W
ho can believe it…it’s March
already?!? It’s time to get those
bikes ready. We’ve got the second
half of the planning meeting scheduled for
th
March 17 at 4:00PM at the lovely home of
Dave and Kathy Dolinger. At this meeting,
the officers of Chapter J are going to have a
surprise for its members. So if I haven’t
gotten your curiosity up, come out and join
us, because it’s going to be action-packed.
Our first ride of the year is scheduled for
th
Saturday March 24 and it will start at the
Old Mill McDonalds. The ride will be led by
Jim Lehr so it should be a wonderful ride.
Stay in touch via our web page and of
course, Terry will get more information out
via email.
Next, it doesn’t surprise me but on Saturday,
rd
March 3 the District wasn’t even home
from its cruise when the phone rang and the
caller ID said Allen Willingham. Now what
dedication! Five hours home and Allen was
already getting a ride together to Chapter A!
Way to go Allen! Loyalty, loyalty,
loyalty…Allen is truly dedicated to the
GWRRA cause and our Chapter. If you
haven’t seen this guy in action, look at our
web-page, the true Allen Willingham came
out during WinterThing in Ocean City, and
after that show, I don’t think there is
anything he wouldn’t do for GWRRA and our
Chapter. He’s a better man than me.
So, get those bikes tunes because this
summer we are going to do a lot of riding.
Stay tuned.
Cheers,
Michael & Kathrynn

M
arch is here and spring is near. I
hope everyone is getting there plans
together for the warm weather riding
season coming soon. There are many great
events to experience on a Gold Wing. See
our calendar for the real good ones coming
soon!!
It has been a tough couple of months with
my ’03 Gold Wing in the shop since the
middle of December. It has developed a
vibration and had a couple surgical
procedures to correct it. I will tell you now
you never want to see your Gold Wing in as
many parts as I observe mine. I did observe
that there was very little carbon on the
pistons and there were indications of
extreme lean angles on some external parts.
If I have learned anything from this
experience it is buy the extended warranty.
To date the repair bills would have cost me
in excess of $6,000 dollars. I do want to say
that Crofton Honda Power sports team and
Honda have been great trying to resolve this
issue. There have been a few times looking
back I feel things should have proceeded in
a more timely basis. The current status after
many replaced gears, shafts and bearings is
it sill has a problem(s). The area Honda
representative is due to take it for another
th
test drive March 9 . It is ride-able and this
weekend will be the second weekend in as
many months I have had it to ride. It will be
th
staying with me until the 9 of March when it
goes back to the shop. So any nice days on
the weekends I will most likely be “buzzing”
down the road. Hope to see everyone soon.

GWRRA Region “B” has some
sad news to share with you all. Our friend
and fellow volunteer Wayne Ketenheim has
passed away. He died sometime early
Sunday morning, February 11th. For those
who may not have known, Wayne & Cathie
have been our Region “B” CPR/FA
coordinators for some time. Our heart felt
condolences go out to Cathie and all the
Ketenheim family.
Al & Jackie are preparing an educating
subject for all of us next month.
Ride Coordinator
Ron Willingham
Ron will return next month with his article.
