Exceptions: An exception is permitted only under the following conditions: The rule-making organization must be a statewide USEF Affiliated Association. State exceptions can apply only in shows held within that state. State specifications must have been published and sent to each member of the state association, each member of the Zone 7 Committee, USEF and the manager of every show that applies for State Association recognition or sanction. State rules that are valid exceptions to the general Zone 7 specifications can be more restrictive, but can not reduce or eliminate any of the Zone 7 stated criteria spelled out above and must be printed in their entirety under the applicable section heading in the prize list. Children's/Adult Amateur Hunter Classic: Any competition which offers an Adult Amateur Hunter or a Children's Hunter section may also offer an Adult Amateur Classic and/or a Children's Hunter Classic in accordance with HU136 with the following exceptions; 1.) Bonus points for Zone Horse of the Year Awards will be awarded as follows: 1st- 10, 2nd - 8, 3rd - 7, 4th - 6, 5th - 5, 6th - 4, 7th - 3, 8th - 2. 2.) Classics must offer at least $500 in prize money; 3.) Height and spread of fences to be the same as the requirements for the respective section; 4.) Riders are not required to wear special attire as described in HU136.5 but must wear protective headgear in accordance with GR318.2 and .3. All Current eligibility requirements must be met. Children's Hunter Pony: Open to ponies ridden by a Junior Exhibitor with no other age restrictions applicable. Rider and/or horse may enter any Equitation classes. The rider may compete on a different horse or pony at the same show in any other division or section for which the rider/mount is eligible. The pony may be shown by a different rider in any other division or section at the same show except USEF Rated Hunter Pony classes. To be judged on performance, soundness, manners, way of going, suitability of size of rider to mount, and suitability as a Children's Hunter. Ponies may be jogged for soundness at management's discretion. Small ponies to be shown at 2', Medium Ponies at 2'3", and Large Ponies at 2'6"; spreads not to exceed height of fence. No minimum prize money is required. Pre-Green Hunter: A Pre-Green horse is a horse of any age that has never shown in a recognized USEF Regular Member or Local Member show over fences 3"6" or higher. A horse may show in the Pre-Green Hunter Section of an USEF Zone VII Recognized Competition for no more than two years. Pre-Green Classics will be awarded points equal to those given in USEF "B" Hunter Classics. Fence Heights 3' and/or 3'3". Show management may offer two sections of Pre-Green Hunter. Management may offer Pre-Green Htr 3' and/or Pre-Green Htr 3'3". If management offers both sections of Pre-Green Htr, exhibitors may enter either section, but not both sections at their discretion. Zone awards will be presented annually as one section. Adult Amateur Jumper: To be ridden by Amateurs who are no longer eligible to compete as Junior Exhibitors. Cash winnings do not influence this classification. Children's Jumper: To be ridden by Junior Exhibitors. Cash winnings do not influence this classification. Class conditions for Adult Amateur and Children's Jumper: The first two classes in the Low Adult Amateur and/or Children’s Jumper section will be conducted at Jumping Level 2. The third and any subsequent classes in the Low section to include a classic will be conducted at Jumping Level 3. The first two classes in the High Adult Amateur and/or Children’s Jumper section will be conducted at Jumping Level 3. The third and any subsequent classes in the High section to include a classic will be conducted at Jumping Level 4. If only one section is offered, the classes will be conducted under Jumping level 3 for all classes offered in the section. Competition Management may restrict cross entries between High and Low sections at the same show if stated in the prize list. Courses must be set, and/or adjusted if necessary, to provide safe and suitable distances between jumps in relation to fence heights. Classes to be scored under Table I; Table II, Section 1, Section 2(a), 2(b), 2(c), or 3; or Table IV, or Table V (Optimum Time). Cross entry into Junior or Amateur Owner Jumper or any class at level 5 and above is not permitted for the same horse/rider combination at the same show. A combined Adult Amateur/Children's Jumper section may be offered, and if entries warrant, may thereafter be split into separate sections. Every class offered herein is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF rule book and will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. $25,000 Grand Prix of Tyler ENTRIES: Entries close April 7 for weeks 1 and 2 and May 5 for weeks 3 and 4. New entries (new or different horses) made after these dates will incur a one time late fee of $35.00. Every Entry Blank must have the signature of the owner/authorized agent, trainer & be accompanied by a stall check or open check. It is the responsibility of the person making the entry to execute properly and complete all necessary information pertaining to each entry made in accordance with USEF rules. NO NUMBERS WILL BE ISSUED WITHOUT AN OPEN CHECK. CURRENT COGGINS MUST BE PRESENTED TO THE HORSE SHOW OFFICE. There will be a $35.00 office/services fee for every horse on the show grounds that will cover ring schooling, scratches, and adds. Management reserves the right to refuse any entry for any reason. Horses, on the grounds, not entered in any classes, must have a completed entry blank on file in the office and will be charged a $100 non-showing fee per week. *Warning: Horses that compete in a class in which they are not properly entered will be charged a double entry fee. Once a horse has competed in the first class of an “A” rated hunter section, the division entry fee cannot be refunded. *Attention foreign exhibitors: All fees MUST be paid in “US Funds”. Class 603 Entry Fee $475 Declarations are due by 12:00 PM Saturday. In order to compete horses must be on the grounds 24 hours prior to the scheduled start of the class. USEF rules in effect. Within the 24 hour period, prior to the class, horses must have their numbers displayed at all times. Schooling will be restricted to a designated area only. Formal attire required. Rider/horse bios required. Nominating Fee required. Cost per permanent stall is $200. Cost per temporary stall is $150. Stall assignments will be on a first come, first serve basis. NO STALL ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE MADE WITHOUT PAYMENT OR AN OPEN CHECK FOR EACH WEEK. Feed, Hay, and Bedding will be available on the show grounds. Bedding may be ordered in advance by contacting the FACILITY OFFICE AT 903-882-8696 or by utilizing the advance order form located in this publication. Manure is to be disposed of in designated areas only. NO MANURE IN TRASH CONTAINERS. No stall doors or panels may be removed. A $50.00 Grounds Fee will be charged for all horses not purchasing a stall. NO OUTSIDE SHAVINGS ALLOWED. Please refer to the Texas Rose Horse Park Top 10 Rules for additional information. COGGINS TEST: Texas law requires that each horse be accompanied by a negative EIA certificate dated within one year. PLEASE ATTACH A COPY OF YOUR HORSES’ COGGINS TO YOUR ENTRY. REFUNDS: STALL FEES CANNOT BE REFUNDED AFTER April 7 (weeks 1 and 2) and/or May 5 (weeks 3 & 4). Entry fees will not be refunded after April 7/May 5, respectively, unless a certificate of illness or injury prepared by an accredited veterinarian, or a doctor’s note regarding rider illness/injury, is presented to the secretary before the start of the show. Once the show has started, proper notification of the scratch must be made in the office BEFORE the start of the classes being scratched. In either case the entry fees will be refunded less any nominating fees, stall fee, and an office processing charge of $35.00. HARD HATS MUST BE WORN WHILE JUMPING. DOGS: Dogs are not permitted to be loose on competition grounds and must be on a leash or otherwise contained. Individuals must not lead dogs on a leash while mounted. Dog owners failing to comply with this rule may be subject to penalty under Chapters 6 and 7, as well as issuance of warning cards pursuant to rule GR 301. In addition, pursuant to facility regulations, loose dogs will be removed by animal control, from the show grounds, at the owner’s expense. JUMP ORDER: Show Management will determine a rotating jump order for all classes over fences. Riders or Trainers with conflicts must see the paddock masters in both rings so that the necessary adjustments can be made. Starters have the authority to scratch entries that make no attempt to be timely, without going through the Steward or Show Manager. COURSES: Courses will be posted a minimum of one hour prior to each class. In Hunter classes, fences will simulate fences found in the hunt field such as; brush, wall, in & out, oxer, post and rails, and gates. At management’s discretion, a dotted line may be put into effect to restrict the size of the courtesy circle in hunter classes. POLING: Manual poling and the use of Bamboo Offsets are prohibited at all times on the Show Grounds.
