On a quiet neighborhood in Ramat Hasharon near
Tel Aviv, a group of Holocaust survivors, ages 8590, come every Sunday to dance in Café Europa.
The main characters had to pay an additional
horrific price as Israelis. Rachel lost her son in
the Yom Kippur war. Eli and Bluma's son returned
shell – shocked from the battlefield. Ziegler's
grandson was killed in Lebanon, and Rottman
was a POW in Damascus. The film follows their
struggle to cope with their loss, their memories
and their disappointment of the country they built.

This USAID-funded project works in mixed
Jewish and Arab/Palestinian cities and areas in
Israel. These are mixed but segregated cities and
areas that face many challenges for the Jewish

Europe closed its borders in 2006, thousands
of Eritrean refugees flee their military dictatorruled country north to Israel, their gate to the

Rahat had workshops of observing wildflowers

and draw them with watercolors, and how to

In the 1970s, the book "Life as a Parable" had a cult
following. Young people followed Pinchas Sadeh
like a prophet. Hagai, a troubled teen was one of
them. He felt that Sadeh could change, and perhaps
even save his life, so he worked up the courage to
meet with him and for the following 30 years, up
until Sadeh's death documented their encounter
on his Super-8 camera. Through this relationship he
was able to get an intimate look at Sadeh's total
approach to life. We come face to face with all the
scandals, but also with Sadeh's books and poems.

In the last two years of her life, the poet Yona
Wallach suddenly became a public figure. The
scandal caused by her poem "Tefillin" had serious
cultural and political implications, her poems set to
music became radio hits, and the way she dealt with
her cancer was covered intimately by the entire
media. Hagai met Yona once as an adolescent and
was exposed even then to the cruelty and madness
so closely associated with her. He returned to her
years afterwards to document her. Yona speaks the
way she wrote and lives, with boundless intensity,
