back on our 90 year history, I want to thank every Employee and every Customer who supported our
company. I believe that these relationships allowed us to deliver this promise since 1924. I want to
ensure that we continue to live by my Great Grandfather's Christian principles with the constant
dedication to Keeping Customers on the Road™."

1924 was the year of the Ford Model T
from the White House and the beginning
of Bergey’s legacy in the transportation
industry.
In May of 1924, Norman L. Bergey
opened Franconia Garage in Franconia, PA.
Converted from a horse-shoeing shop, the
2-car auto repair garage gainfully employed
3 mechanics. Because of Norman's
businessman's savvy and gentleman's
code, Franconia Garage thrived, even
during the Great Depression. Understanding
the importance of family, Norman's sons
became part owners of the business in 1956
and renamed the shop Bergey's Garage.
Throughout its 90-year history, Bergey's
has remained a family-owned business.
Although it has expanded with new products,
services, locations and state-of-the-art
technology, Bergey’s foundations have and
always will be at the core of the company.
Norman's drive for quality customer
service, commitment to excellence and
promise to always treat customers the way
that he wanted to be treated are instilled in
the very marrow of Bergey’s.

A Volvo medium-duty truck franchise
is added to GMC in Franconia, PA.
Norman L. Bergey opens Franconia
Garage, an auto repair shop with 3 employees.
1924
A Volvo White Autocar heavy-duty
truck franchise is added to Franconia, PA.
Bergey's opens retread plant in
Franconia, PA with capacity of 20 tires a day.
1948
Bergey’s named Dealer of the Year by
Volvo Trucks North America.
1956
Bergey’s Truck Collision Center in
Franconia expands with 4,000 sq. ft. addition.
Norman’s sons become part owners
of business and change the name to Bergey’s
Garage.

expands with new service, parts and leasing
offices.
1964 Franconia facility expands for auto
work and diesel overhauls.

Mark Bergey is promoted to
President of Bergey’s Truck Centers.

O’Shea Truck Center in Trenton, NJ.
