Life in Motion!
Genetically speaking the human being is at the same stage as about 150,000 years ago.
Accordingly, our bodies are made for running, climbing, bending, stretching and jumping – not for
hours of rigid sitting. If you underchallenge your body with respect to nature, you have to reckon with
feeling ill at ease and health problems.
I have experienced this with my own body: like about 80 % of all “deskpersons”, I suffered many
years from backache, which meant an enormous loss of quality of life for me. Not even sport could
compensate the basic lack of movement that arose through hours of mainly sedentary activity.
Traditional seats did not offer any solution here either. So something had to be invented. Whereupon
I started to investigate the topic of “active sitting”. I held many discussions with experts and after
hundreds of draft designs the first ever seat in the world that moves in all three dimensions saw the
light of day: the swopper.
At the time, it was to be something quite revolutionary. Today the swopper is an integral part of
ergonomic and office furniture ranges, and in the meantime has received many renowned awards for
its function, technology and design.
The swopper has been the first ever seat invented that moves in all three dimensions and thus
encourages more movement than any other seat. This also applies to our unique variable seat
muvman and to our newest product, the most innovative office chair in the world: 3Dee.
Common to all aeris products is their addressing of the human being’s need for a healthy “Life in
Motion”.

We have one success factor:
Movement.
If you observe children, you will see that there is hardly a moment when they keep still, because they
are following their natural urge to move. Movement is in the very nature of the human being. It is
people's modern everyday life with long periods of sitting and standing – in school, at work and in
the car – that put the human body into a straightjacket of motionlessness. And this we pay at a very
high price: our health.
Traditional seats – even with so-called “ergonomic features” – do not offer a solution here. So the
time was ripe to reinvent sitting – beyond standards and conventions and with one goal in mind: to
bring more movement into everyday life.
This idea led aeris to invent a revolutionary concept in 1997: 3D ergonomics for seats. For our
customers this means movement through active-dynamic sitting while working - leading to better
health, greater motivation and increased productivity.
And success proves us right. The active seats swopper and swoppster, the variable standing/sitting
seat muvman and the active office chair 3Dee – our products set new benchmarks. They have been
awarded numerous prizes for their function, technology and design and have catapulted aeris into
the top 100 of the most innovative small and medium-sized German businesses.
It was high time to reinvent sitting!

1. Always sitting properly.
The swopper encourages constant change of posture.
You automatically sit up straight more often. And
because the swopper follows your movements, your
back remains straight – even when you lean towards
your desk.
2. Good for the intervertebral discs.
The 3D movement of the swopper eliminates onesided pressure on the intervertebral discs. Swopping
nurtures the intervertebral discs and keeps them fit
and elastic.

Conventional standing aids/variable seats are often rigid and have a hard seat causing pressure
points at the edges. These prevent the return of venous blood; you sit rigidly without any movement
and the higher the sitting position, the more likely you are to adopt a hunchback posture.

The muvman has an intelligent seat with flexzone technology. It supports you when you need it and
gives instead of pressing. Moreover, the muvman has improved elasticity at the seat corners. You sit
in motion and are always well balanced. The preset tilt of 4° automatically adapts to your sitting
position. Whatever sitting height you choose, the tilt automatically ensures that you keep an upright
