Overview
Barbourville Utility Commission is proud to announce the new partnership with
Rackspace hosting to provide our customers with unparalleled uptime and security for
email. Rackspace was founded in 1998 and has been an industry leader in IT services for
over a decade. This document explains the steps needed to connect your browsers,
devices and clients to the Rackspace email solution.
Recommendations
Since this is a new service, we recommend that you access your account using webmail
first. This will allow you to change your password before you attempt to connect mobile
devices and client software like Microsoft Outlook. Changing your password is listed in
the next section.

Accessing your email from a browser






Open your PC's Browser
Navigate to the address: http://barbourville.mymailsrvr.com
Enter your email address, example, [email protected]
 Note that this email address is the SAME that you have had
Your default password is:
o Password1
You will now see a familiar webmail interface
Email, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Notes are all in the expected areas

Changing your password


Click the menu icon in the top right corner of the webmail interface
Click Settings

The option to change your password is at the bottom
Connecting Microsoft Outlook

Open your Outlook client * mail settings in Control Panel

Click E-mail Accounts
* For this example, Outlook 2013 is being used


Highlight your existing profile and click Remove
Click New to add your new profile

Choose Microsoft Exchange, POP or IMAP, or HTTP
Click Next - Note – You will be using IMAP

Choose Manually Configure…. And click Next


Choose Internet Email and click Next

Fill out the fields as seen below changing the fields that are particular
to you. The ones in RED stay as shown

Click More Settings
On the Outgoing Server tab, check “My outgoing server…”
Click OK

Click the Advanced Tab
Enter the Incoming and Outgoing mail server settings as see below,
making sure to change the drop downs to SSL

Click Close once the tests have completed successfully

Double click the Email icon on your Android’s Desktop


Add your email address and your password
Click Manual Setup

Choose IMAP



Your user name (Email address) and password will already be present
Fill out the three additional fields exactly as seen below
Click Next

Ensure that all fields are completed as seen below
User name and password are specific to your account
Click Next


Default Settings are usually acceptable
Click Next

Ensure that the fields are completed the way you want
These are up to you and won’t affect the setup
Click Next

You will now see the following screen

When you see this, your email setup is complete!

Connecting your iPad or iPhone Device

Click Settings from your desktop

Under Mail, Contacts, Calendars, click Add Account as seen towards the top

Click Other at the bottom of the list

Click Add Mail Account

The Name (1st) and Description (4th) fields are up to you
Email and Password should reflect what you have
Click Next in the top right when complete



Choose IMAP
The first three fields should already be filled in
Add the appropriate fields as seen below

You will now see your email account listed as seen below

You will now be able to access your email!
