tinkling bells
But found that it was you
I thought I spoke heavens tongue
But found it was for you
I thought the world revolved
Around and depended on you
Now you’ve broken my heart
I know these things aren’t true
When darkness took over me
You were my gleam of hope
When I was lost
You were my guide
But Oh , my shattered soul
I say what I should have said long time ago
Goodbye stranger I thought I loved you…
I WISH.....
By: cat~babes-hk
To: B.B.jeddahksa
I wish i should have ignored you from the
start
You played your game well and draw your
card without doubt,
Carefully cautious and hesitant, for i know
you’re just that arrogant
Then i was provoked, yet at the end of the day
a friendship start.
That two-player game turns out into a taboo
blaze of love
New light in the horizon was found that both
of us are fond.
So what if (personal) principles, sanity and
dignity were just left behind?
Just to give chance to this love we have...
Even fear and guilt could never rebound.
.....Everyday words of love, comes freely and
sincerely
Jokes and simple saying’s cheer up the
gloomy day
Text massages and countless phone calls are
considered uncostly
Even sound of silence of both phone calls
could happily end up the day.
The love and care we shared forever be
remembered/treasured
If what ever comes along our way, your gentle
caution to me would be okey
The memories.....Of both of us will surely
stay.

If You Believe
Dedicated to Kristal
Your diploma means a future without
boundaries,
A world that’s full of mystery,
So as you discover them for all nothing is to
worry
Life is easy if we are all ready.
Pursue your goals, and hold on to the dream
that you wanted to be.
Your graduation fills us with love and pride.
We always knew that you could do
whatever you really tried.
It’s still along and challenging journey
Let your friends and family give you their
support,
I am sure they will acknowledge your effort .
And always, think that you know you can
achieve
The things you really want, if you believe.
Always Be A Student
Dedicated to Katkat
Keep on learning, my dear
Though your graduation’s done;
And had fun with everyone
You must understand that your life has just
begun,
At times i’m down and lonely, you always
comfort me,
Your sweet voice,in my pain you ease me.
The call-of-your-work is not a hinder for you
to touch me
I thank you for all the times you protect me.

Fulfillment of dreams is coming near,
Just don’t change my dear,
For knowledge will set your career,
Just be serious and make yourself clear.
To winning what you want in life
And being who you want to be.
If you’ll always be a student,
You’ll find the secrets to success
And travel on the golden road
To peace and happiness.
REFLECTION: BEHIND THE
DARKLESS IN UR LIVES
By Nanette M. Benitez
When you find yourself lost
Trap in a very strange place
That you cry to find a way out
But then darkness covers your way
When you’re already hard-up
Fighting the same old battle
And you’re already wounded
And the pain is killing you
Don’t give up so easily,,
There’s an end to every battle
There’s an exist to every entrance,
No wounds cant be healed
Behind sorrows there’s joy
And behind darkness
There’s always light waiting for us
Continue to dream plan to do
Most dreams that come true
Are born out by desire
Fueled by preparation and action
Success and fulfillment are for everyone
But can only be reached
By those who pursue,
Remember that god is always on the go.

Laugh Lines . . .
High Blood
Sinabi
Pedro. Sabi ng Doctor: “ah nag eehersisyo sa
paglangoy si Don Pedro?” Katulong: “Hindi po.
Tinuturuan yung baboy na lumangoy”.

HORO S C OP E
Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 19) This is a time for you
to shine! You have an extra measure of energy and
confidence now and will make a strong impression on
those in your environment. This is a very good time
to go for a job interview, meet the public, or simply go
out and be seen. You will be noticed more than usual.
Emotions: Good ~ Money: Fair ~ Wellness: Good
Power Numbers: 18, 34, 47, 27, 33, 16
Aquarius (Jan 20 - Feb 18) This is a time of
great personal change. You become tired of your
role in life, and you are very sensitive to habits,
customs, and social requirements that hide the
“real you”. You feel as though you have been
drifting along with the tide and following the
crowd for too long, and your inner needs and
motivations must assert themselves more strongly.
Emotions: Fair ~ Money: Fair ~ Wellness: Fair.
Power Numbers: 46, 28, 4, 13, 17, 39
Capricorn (Dec 21 - Jan 19) You are powerfully
attracted, emotionally and sexually, to someone
you encounter at this time, and any romantic
involvements you currently have are intensified.
Expect fireworks! Also, your relationships can
become tempestuous, especially if your partner
is not as responsive or as loving as you would
like. Emotions: Good ~ Money: Fair ~ Wellness:
Fair. Power Numbers: 11, 44, 25, 45, 33, 18
Sagitarius (Nov 23 - Dec 21) You are more
clear and objective about personal matters and
your relationships, so this is a favorable time
to work out differences or come to a decision.
Communicating openly with loved ones, taking
a trip to visit friends, or going on an outing with
someone you care about or love is likely now.

Riddle Me This
Libra (Sep 23 - Oct 22) Your close relationships
with others can undergo some abrupt changes at
this time. The driving force behind these changes
is your impatient, demanding need to achieve
greater sincerity, honesty, and understanding
between you and others. Emotions: Good ~
Money: Good ~ Wellness: Fair. Power Numbers:
27, 36, 26, 20, 14, 24
Virgo (Aug 23 - Sep 22) Your sexual or romantic
relationships have a deep, compelling, urgent
quality today. Your inner feelings and needs for
love and closeness emerge very strongly. You may

or at least enjoying some emotional release.

Good. Power Numbers: 36, 46, 25, 31, 4, 1
Leo (Jul 23 - Aug 22) Giving and receiving
appreciation, love, and happiness come into
your life now. You are moved to express your
affections more openly than usual. You also want
to be surrounded with beauty and harmonious
people. It’s a great day to sit back and enjoy what
and who makes you happy. Emotions: Good ~
Money: Good ~ Wellness: Fair. Power Numbers:
36, 47, 31, 27, 6, 14
Gemini (May 21- Jun 21) Expect an increase
in your work obligations, but not necessarily an
increase in your income. But this may be okay
because, if you are patient, you could find the
unfairness of the situation being noticed and
rectified very soon. Keep the peace at home
by showing compassion rather than judgment.
Emotions: Good ~ Money: Fair ~ Wellness:
Fair. Power Numbers: 9, 13, 43, 10, 24, 21
Taurus (Apr 19 - May 20) Taking it easy and
letting things happen will let opportunities
continue to grow that are already underway.
Situations beginning now will be cooperative
and helpful to you as they progress. A general
atmosphere of getting along together prevails
and will continue to if you just go with the
energy at hand. Emotions: Fair ~ Money: Good
~ Wellness: Good. Power Numbers: 28, 49, 44,
15, 27, 38
Cancer (Jun 23- Jul 23) This is an upbeat,
refreshing time period. Progressive changes
in your life and relationships make this an
enjoyable, exciting time. The changes are not
likely to be extraordinary in scope, but a definite
enlivening of your relationship to others is
evident. Emotions: Good ~ Money: Fair ~
Wellness: Fair. Power Numbers: 40, 33, 43, 2,

Pisces (Feb 19 – Mar 20) Relaxation, enjoyment,
and pleasure are emphasized for you now. This
is not a time to push yourself or be involved in
activities that require intense energy. Cooperative,
harmonious relationships are more important to
you at this time. You feel like socializing and
being friendly. Emotions: Good ~ Money: Fair

Scorpio (Oct 24 - Nov 22)Though you are
unusually energetic, it is hard for you to get
anything done. You tend to fly off the handle
and to scatter your forces. You are happiest now
when you do something creative and daring,
which doesn’t involve trying to cooperate
or conform to others’ wishes and needs.
