TOC I love the smell of NEOPRENE in the morning! We use quality neoprene in our short, Long John and Jane, optimizing thickness with 3mm neoprene for warmth on the main panels, and 2mm neoprene in areas that need to stretch a lot. All of our Neo insulation garments feature paddling specific articulation. Tanya Faux, Team Kokatat: " I stayed dry in my Knappster and women's Helix dry top on this beautiful early morning session on the Ottawa River in preparation for the ICF World Freestyle Kayaking Championship. A bronze medal this time round, again that cheeky Ruth Gordon beat me by 8 points. Love ya Ruthie! The thirst for adventure never fades, even if it is below zero at the put in at 7am.... Wouldn't want to be in anything else but my Meridian dry suit! With ice growing on my helmet as we paddle down it is hard to believe I was warm! It was my first time down the middle fork of the Feather, 2 days of pure river love and great company". Super-stretch neoprene ankles eliminate uncomfortable zippers and a reinforcement on the knee helps to reduce abrasion. NeoJane comes with relief zipper. NeoJohn comes with a 2-way zipper. It was a hot summer on the British Columbia coast, with temperatures regularly above 80 degrees. Despite the heat, my GORE-TEX® Front Entry dry suit remained surprisingly breathable. I also really appreciated the drop seat relief zip, which fit perfectly between my back rest and seat bottom, so I never noticed it was there while paddling. My dry suit was comfortable enough for around camp and confidence inspiring on big crossings, down to the liner! I remarked more than once (not entirely in jest!) that I would not have been able to complete the expedition without my Seawester hat. It protected me equally well from the blistering heat we experienced in BC, as well as the nonstop rain we had in Alaska. The Seawester has a generous, sweeping brim in the back, which allowed me to keep my hair dry even in sideways, windblown rain. I can honestly say that this hat went a long way to keeping me comfortable in any condition. Watch www.elevatedattitude.com for spring 2010 slideshow dates, where we will dive into the details of the trip including photos and video from the expedition, our first-hand look at how the environment and communities interact with the salmon, and tips for planning your own Pacific NW kayaking adventure." A durable, windproof outer fabric is bonded to a cozy inner fleece for comfort when worn alone or with a paddle jacket. Pants and shorts are reinforced in the seat and knee areas for durability. Excellent fit and quality finish are Kokatat trademarks. "A shot from the trip of a lifetime, a Black Feather expedition to Scoresbysund in East Greenland. This is one of the deepest and longest fjord systems in the world. It’s home to narwhal, seals, eider, musk ox, fox, hare and polar bear. Icebergs parade the fjords, occasionally rumbling, rolling, and splitting apart. The surprisingly colourful landscape had mossy plateaus, red sandstone hills, to contrast the steep granite cliffs and glowing white ice. It’s hard to judge distance in this world of immense scale. Glaciers flow from the 2000 meter peaks to calve cathedral sized icebergs into the sea. Yet the nearly constant views of the icecap that covers most of Greenland reminds you of global warming and the fragility and importance of this ecosystem. The MsFIT Tour life jacket fits me perfectly with convenient pockets. The Tempest pant and GORE-TEX® Pullover was a perfect combination on water in the double kayaks and on shore for the few wet days that we had. In the singles, we used Expedition dry suits. Warm, dry feet always improves my disposition." Model: Marilyn Scriver.
