The money is good, It averages out around
60 euros a night in the summer and around
40 euros a night in the winter.

JOB WERE YOU DOING?
I worked in a travel insurance office for
2 years.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO GO TO
TENERIFE?
I wanted to escape the 9 to 5 and also
I wanted to say I’ve worked abroad.
WHAT JOB DID YOU DO THERE?
I’m still here and not thinking of going
home, not just yet anyway! I work as a
shot girl in Linekers, one of the best
clubs/bars in Tenerife.
HOW EXACTLY DID YOU FIND THE JOB
(WEBSITE, PAPER,AGENCY ETC)?
I saw an advert for Playaway and contacted
them, I flew out with a group of people and
Playaway got me the job at Linekers in the
first week I was here in Tenerife.
WHAT’S YOUR DAY TO DAY ROUTINE?
Wake up at 1pm sun bathe all day to work
on my tan! Then I start work at 9 till
3.30am then party till 6am.

DID YOU FIND ACCOMMODATION EASILY
AND WAS IT EXPENSIVE?
It was very easy as Playaway arranged a
month’s accommodation, then once my
month was up the Reps found me another
place to stay. I am still there and I live with
4 other girls in a 3 bed apartment and I
pay 200 euros a month.
WHAT’S THE NIGHT LIFE AND SOCIAL
LIFE LIKE?
Really good, you have your everyday bars
and clubs where you can go and just get
smashed but also your more upper class
bars and clubs where you can get dressed
up and do something different.
ARE THERE OTHER THINGS TO DO LIKE
SPORTS/BEACH/TOURIST
ATTRACTIONS?
Tenerife has alot of tourist attractions
from paintballing to go karting, surfing
to the biggest water park in Europe.
Or you could just chill at the beach or
around the pool.
WHAT’S SO GOOD ABOUT WORKING
IN TENERIFE?
You get sunshine all year round and it’s so
chilled out, there is no stress, it’s vibrant
and very lively at night. Cheap food and
booze as well.
ARE THERE ANY NEGATIVES?
You’re either always hungover or drunk and
you can put weight on quite easily.
DID YOU MAKE SOME NEW FRIENDS?
I have made so many new friends through
Playaway it’s like having a second family.

THINGS ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE
Best:
1» I have learned a lot more about myself.
2» Meeting and making new friends.
3» I am now much more independent.
Worst:
1» The cockroaches.
2» You need to buy bottled water.
3» If I am down, I can’t just go round and see
my mum and dad.
DO YOU FEEL THIS EXPERIENCE WILL
HELP YOU IN YOUR FUTURE CAREER?
Yes deffo, it’s made me so much more
confident in myself and it’s been such a
life experience.
