With over 60 years of experience in the surfboard and boat building industries, Hobie has established an inate knowledge of what it takes to make
a high quality product and the right combination of materials to do it.
Hobie has continued the tradition with our lineup of stand up paddleboards, utilizing and bringing together proven board and boat building
technologies. From the high performance multi-layer epoxy laminations found in our Elite Race Series, to the highly functional and proven inflation
technology found in our Inflatable Series, Hobie has developed a spectrum of stand up paddleboards to fit almost every paddlers needs.

High density foam deck inlay
BCX brings together the natural strength and flexibility of
bamboo sandwiched between multiple layers of fiberglass
compressed into a mold to create a strong and lightweight high
performance outer shell over an EPS core. This lamination
technology places key materials in key areas to produce a high
performance board that is lightweight yet durable. All Fin boxes,
handles and inserts are laminated into the board and seated
into high density PVC Foam for extra strength

Hobie’s premier construction, BCX + C brings together the
natural strength and flexibility of a thin veneer of Bamboo
sandwiched between multiple layers of fiberglass compressed
into a mold to create a strong and lightweight high performance
outer shell over an EPS core. The rails are then capped in
Carbon fiber adding extra stiffness and rail strength. This
lamination technology places key materials in key areas to
produce a high performance board that is lightweight yet
durable. All Fin boxes, handles and inserts are laminated into
the board and seated into high density PVC Foam for extra
strength

Hobie’s most proven construction method, EPX-1 produces
a durable lightweight board using PVC Foam sandwiched
between a multi-layer lamination of fiberglass creating a thick
strong outer shell over Light weight EPS foam. All Fin boxes,
handles and inserts are laminated into the board and seated
into high density PVC Foam for extra strength

Hobie MPE (Molded Polyethylene)
The MPE construction method provides a board that is much
stronger and more durable than conventional epoxy/fiberglass
construction methods. The durable Polyethylene plastic is
molded over a Strong Polyurethane core. This construction
is method is a bit heavier then conventional construction, but
durability and resiliency are unmatched. A perfect durable
construction for recreational boards that may be used in harsh
environments or demo and rental programs.

Hobie Racing & Touring boards have been developed by Hobie’s world class water athletes and Hobie’s R & D team. Utilizing
computer aided shaping technology and countless hours of on the water testing and racing, we have been able to zero in
on critical performance factors in our designs. By utilizing CAD design programs and making small changes we are able
perfect the design. Our designs were developed to be fast in all conditions, have a stable confident feeling on the water, and
maintain momentum in between strokes and paddle changes.
