BALAI LINGKUNGAN KEAIRAN
Balai Lingkungan Keairan berdiri sejak tahun 1968 dan telah merintis upaya‐upaya pengelolaan kualitas air,
pengendalian pencemaran air, pengembangan jaringan pemantauan kualitas air, pembinaan kemampuan
laboratorium daerah dan pengembangan kriteria dan baku mutu air serta penyusunan pedoman/standar
pengelolaan kualitas air di Indonesia.
Balai Lingkungan Keairan ini memiliki tenaga ahli dan
tenaga teknis multi disiplin, fasilitas gedung, laboratorium
dan perangkat lunak yang mampu melaksanakan
pelayanan untuk:
 penunjangan ilmiah/advis teknis, litbang pengelolaan
kualitas air dan pengendalian pencemaran air;
 pelayanan pengujian kualitas air, air limbah,
balai lingkungan keairan
sedimen/lumpur/tanah, bio‐assay, dan pengolahan
air/ air limbah;
 pelayanan jasa konsultasi teknis, pembinaaan teknis,
pemantauan kualitas air, teknologi pengolahan
air/limbah dan strategi pengendalian pencemaran air.
Sejak Juni 2004 Laboratorium Lingkungan Keairan telah
mendapat akreditasi dari Komite Akreditasi Nasional (KAN)
sebagai Laboratorium Pengujian dalam bidang/jasa
pengujian kualitas sumber‐sumber air dan air limbah.
Lingkup kegiatan litbang meliputi pengelolaan kualitas air
dan air limbah (kimia, fisika, biologi dan sedimen suspensi),
baku mutu lingkungan keairan, pencemaran air,
pengolahan dan pengelolaan air limbah, daya dukung
sumber air, instrumentasi pemantauan kualitas air, dan lain‐
lain, serta penyusunan Norma, Standar, Pedoman dan
Manual yang berkaitan dengan pengelolaan kualitas air/
lingkungan keairan.
Water Treatment Plant for Peat Water
Since 1968, the Experimental Station for Water Resources
Environment has conducted a series of measures on water
quality management, water pollution control, water
quality monitoring development system as well as
technical guidance for empowerment of regional and local
water quality laboratories.
In addition, a number of water quality criteria and water
quality standards have been initiated, including
contribution to the establishment of the guidelines/
standard for water quality management in Indonesia.
Combined Waste Water Treatment Plant in Cisirung ‐ Bandung
The experimental station activities are supported by
various multidisciplinary technical expertise, building
and office facilities, and laboratory instruments
compounded with related software. Thus, that can be
able to undertake a number of services including among
others :
 scientific backbone/technical advices on water
quality management as well as water quality tests
and pollution control;
 laboratory tests on waste water, sediment/sludge/
soil, bioassay, and water/wastewater treatment;
 consultancy services, technical guidance on water
quality monitoring, waste water treatment
technology, and strategy for water pollution
control.
Since June 2004, the Environmental and Water Quality
Laboratory has been accredited by the Indonesian
Accreditation National Committee (KAN) as National
Standardization Agency (BSN) for research and testing
on water quality of water resources and waste water.
The research and development activities on water
resources environment included water and waste water
quality (chemical, physical, biological and suspended
sediment), water quality criteria, water pollution, waste
water/water teatment, wasteload carrying capacity of
water resources, water quality monitoring
instrumentation, and the compilation of norms,
standards, guidelines, and manuals relating to water
resources environment and water quality management.
