PROTECtion content
A long tradition
One of our main attentions is to see that our customers
and athletes stay healthy and avoid injuries with our
products in the regions of prevention, medical fitness
and sport protection.
Two decisive factors are what make ORTEMA with
its main company in Markgröningen and branches in
Ludwigsburg, Pforzheim and Waiblingen special where
orthopaedic technology, rehabilitation,
medical fitness and sport protection
are concerned.
On the one hand we have many very
dedicated and highly specialized
people such as physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists,
masseurs, sports scientists, psychologists, social educationists, nutritionists, orthopaedic shoemakers and
orthopaedic technicians all in one
company. The other factor is the
direct integration in the medical working
process and the proximity to the
Orthopaedic clinic Markgröningen.
This exchange demands and furthers
the expertise between these
specialists and the physicians of the
clinic. Main benefactors are the patients and athletes
that get treatment and are taken care of at ORTEMA.

Since 2005 ORTEMA is official partner of the IIHF and
thus present at big events and World Championships to
offer quick aid to the players of all teams.
The work of our specialized orthopaedic technicians
often enables the players to play a bit more light-hearted.
Regardless of it being the bandages of our partner
Sporlastic or any of the high-tech products of the
technology specialists. All three of them wear the
customized carbon fibre K-COM knee brace to give their
knees the necessary protection or needed stability.

1. The plaster mould is the most exact method of
obtaining a model of the athlete‘s leg. The anatomy is
duplicated to 100%.

knee joint is exactly measured and the model altered
appropriately.

The V8-Pro knee brace represents a completely new
constructional concept. It benefits from the many
years of experience gained from the development
and production of knee braces and is a version
which effectively reduces the risk of injuries
to the knees insports. (cruciate and/ or

The V8-Pro knee brace is not a specific
orthopaedic aid and is usually not
covered by health insurance since
it is conceived as a preventive aid.
KNEE BRACE STOCKING
Special stockings are worn underneath the K-COM
knee brace. These have the advantage that they allow
sweat to dissipate quicker and due to them fitting
tightly to the leg they further increase the wearing
comfort. 2 versions are available.
The „Müller“ model: Stronger version with additional
silicon coating for even better skin contact. Lengths

The Genu-Hit knee bandage has spiral stays on
the sides and an additional silicon ring around the
patella. It stabilizes and relieves stress due to the
circular compression. This support has a practically
bunch-free, perfect fit in the region of the back of the
knee. Main indications for the bandage are posttraumatic
inflammation of the knee and gonarthritis. The bandage
which can be worn either on the right or the left side
is made of a breathable material and is anatomically
formed.

This knee bandage with joint splints on the sides can be
used for collateral ligament damage, meniscus injuries and

2XU sets new standards regarding sports compression garments. Regardless of whether
you are active doing skating, skiing, moto-sport, running, cycling or other sporting
activities where the muscles have to perform at a high level the 2XU Compression
guarantees extra support and safety. 2XU utilised their exclusive 50D/CK fabric combining a 50 denier Lycra together with a revolutionary circular knit high gauge
construction, providing the most compressive fabric on the market. The graduated
compression of the garment is fundamental to remove all the waste byproducts the
body produces during high active sport, which cause fatigue. The extra push of blood
from the ankles towards the heart allow you another level of performance and the
ability to perform longer with less fatigue. Further advantages are quicker recovering,
better oxygen flow, reduced fatigue, being less vulnerable to injuries, better body
awareness such as improved humidity exchange due to the fibres. The compression
underwear s available as shorts and tights.
Lumbo-X low
The technical structure of the Lumbo-X was conceived
to meet sport-orthopedic criteria. Integrated stabilizing
belts provide a perfect fit and good support in every
situation. It stabilizes and supports the lower region
of the back and can be used either when back
problems occur or be put to use prophylactically. The
new “Ortho-Tech Protection System” was specifically
developed to reduce external forces and protect the
lower part of the spinal column. The integrated
link chain follows the movement of the body to the
front while preventing an overstretching to the back.
The Lumbo-X is available in 6 sizes (XS-XXL) and 2
different heights: “low” and the 8 cm higher “high”
version.

ORTEMA not only offers individual sport orthopedic
solutions but also has an own centre for medical training
therapy and performance diagnostics. Here athletes
can regain their strength and mobility after accidents,
injuries or surgery by using the most modern computersupported training aides. The individual workouts are
guided and observed by certified sports scientists and
physiotherapists. More than this it is possible to establish
an exact performance
diag-nosis. This enables the serious amateur athlete and
the professional athlete alike to check and assess their
current performance levels and to adjust their workout
appropriately. Following tests are offered to establish and
optimize the current performance level:
•The isometric maximum strength measurement tests the strength of different muscle groups (torso, legs).
The results of the individual regions (e.g. spinal/
abdominal muscles) can be compared and should
any imbalances be evident the workout can be altered
appropriately.
•Coordination and mobility tests of the sports-relevant
muscles can further help to optimize the individual
workout.
•The lactate level test assesses the endurance capacity.
Measured variables are the running speed or Watt
performance on the ergometer, such as heartrate
frequency and the concentration of lactic acid in the
blood.
After the exact analysis of the tests specific workout
programs can be established. Then, it is possible - again
with professional guidance - to perform the workouts in
our on-site training facility ORTEMA Medical Fitness.
A re-evaluation is offered after 3 months at the earliest to
check on the athlete‘s progress.
