Workplace Learning Connection (WLC), a small but mighty department of Kirkwood
Community College, celebrates and reports another successful year of building partnerships and providing
work-based learning connections for our regional students, educators and business community! As you
will see in this report, the WLC Team provided over 26,000 K-12 career experiences during the 2015-2016
school year. These amazing levels of program delivery are supported by our dedicated WLC staff, valued
school partners, an engaging business community and a healthy system of stakeholder financial support.
Our most sincere thanks to the “team of supporters” listed on this page.
WLC staff value the relationships with partner agencies, school districts, community
foundations, employers, and all the individual volunteers who freely share of their time, passion and
purpose in their chosen careers. Together, we are performing the important work of connecting today’s
students to tomorrow’s careers. These connections benefit our communities, our economy, and build
awareness of high demand career opportunities and post-secondary education and training options for
literally thousands of young Iowans...our future workforce!
