Craftsmanship is a fine art. Found among the gifted artisans
in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin are the finest wood-makers,
cue designers and engineers in the world. McDermott utilizes
a process that includes over 150 separate procedures in the
construction of each cue. All shafts start from the finest Kilndried, hand-selected North American Hard Rock maple and are
turned 11 times for stability. All forearms, handles and sleeves
are handcrafted from the finest materials and most exotic
woods from around the world.

The McDermott G-Core shaft has taken the industry
by storm. Its triple-layer design stabilizes the front
impact area of the shaft, reducing vibration and
minimizing shaft distortion. G-Core’s carbon fiber layer increases
radial consistency which enhances accuracy and stability. The
G-Core shaft comes standard on all 2011 McDermott cues from

Throat
Tri-Core Butt
Construction
Our cue construction process includes over
150 separate procedures. All forearms,
handles and sleeves are handcrafted from
the finest materials and most exotic woods
from around the world. Our shafts are built
with the finest Kiln-dried, hand-selected
North American Hard Rock maple and are
turned 11 times for stability. McDermott
cues come with a lifetime warranty against
warpage and defects.
The throat 1 is adorned with intricate inlays and rings using the finest materials and
exotic woods from around the world. All of McDermott’s inlays and rings are precision
milled to within .001”. Each McDermott cue is customizable with over 30 premium
paint and stain choices. The cues are then finished with an ultraviolet electrostatic
5-coat urethane finish.
Handle
McDermott’s Tri-Core butt is constructed using three separate pieces of wood that
are hand-glued and screwed to promote straightness over the life of the cue. The
tenon 2 and pin 3 technology provides optimal balance for the butt of the cue. A
double-pressed and sealed Irish linen or premium leather wrap 5 is applied over the
underwrap 4 to provide incredible comfort and moisture control.
Sleeve
The sleeve 7 slides over the underwrap tenon 6 to complete the Tri-Core butt
construction. It is glued and secured by the butt plate and interchangeable weight
bolt system 8 before being adorned with intricate inlays and rings to compliment
the design of the throat. All McDermott cues are capped with a clover-embossed
rubber bumper 10 to protect the butt plate 9 .

The Wood
McDermott hand selects only the
finest woods from around the globe.
The wood is aged for 18 to 24 months
by alternately storing and machining
each piece three times. This allows the perfect amount
of moisture to escape, ensuring absolute straightness.

contact throughout the cue, delivering
maximum feel and the most solid hit in the industry.

The Finish
McDermott cues are handstained with our exclusive
imported European “OrganicPigment” stain made from the
finest pigments in the world. Superior to the
synthetic stains generally used in the industry,
it’s notable for uniform saturation of the wood
and color consistency. Five coats of high-luster
urethane protect the cue and enhance the color.

What’s the difference between i-Shaft and G-Core?
McDermott’s i-Shaft and G-Core each have their own unique core contruction to implement the triple-layer carbon fiber technology.
The G-Core’s carbon fiber starts at the tip and extends through the first 7 inches of the shaft. This gives it the accuracy and power
benefits of a high-performance shaft, but with the familiar feel of a traditional all-maple shaft. Unlike the G-Core, the i-Shaft’s carbon
fiber starts at the ferrule and continues through the entire shaft, making it the most radial consistent shaft on the market. This minimizes
the inconsistencies experienced with an all-maple shaft. The i-Shaft also uses McDermott’s Tenon Tip Technology in which the ferrule
has a tenon that fits inside of the carbon fiber core. The diagrams below show the carbon fiber placement in the i-Shaft and G-Core.

The G-Core and i-Shaft utilize McDermott’s proprietary triple-layer carbon fiber core technology to create the most radial consistent shafts
on the market. Radial consistency is the ability to reproduce the same results regardless of the shaft’s orientation. This means the shaft will

Everest Tip by Tiger
Each Everest laminated cue tip is individually
tested for consistency, hardness and quality. It
shapes like a hard tip, hits like a medium, but
has the control of a soft tip. Everest tips have
10-layers that include a red warning layer to
indicate when it needs replacement.
The G-Core shaft technology significantly stabilizes the shaft with
a triple-layer carbon fiber core at the front impact area of the shaft.
G-Core technology increases shaft stability, promoting increased
accuracy with enhanced radial consistency. The G-Core also utilizes
our proprietary CT Technology: a carbon fiber ferrule core that
results in greater strength, efficiency and precision.
CT Technology
Carbon fiber extends through the shaft wood and into the ferrule
with an additional dampening device to reduce vibration. This
results in a stronger ferrule assembly with maximum impact

Intimidator
The Intimidator is the most expensive pool cue in
the world and raises the bar to a whole new level of
prestige. This sensational cue is a three-dimensional
piece of art that features four bladed wings that can rip
a table to shreds. The focal point is a Genuine Italian
Obsidian Gemstone Sphere. Our designers started out
with a 82-pound solid piece of stainless steel. After
finely machining this piece for over a year, the result
was an amazing 9½ pound masterpiece.

Anthony “Two Feather” Squadroni has been designing pool cues for 20 years. Many of his
award winning cue designs have been featured in publications and shows internationally. Two
Feather’s work is inspired by his native American heritage and his love for the game of billiards.
McDermott is proud to have worked with Two Feather on McDermott’s three new shaft inlay
cues featured on pages 15-17. These unique cue designs feature intricate inlays on the shaft
to compliment the cue design, while giving you the quality craftsmanship and performance

McDermott Lifetime Warranty
McDermott’s Lifetime Warranty applies only to the original purchaser/
owner of the cue and must be purchased from an authorized McDermott
dealer. McDermott Cue warrants its pool cues to be free of defects in
material and workmanship, including warpage, for as long as the product
is owned by the original purchaser/owner. McDermott does not warrant its
product against:
• normal wear and tear including tip, finish, and wrap;
• misuse, abuse or mishandling;
• modification or improper maintenance performed by third parties or
•damage caused by exposure to extreme temperature or humidity.
All warranty claims must include the complete cue and are subject to
evaluation at our facility prior to approval. Products that do not qualify for
the McDermott Lifetime Warranty can be serviced by McDermott for a fee.
To obtain warranty service on a McDermott product, return the product
to an authorized McDermott dealer or directly to McDermott along with a
copy of your original sales receipt. For complete warranty claim instructions
