Almond Leaves (Terminalia catappa)
A grade almond leaves are now available, directly imported from Thailand. Two sizes are available: pouches (tea bag) and leaves from 7 inches to 12 inches. The almond leaf is one of the most popular ingredients used by experienced fish breeders. It is known for its antiseptic, antifungal, tonic and acidifying
properties. Once immersed in water, the leaf releases its natural compounds and tannin over a period of
ten to twelve days. The pouch of almond leaves, similar to the tea bag, is ideal for small water volumes,
such as jars and aquariums up to 5 gallons.
Stagnant water in a jar is more conducive to the proliferation of pathogenic bacterias, natural
properties of this leaf provide a superior water quality between each maintenance and a more
appropriate and natural aquatic environment for your fish. Its usefulness for breeding Betta
splendens and other bubble nest builders is proven.
The bettas greatly benefit from this leaf which stimulates breeding conditions. The leaf serves
as a physical shelter under which the male will build its bubble nest. The bubble nest building
is more effective because of the tannin, the bubbles are stickier and also more resistant.

Live food for betta fry
You wish to breed your bettas? Make sure you have one or more strains of live cultures in handy, because the betta fries
will only eat live preys during their first weeks of life. To help you meet the challenge, we offer three different live food cultures
(Microworm, Walter worm and Banana worm).
Microworm culture.
The microworm (Anguillula silusiae) is part of the nematodes family (plant parasites and
scavengers). It is a tiny white worm measuring 1.0 mm to 3.0 mm long. The microworm has
a high fat content. Indeed, it contains 48% protein and 31% fat. It is therefore ideally used
as a nutritional supplement and not as a single and only food.
Walter worm culture.
The Walter worm is related to the microworm, but is only about half the size (0.5 mm to 1.5
mm) of the microworm. The Walter worm contains 59% protein and 18% fat, so 11% more
protein and 13% less fat than the microworm. It is more nutritious and much more prolific.
The Walter worm can live up to several hours immersed in water where it can remain suspended longer.
Banana worm culture.
The banana worm is the smallest of the three worm strains available and has the higher protein content. Its length is less than half of the
microworm, it contains 60% protein and 23% fat. It is a perfect food for very small fry like betta fry, Killifish, Apistogramma and so on. In
addition, it can live up to 24 hours immersed in water.
