Welcome!
We are very excited to present our 3rd Annual “Barber’s Red & White Holiday Lights” Sale, held in the historic Stockyards of
Fort Worth, Texas, at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2015. is will once again be a great opportunity to select the top heifers
from our 2015 spring-born calf crop. Rest assured that nothing will be sold prior to sale day and that you are getting to choose from
the best we have to offer. We are proud to say that for the past three years, we have had a National Champion or Reserve National
Champion female offered for sale in Fort Worth. Also, with the great popularity of the embryos we have sold the past couple of
years, we have decided to really rev up the selection this year and offer our best matings in volume, as we will be selling 100 embryos
for the first time ever. As always, we will guarantee at least one pregnancy on every set of embryos being offered. is will also be
the first time we have offered semen on Aventus for sale to the public.
All the cattle being sold will be on display in the Stockyards beginning the ursday prior to the sale. ere will be a cocktail hour
and hors dóeuvres directly before the sale to go along with plenty of great Hereford fellowship throughout the weekend. We invite
everyone to attend the sale and bring their family for a “fun” Fort Worth weekend.
Now for some more details on our sale offering. Barber Ranch has always placed a huge emphasis on raising females that are
competitive in the show ring and that are bred to perform in the pasture. We have as good a track record as there is at raising cattle
that compete and win at the national level. ese spring-born heifer calves represent the best set of females we have raised yet.
You will have the opportunity to purchase the cattle that would normally go into our donor and replacement female program.
In addition to the live lots, we will also be offering 100 frozen embryos. ese embryos are the same matings we are putting in our
own recipient cows, so obviously we believe they are the best we have; our next calf crop will be comprised of full siblings to the
embryos being offered. Our final special offering will be semen packages on Aventus, who we believe is our next great herd sire.
is bull is a full sib to Anastasia, who was offered in our 2013 Holiday Lights Sale and went on to win many national shows,
including Champion Polled Heifer in Denver earlier this year. Aventus, owned with the Hirschfeld Group, has the look that we
strive to raise, and the only opportunity to acquire his semen is to purchase it through a handful of select sales. e Sooner X
Gabrielle bloodline is the foundation of our herd, and Aventus carries those genetics that are so sought after in the breed today.

e best way to describe this March polled About Time daughter is that she is
really unique. Daphne is crazy fronted, ultra-stout, long made and deep bodied.
She’s also really great haired. Daphne is a daughter of our great Zoey cow, which
is the stoutest Sooner X Gabrielle daughter that we have raised to date. Everyone
should know by now the value of having the Sooner X Gabrielle combination in
a pedigree. If you want a heifer that will be deadly in a lineup and who we believe
will also make a great cow, this is your heifer. If you want an added bonus, then

thought it only fitting to offer her as a choice lot alongside Lot 2. Arielle is as
feminine, correct in her makeup, great haired and good looking as you can make
one. ere was one other great show heifer (and great producer) who also won a
National open show as a calf the same year we showed Gabrielle as a calf. Her
name was Carol Channing 5020. 5020 is owned with Paul Day, and she has
produced numerous National Champions for their family. She’s had about as
many daughters win a championship at Junior Nationals as any cow family.

Show Heifer of the Year and current Denver Grand Champion Polled Hereford
Heifer, Anastasia. e main difference being that these two are HORNED!
5505 definitely has that Anastasia front end…she ties really high out of her
shoulders and is really long and clean fronted. She also offers great stoutness
and rib.

will have a hard time trying to figure out which one you like better in person.
Lot 5 is also really long made, attractive, deep and stout.
Not only are these sisters full sibs to Anastasia, but they are also full sibs to the
immensely popular Aventus bull that Barber Ranch and the Hirschfeld Group are
currently campaigning. You can’t go wrong with a female out of Abigail 8130,
who is arguably the best of the Sooner X Gabrielle daughters.

a piece of metal embedded in her foot that caused a small abscess,
which is why we didn’t picture her. She should be good to go by sale
day. Abby has always been one of our absolute favorites. is polled

We didn’t necessarily breed Lots 24 and 25 for the show ring—although they
certainly could hold their own—but for the tremendous impact that they can
make in our herd. When looking at these two females, they are kind of a different
breed. ey are just simply stouter constructed than most Herefords. We feel that
is a big reason why Gabrielle has worked to such a multitude of different matings
with great success over the past decade.
To sweeten the deal even more, included with the buyer’s choice of Lots 24 and
25 will be two units of Sooner semen from our own personal batch that we have
been using for IVF flushing, but with no guarantee on conception or flushing
success. Our family has been split over which of these two is the better female,
so we are offering them as a choice lot for the buyer to decide.

Cattle are offered for sale under the current Terms and Guarantees recommended by the American Hereford Association, which can be viewed at
www.hereford.org. Animals will be transferred to the buyer at the seller’s expense after payment is received in full. Show expenses on jointly owned
females will be prorated. Announcements made at the sale will supercede all printed material. We reserve the right to withdraw any sale lot not
meeting our specifications prior to sale time. EPDs were current as of 11.10.15, as reported by the American Hereford Association.
Note: Barber Ranch reserves the right to two future flushes on each of the heifer calves selling, with a minimum of six embryos per flush.

We have made preparations to bid and buy livestock through Superior Productions’ “Call or Click-To-Bid” service for
those unable to attend in person on sale day. Phone 800.431.4452. Please note that videos of all of the live lots in the
sale will be available for viewing online prior to sale day at barberranch.com and superiorlivestock.com.
Here’s How It Works…
Turn in Bids Over the Phone. This is our traditional method of buying livestock. To get started, simply go online to www.superiorlivestock.com and click on the tab titled “Register for a Buyer Number.” Select the registration form for Superior Productions and print the registration form, fill it out and fax it in to Superior Productions at 817.378.3380
with a signature on it. You can also mail it in to the address provided on the form. Upon receipt of this information, Superior will call you with a buyer’s number and the bid
line phone number that you will use on sale day to place bids over the phone.
Click-To-Bid. This is Superior’s newest way to buy cattle! Please note that high speed internet is required—this is not for dial-up or satellite internet. Registration is free, but you
must become a member of www.superiorclicktobid.com to sign up. Becoming a member is easy—just go to the homepage of www.superiorclicktobid.com and follow the outlined steps to get started. Input your information and select a username and password. You will receive an e-mail confirming you are a member. From that point forward you
just have to sign in and select the sale you would like to register for and once approved you will receive an e-mail confirming which sale you are now registered for.
Viewing the Auction. The sale will be broadcast live on the internet at www.superiorclicktobid.com—just go to the home page and select the auction. Remember, you can call in
to bid over the phone when watching on the internet if you have registered for that service, but you must be a member of www.superiorclicktobid.com to “click-to-bid” and
bid online. Your computer must have Flash Media Player installed to view the auction.
Bidders who are successful in making purchases will be contacted by the ranch after the sale to settle payment and make shipping arrangements.
