Kallah 3015”
The future of the
Jewish people, the
future of NFTY, and the
future of ourselves
Communications Corner
Hey NFTY-NO!
I can’t believe this is already our last
event of the year (and the last KESH of the
year!) I feel like it was yesterday that I was
on the bus to #SumKa15. I can’t thank you
enough for the opportunity to take part in
leading this region; from push weeks to
programs to running the social media
accounts to making the KESH and more. It’s
been a blast and you have no idea how
special this region is.
I’ve always been told, “cherish your
time in NFTY, because it goes faster than
you think”, but it didn’t hit me until I was
writing this, because I have exactly 1 year
left with you all. So if you get anything out
of my little shpiel, let it be this: participate
in that program or service. Sing during
siyum. Befriend that kid in the corner.
Dance and sing on Shabbat. Ditch your
school event for a kallah or TYG event. Call
your NFTY friend who lives in a different
state. Spend as much time as you can with
your friends from NFTY, but don’t forget to
make new ones. Your NFTY experience will
be as amazing as you make it. Let’s make
this upcoming year even more amazing!!
Love,
Abby Shiff

Abby Loew Senior Will Abby Shiff: I will you the memory of that super awkward Fall at your house when we got all of the allergic people. I will to you this will because I know how annoying it must be that I’m sending it in at the last second. Emma Pelc: I will to you the 45 minute drive I took to get to you this summer and the flat bread we ate at the Lunds. I won’t forget that day; we had so much fun laughing at our lesbian tendencies and the test we took that I cannot remember the name of.. I will to you the memory of your Halloween party.. yikes. I will to you the countless boob grabbing pictures all over the internet. I will to you my TATs. Long live #Abma! Maddy Porter: I will to you the Step Brotherslike moment we had when we found out we had the same birthday (“Did we just become best friends?” “Yup!”... that one). I will to you my costume at THAT Halloween. Max Lewin: I will to you Rand Phillip’s and Noah Gerber’s floor. Rand, Max Lewin, Noah Gerber: I will to you three the memory of the night we met at SPORTY’s event when we brought in that Canadian singer dude guy? You three were immediately very welcoming (; Rand Phillips: You have been the unexpected hero of my NFTY career. I met you the night of that SPORTY event and my next memory of you is octopus kissing me at OSRUI at a sumka. I will to you the memories of the many bonfires at your house that have brought me closer to so many more NFTYites. I will to you all of the raindrops that fell this past weekend during our drive and all of the rays of sunshine on the way back. You’ve always been the one to push me to come to the next event or even write this will and I thank you for all of it. Phoebe Ellis: I will to you my awkward toot that made us friends because you were the only one that heard it and laughed and I was already dying and ugh so good. Dan Scal: I will to you THAT Halloween, no regrets. Sophia Weber: Hey girly, we have so many memories but few through NFTY so I’m just gonna shed light on the embarrassing stuff. I will to you the time you got stuck in the bunk bed, the time you taught me to wall twerk at Abby Dallet’s house, and the time we stuck an apple in a jar and hid it at someone’s house. I also have to will you my existence in NFTY at all because you introduced it to me and made me go to sophomore Spring. I love you tons and tons, but you already know that :* Lauren Krasnoff: I think if I have one regret in NFTY, it’s not getting to know you well enough. But of the two most important memories we have, the moment we met and the moment we parted, I have no regrets. When we met you were hella snotty and I felt so bad that you didn’t want to be there and then to walking together at our senior circle, I’m glad I met you and that I can consider you my friend. I will to you our friendship. Emily Birz: You’ve made me feel normal for being emotional and I genuinely cannot thank you enough for that you will forever be my tear buddy. I will to you a lifetime supply of Kleenex. You’ve always been the one to come find me and hug me at the start of every event, even if I thought no one knew me? So thank you for being so welcoming and so loving of everyone around you, you are a light in my life. I also will you a lifetime of hugs. All Seniors: You guys have been amazing. Honestly. I joined NFTY after everyone had already made very tightknit friendships and you have all been willing to get to know me over the weekends. That inclusiveness has brought me back every Kallah, and Rand yelling at me but hey it helped (; Lauren Krasnoff’s Senior Will

I’m glad you stuck with it until the end. Jonathan Vercammen: I will to you all the love I will ever be able to produce, every time we’ve housed together, the missing DS, the clipboard banana, the spider, the ass spider, the big ass spider, the huge ass spider, the time you gave me half of your yellow paper at winter. Sydney Spanier: I will to you your unending sass, high school life at Saint Louis Park, Fwitter, every good talk we’ve had, the fact that I was at your Bat Mitzvah and didn’t know you. I’m really proud of the passion you have for the region. Send it on to the younger kids to keep it growing. Natalie KoganWhite: I will to you Max Taylor, every time we hanged out in 8th grade, our old super bowl parties, that time I had a crush on you after you had a crush on me after I had a crush on you after you had a crush on me at JYG, the time that we hanged out with Elsie and Sean, when Sean wanted to fight me for you, and every guy I broke you up with to get to you. I’m always surprised at the spirit you show wherever you go. You give me hope for people accepting one another for who they are. Alana Turnbull: I will to you the nickname Birdie, your sass, and the fact that I didn’t recognize you when you joined NFTY because of how grown up you are now. Emma Wallace: I will to you a year and a half of wasted NFTY crush time, as friends?, every time I’ve heard you sing because your voice is beautiful, part of my life because you helped me when I needed it, the time you actually kissed me, and all of our facetimes. Andrea Seiler: I will to you the immense pride I have in you. The fact that I know you’re going places and there isn’t a single thing that is getting in your way and I’m so grateful for the times I have spent with you. Keep doing you and always know that an immovable object is only there to be proven wrong by people like you. Emma Pelc: I will to your parents, the fact that I’m the daughter your mother never had, advice from your dad, our sibling love, the time I accidentally checked you out, every argument we’ve ever had, the time we watched the Super Bowl, every time you were there when I needed you, and the endless memories that we’ve had as basically brother and sister. Just remember you’re always better than what you think you are. If you think you’re good then you’re great. If you think you’re great then you’re outstanding. Emily Birz: I will to you our journal, the fact that I am so proud of everything you’ve accomplished, my happiness, late night facetimes, that time you stayed with me for Jew Prom, the tire you blew up, every time you've cried, 'How Far We've Come', the worst rainstorm I've ever driven in, and every time you've stayed with me. I’m so thankful for every moment we’ve spent together and I hope you know that I’m only a few taps on a screen away. I’ll always be there no matter what. You’re important and I’ll always remember the time we had together. Just remember that anything you see wrong with yourself other people will show you that it’s actually right. Abby Shiff: I will to you my skill in CAH because you’re bad at it. Hold on to the ideas you have, make sure you take action on them. That’s how you’ll really live your own life. Avia KanerRoth: I don’t know where to start willing you things. But I’m starting here I guess, I will to you my jacket. I also will to you every time we’ve hanged out at yours, every time someone asked if we’re related, or dating, Dav’s support in our friendship, the first time we hanged out and went to Tea Garden, every time you make sure I’m politically correct, the motivation you’ve given me this last year, the Dells, the time we drove up to Duluth together, and every one of my sweatshirts. I could go on. You’re the closest person in my life and there isn’t going to be a goodbye here. It’s a see you later. You're going places. You're not even shooting for the stars because they're too close. You're going to show the world what we can do and make a change. You've changed my life for the better and I couldn't be more thankful. I'm can't wait for you to show me the world and for me to show you the stars. I’m looking forward to seeing the world with you. Max Lewin: I will to you my life. I wouldn’t be here without you and I will never thank you enough for that. I will to you every time you and I have said the same thing simultaneously, the time we washed our clothes together and didn’t realize we have the same underwear, Hawaiian shirts, tie dye, the logic we don’t use, every memory we’ve ever shared, the perfectly timed photo, frisbee, my croc hat, your thinking hat, every single lady we call mom, that time we fought over Ari, the time we traded places and had dinner with each other’s family, lego sets, the missing DS, pizza night, testosterone, Scruffy, Plank, The Brow, that time we wrestled at Sarah’s, and the fact that I was your first kiss. You're MY BEST FRIEND. You're one of the reasons I'm around today. You're one of the reasons I am what I am today. You're one of the reasons I have any social skills. I'm so glad we've made the memories we've had and I can't wait for the rest. I also will to you Kayla. 8th Grade Rand: I will to you that time Emma Wallace kissed you and Natalie KoganWhite kissed you right after. The last will and testament of Phoebe Star Ellis as NFTY knows her (if NFTY knows her at all)
Dear NFTY,
I’m not going to sit here and lie to you, I just can’t do this anymore. There was a time in my
life when I thought I needed you, and maybe I did, but I don’t anymore.
Dear 8th graders, and really anybody who isn’t a senior,
If you aren’t trying to improve the world and the community around you, you are doing
something wrong.
Dear Seniors,
Honestly I can’t say that we’ve ever been all that close, you guys and I, and I regret that, but
maybe our paths will cross somewhere along the line and we might get a little closer. We’ll see what
happens, I’m not going to force any relationships.
Dear Advisors,
Wow. Really, WOW. Thank you for everything you do, you are exactly what hold NFTY
together, some days you are all that holds some of us teens together, thank you.
Dear Lisa, Frankie, Sophia Weber,
We had some fun, some laughs, some tears, some cuddles, and some showers. Until next
time. Cheers.
Dear Ani and Oleeyah,
We don’t talk often, we don’t have to, we just know we love each other, and I deeply
appreciate that that’s enough. Thank you.
Dear SPORTY,
You are my everything, all of my involvement is because of (and for) you SPORTY. Never
stop striving to be better.

I will you moving out of Kenosha, the land between CAR and NO, to do bigger and better things! My name is Noah Gerber and this is my senior will. I know I’m supposed to “hand down” memories or jokes or belongings, but I’d rather just take this as an opportunity to say my goodbyes and tell people things that I normally wouldn’t. So that’s what I’ll do. To Sam Weber, Corey Steinhauser, Ruthie Salita, Josh MacGregor, and Anna Perleberg: You all are the future of SPORTY. I’m so proud of how much you’ve grown as SpoBo, and I know you guys will do great next year. To the SPORTY freshman, sophomores, and juniors not on SPORTY board: you are also the future of SPORTY. Keep coming back to SPORTY events even if you’re not on board, because you’re just as much a part of SPORTY as the board members. (But still run for SpoBo16-‐17) To Evan Porter and Quinn Shragg: you guys are some clowns. Stay in NFTY and stay friends, because your friendship is a great one that everyone could learn from, and NFTY has so much to offer that you guys might not realize yet. Evan you’re a little shit, but you’re a fun little shit, and Quinn, never forget that you have me as a friend, never forget that your NFTY friends will always have your back, never let just one person stop you from doing something you love, and never stop loving the Vikings, even when they suck. To Faith Bloomdahl: you’re my pal. I remember meeting you when you were a little 8th grader and now you’re a sophomore and my mind is blown. Keep up the singing, because you’re real good at it. To Peri Yarosh: remember when we talked at the musket game? Good times. Keep the Central NFTY jew legacy alive. To Melissa Bernstein: watch out for those nutmegs, they’ll getcha. To Emma Pelc: Fun times were had. I love the love that we share for Breaking Bad. Maybe one day we can start up a meth lab that is the front for an underground fried chicken ring. To Mikaela Bush: You have a pretty house. And adorable dogs. And some fire cherry tomatoes. You always put up with Connor and my shenanigans, and I thank you for that. To Margo Strifert: I only see you like once a year, but I still love you and am humored by the rugs that line the walls of your room. Come to Saint Paul sometime. To Max Lewin: We rarely hung out, but when we did I had a great time, and there were a few times when I needed a friend to talk to and you always came through. I’m proud of what you’ve done as president. You did a way better job than I could have. You should consider sk8r hair again, you rocked it. To Asher Weisberg: If only we could have stayed in that meat basement forever… that would have been perfection. I love spending time with you and every time I see you I laugh (not at your appearance, just, like, laugh with you). One of these times I’ll come to one of your shows and we can have love times. To Natalie Kogan-‐White: I love your sense of humor. You’re one of my oldest friends in NFTY, and since day 1 I’ve always have a good time when I’m around you. I’d like to take this opportunity to formally and publicly forgive you for breaking up with me in 7th grade. While, at the time, I was somewhat devastated, looking back now I can say that it built character and made me a stronger man (Well I wasn’t a man yet because my Bar Mitzvah wasn’t for another few months but now I am an emotionally stronger man). Thank you. To Phoebe Ellis: We used to chase each other around Mount Zion in Kindergarten and now we’re graduating NFTY together. It’s crazy how time flies. I am perpetually in awe at how good of a person you are and at your social skills. You are comfortable in any and every situation, and it’s incredible. I love Phoebe. To Rand Phillips: I have so many memories with you. There have been times over the years when we didn’t see eye-‐to-‐eye, but despite any disagreements you’ve always been there for me, and I love and thank you for that. I have a profound respect for you, and you’ll always be like a brother to me. To Mari Duckler: Mari, you wonderful, talented girl. Even though we did none of the many Disney duets I had dreamed of us doing together, we can still do them when your broadway show comes to wherever I live. Thank you for being there when I needed someone to talk to, and thank you for being my friend despite my endless number of clownfish jokes. I love our relationship, and I wish I had more friendships like ours. To Emma Wallace: You are the ultimate tot, the glorious fry, my potate. *raises glass* here’s to the Saturday night of summer kallah after freshman year, to tonight when I’m writing this right after I got off facetime with you, and everything in between. We’ve had ups and downs but we’ve been able to HASH out any downs, and now we’re as close as two potatoes in a potato sack. Don’t forget about me when you go off to learn how to be a Butler. To Lexi Hilton: I think we’ve gotten a lot closer this year, and I’m really happy about that. You always listen when I want to complain about something, and I always enjoy our post-‐meeting talks and our occasional facetimes. I’ll miss seeing you every week next year... unless we go to the same college, in which case you’ll probably get tired of seeing my face every day. To Sophie Weber: Sophia Weber, O how I love you. Since my first event you’ve been there for me unconditionally: you give me advice when I need it; you put me in check when I do something stupid; you laugh at my dumb jokes. You make me a better person. You’re one of maybe two people who, when I tell something to, I know can and will keep a secret, and I value that very highly. You mean more to me than you probably think or know. To Sam (TIPTY) Petersen-‐Perlman: Thank you for being a role model for me, and for being both someone who I can look up to and who I can have a laugh with. To Geri Berg: You’re the best, Geri Berg. Your patience and friendliness to Connor and I doesn’t go unnoticed. To Liza Henry: Words can hardly begin to describe how thankful I am for you and all you’ve done for me over the last 4 years. You’ve helped me grow as a jew, as a student, as a person, as a leader, as a friend. You’re the best advisor, teacher, mentor, role model I could ask for, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. To Connor Mann: Oh boy. I love you, Mann. You are my partner in crime. You are my partner in going to The Nook and eating way too much. You are my partner in destroying the Nuremburg bathroom. You are my partner in JOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. You are my partner in still playing fifa even though I win every time. You are my partner in Berry Punch. You are my partner in waving at everyone until they notice us. You are my partner in making the birkat hamazon lit af. You are my partner in blasting the subwoofer. You are my partner in annoying all the advisors. You are my partner in making a telescope out of our hands. You are my partner in so many more things that I cant think of right now, and so many more things to come. You are my best friend. To Abby Shiff: Thank you for giving me an extension on this. I have a 2 page limit and a lot of people that I love. Forgive me if you should be in here and aren’t. Never Forget These Years. Noah Gerber Asher Weisberg’s Senior Will
NFTY was the world to me when I joined. Ill never forgot my first
spring kallah, filled with a million memories, a million good times,
and a million tears. While I may have let my connection with
NFTY slip over the past year, the friends I made my first year
have stuck with me in ways I never couldve imagined. From road
trips to visit Chicago friends to movie nights in with my closest
jewish buds I know NFTY has played a huge role in shaping my
jewish and secular life.
Heres my message to all incoming NFTY-ites
Dont let NFTY slip from your hands, cherish every moment you
are there and soak up as much of the energy as you can to last
you between events. Meet as many people as you possibly can,
you never know when you going to need a friend from St. Paul, or
Wisconsin, or Illinois...Or the Dakotas. Most importantly be
yourself, never get caught up in petty drama or little things, and
live in the moment while youre at event/surround yourself with as
much love as possible.
NFTY does incredible things and I hope you all get the chance to
witness it!
Well, NFTY northern, it has been a good 4 years. I have made so many memories and a lifetime of friends that I am finding it quite hard to say goodbye. It was a great year, thank you for all of the memories. Killed it fam. Some honorable mentions: Liz Spanier, Leah McNeil, Lizzie Levine, Sophia Munic, Hannah Woodrich, Lana Rubenstein, and Emily Ratner You all shaped my NFTY experience, thank you for being such strong, positive, influential, women in my life. Dear NFTY-Northern,
Writing this will is among the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. How do you pick just a few memories to
highlight when my memories of NFTY are my favorite by far? With that being said, I, Emily Birz, must give
some things away before leaving this cherished part of my life behind. I love you all.
Maddy Porter:
I love you more than you will probably ever know. Thank you for repeatedly
housing me with like 45 minutes notice and for accepting me as part of the #porterfam.
Your friendship has given me so much joy and I cannot wait to see what you do in the
future. I will to you the Mall of America, pooping, I feel, CostCo muffins, not watching The
Notebook, and Francesca’s. We’ll always have forever.
Emma Pelc: Y
ou gorgeous little
minx, you. I will to you learning how to flirt (successfully!), sneaking into your cabin, that
time Joey Barr confused us for twins even though we look nothing alike, RC Cola and all the
love in the world.
Andrea Seiler: W
hen we were elected to Reg-Bo, I probably knew you
the least and I had no idea what to expect. I had no idea that we would become as close as
we are but I am so so happy with what we have become. You are wise beyond your years
and I cannot imagine conquering this year without you by my side. Thank you for making me
eat every time I forgot to and for being my voice of reason constantly. I will to you seaweed
chips, the Bert and Ernie room, finally writing a program together, getting ugly pictures of
you during board calls, being obsessed with Beau, texting during every board call, never
knowing what’s vegan and what isn’t, and, most importantly, I will to you the world. Go save
it.
Noah Gerber:
I will to you the three fire emojis next to your name in my phone, and that
time we broke the B’rit. Oops. C
onnor Mann:
Thank you for always helping me and keeping
me calm during programming, even if we weren’t on the best of terms. I still kinda feel bad
that I missed your soccer game that one time. I will to you soccer, Julia Dennen, and the
B’rit. You better come back next year.
Jake Henry:
Sorry for that time that I told you to act
straight. Thank you for not being offended. I will to you gigantic cream puffs and being a
fantastic group leader.
Lexi Hilton:
I know that there was a time in my NFTY career that we
weren’t friends and that makes me sadder than I can imagine. You are an absolute doll. I will
to you C-Squad, keepitonthedll, and hugs. Lots of hugs.
Rachel Greenwald: O
y vey, I am not
ready for this. There are so many things that I would not have done without your support.
You have pushed me out of my comfort zone time and time again, knowing that I needed
the push. Thank you for everything. I will to you always sleeping in the same bed (even
when we didn’t have to), that time I wrote your MVP speech, all the boys we’ve complained
about, that time I abandoned you at Kutz (#46BowenRoad #home), our 77 day Snapchat
streak, whipping, that time you wouldn’t let Andi pee, and all of the clothing we’ve
borrowed from each other. I still have that pencil skirt, sorry. I love you, my ginger princess.
Rand Phillips:
We have been through so much together, I don’t even know where to start.
Thank you for listening and always telling me the truth, as hard as it was to hear. I will to
you road trips, blowing up your tire somewhere in Northern Wisconsin, both of our Beths,
matching outfits on accident, that time you showered 4 times in one day (which is ridiculous
but that’s beside the point), “meeeeeehhhhhhh”, hedgehogs, whangadangdoodle, hookup
journals, 4 hours and 17 minutes, rolling away from your bs, spending an entire night
FaceTiming and, most of all, whipping. I love you.
Will Kieffer: T
hanks for sitting next to me
on the bus to the 8th grade trip and making me feel super uncomfortable. I will to you that
time I was stranded in Madison with Rebecca Lubar and we wanted you to come hang out
but you couldn’t.
Abby Loew:
Goodness gracious, Abby. You are just an amazing human and
I have appreciated your friendship immensely. Thank you for being so down to earth and
calming and just really freaking cool. I will to you the corn stand, twerking, and your
beautiful senior pictures that I am still obsessed with. Love ya babe. A
bby Dallet:
Thank you
for having stuck by my side for so long. I will to you long bus rides and all of Wisconsin.
Emma Wallace:
Of everyone included in this will, I have to thank you the most. I was
ridiculously scared of you from my first event until like sophomore year, when you showed
me that just because I was really weird and liked books more than people, I could still be
friends with people like you (aka cool people). You showed me that I truly belonged in this
community, even when I didn’t think I did. Thank you for your support and I have loved the
time I spent with you. I will to you sleepy bus rides and Culvers. Thanks again.
Phoebe Ellis:
Hey, girl. You were like my first friend in NFTY, and we may have lost touch a little, but I will
never stop admiring your way with people and how fearless you are. Love you forever.
SydSpan:
Girl, you’re insane. I will to you Veida, Beyonce, and that time I lost my Asefah
dress and wore yours.
Abby Shiff:
Thank you for taking care of my unicorn PillowPet for
like a month. You da bomb. I will to you the Newark airport and forgetting to do Push Week
like a million times. Thank you for all of the work you have put in this year, and I can’t wait
to see all of the amazing things your future holds.
Jon Vercammen:
Thank you for
everything, from the Beit Cafe closet, to always understanding when I just needed a hug, to
being there for every eye roll, snicker, and chuckle during services at Beth Hillel. We may
not be as close as we once were, but I truly cherish our friendship and the time we have
spent together. I will to you Beth Hillel and every Senior Circle ever, and also the world. You
deserve it, and more.
Max Lewin:
Oh, Maxie. I entered this year not knowing what to
expect, and I somehow still managed to be surprised at every twist and turn. Thank you for
always having a sense of humor, and always knowing how to calm me down. J
ulia Dennen:
J, I’m gonna keep this short and sweet, just like you. You are the most insane individual I
have ever met, in the best way. I’m going to miss you so much next year. Thank you for all
the late night FaceTimes, the pep talks, the advice, the cuddles and the times we stayed up
way way too late showering even though we had meetings at like 8 am. Love you until the
end of time.
Sarah Schwartz:
Thank you for being the best counterpart I could have
imagined. The fact that we were lucky enough to experience this together still astounds
me, but I couldn’t be more grateful. I will to you our older siblings, meeting in the Gurnee
Mills food court, New Years Eve, and dancing. I love you.
Eli Cooper, Marlee Ribnick,
Trevor Mann, Hannah Jacobs, Suzannah Sparks, Annie Schwenk and all the other old
people:
Thank you for being friends to me when I will still that awkward ninth grader who
