Founder’s Message
Bharati Vidyapeeth was established in
May 1964, with the objectives of
contributing to the intellectual awakening
and social transformation-taking place in
the educational, economical, social and
cultural spheres across India, and
particularly in Maharashtra. Its activities
have been designed to bring about
progress and welfare of different sections
of population, especially women, and
tribal and rural people.
Under the imaginative, dynamic and
socially committed leadership of the
founder Dr. Patangrao Kadam, Bharati
Vidyapeeth has made astonishing strides
in the field of education during a short
span of 49 years.

The Government of India (Ministry of
Human Resources Development) on the
recommendation of University Grants
Commission, New Delhi, has accorded the
status of a Deemed University to Bharati
Vidyapeeth. It became a Deemed
University w.e.f. May 10, 1996.
Till date Bharati Vidyapeeth has
established a total of 148 institutes
across Maharashtra & Delhi, covering all
the majors’ fields of education, right from
primary education up to the higher levels
of institutes of management, pharmacy,
law, medicine, dentistry, architect,
catering,
engineering

retail
management.

We at AKIMSS are amazed at its continuous growth
as a provider of quality education. In last 40 years of
its existence, it has already created a place for itself.
Through many years of its existence, AKIMSS has
been able to remain academically closely aligned to
dynamic needs of fast globalizing Indian economy.
The open economy provides many opportu nities
but, on the flip side of these opportunities are the

About Solapur City
SOLAPUR is one of the important district of
Maharashtra State of India. It is located in the
southern part of Maharshtra.. The district
consists of eleven Talukas. The head-quarter of
North Solapur and South Solapur Taluka is the
Solapur city itself.
The famous religious places like Pandharpur
and Akkalkot are in Solapur district only. The
famous Lord Shiv Temple Sidheshwar is in
Solapur City. The Bhagwant Mandir of Barshi is
well known. Sant Damaji of Mangalwedha is
also one of the important personalities of the
district. Solapur has its own history. Once it
was known as Textile Capital. It was also known
as the Labour city in olden days. It is one of the
Textile hub and well known for Solapuri
Chadder’s.
Solapur is transport hub connecting
Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
It is well connected by Road, Rail & Airport to
major districts and cities. The national
highways 9, 13 and 211 pass through Solapur
city.
One can get down at Solapur to proceed to
famous religious place Tuljapur which is just 48
kms from Solapur city but is located in
Osmanabad district and even if one wants to
proceed towards Bijapur, a famous historica l
place, 98 kms from Solapur.

In the last decade Bharati Vidyapeeth University
(BVDU) has emerged as a global university
with a wide offering of programs and courses
spanning varied educational faculties.
BVDU today boasts of a state-of-the-art
infrastructure, sprawling campuses, extensive
teaching and learning facilities, library and
research facilities.
Today, Bharati Vidyapeeth University has
32 constituent units and is one of India's
largest
multi-disciplinary
multi-campus
universities. Over the years BVU has
contributed thousands of well trained graduates,
post graduates and research doctorates to the
pool of professionals in India and abroad.
In line with its Motto of “Social transformation through Dynamic education” BVU nurtures a holistic education
approach that not only academically enriches the students, but also contributes to the students’ personality by

The University Grants Commission which is the apex body concerned with higher education in India made an
assessment of the academic excellence achieved by the institutions of Bharati Vidyapeeth through a committee of
experts and on the recommendation of the UGC, the Government of India accorded the status of "Deemed to be
University" to twelve institutions of Bharati Vidyapeeth in Pune on 26th April, 1996 vide their notification No. F.9
15/95-U.3.
Later in July 2000 the Government of India on the recommendation of University Grants Commission and the All
India Councilfor Technical Education brought three more institutions within the ambit of Bharati Vidyapeeth
Deemed University vide their notification - No. F 9-15/95-4-3 dated 28th July, 2000.
The University Grants Commission vide their Letter No. F.No. 3-2/90 (CPP-1) dated 17th August 2002, have agreed
to bring two more research institutions within the ambit of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University.
The University is a member of Association of Indian Universities and the Association of Commonwealth
Universities. It is really credible for this nascent University to have received ‘A’ Grade from the National
Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Some of the constituent units of the University have also been
accredited with ‘A’ Grade by the National Board
of
Accreditation.
All the technical/professional colleges have been recognized by the concerned apex bodies in India, like Medical
Council of India, Dental Council of India, Central Council of Indian Medicine, All India Council for Technical
Education (AICTE), Pharmacy Council of India, and Bar Council of India etc.
BVU meticulously follows its annual time table of admissions and examinations. All its constituents units have
created and maintained the tradition of commencing their academic sessions latest by 15th June every year.

Open access facility is available for
the students through which
students are allowed to enter into
the area where the books are kept.
The students can see the availability
of books inside the library and
accordingly allowed to issue the
books at home.

can directly pick up them and read it
in the reading room.

Technology Centres
The Institute houses specious
class rooms, conference and
seminar halls. The Institute has a
special skill lab for developing the
managerial skills of the students.
All the rooms and halls are aptly
ventilated and lighted.
The students are provided with
audio visual aids for learning like

students have a special dress code
including blazers.
There is a special internet lab where
students can access to Internet. An

Programme Offered
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
The Programmes of the Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University are conceived and executed under
properly organized schedule and professional culture. The authorities of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed
University have created their own systems of monitoring the programmes in most effective manner.
The courses are of TWO year duration divided into FOUR SEMESTERS, each of six MONTHS duration,
for teaching and examination purposes. The Semesters I, II together constitute Part- I of the Course;
while Semesters III, IV together constitute Part- II. There will be an examination at the end of each

The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Programme is a full time three-year programme
offered by Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune and conducted at its Management
Institutes in Pune, Kolhapur, Sangli, Karad, New Mumbai and Solapur.
The expectations and requirements of the Software Industry, immediately and the near
future are visualized while designing the MCA programme. This effort is reflected in the
Vision and Mission statements of the MCA program. MCA Programme is of pattern choice
