The headquarters of KW automotive in Fichtenberg
excels in flexibility and modernity.
W
hat started out as a small team of three employees working on a plant
area of 150 sqm is today an internationally operative group of companies for innovative suspension systems. KW today employs more than 200
employees at several subsidiaries and has a plant area exceeding 16.000
sqm. In 2010, the delivery programme covers more than 4.500 applications.
Many construction steps made KW to one of the most modern production
centres for innovative suspension solutions in Europe. R&D, production sales
and logistics are centred at the headquarters in Fichtenberg. Short ways,
optimized processes and innovative structures guarantee flexibility and reliability.

More than 18 employees are working permanently on new suspension and damping solutions as well as the continuously
further development of existing products.
All components pass a series of comprehensive testing procedures to meet the
highest quality standards. In 2006 an ultramodern hydraulic 7-post-dyno test facility
has been installed. KW now utilizes this leading edge technology to design and test

Competition is used successfully by several race teams on many
race tracks world-wide. KW is heavily involved both in popular sport
and also in top-level sport like FIA Touring Car Championship. The successes
at the 24hrs race 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 at the Nürburgring with the overall
victory of Manthey Racing for the fourth time in a row as well as several class

2-way adjustable
Our KW 2-way adjustable shock absorber is based on the twin tube damping design. The rebound and compression damping is independently adjustable at the end of the piston rod and the lower end of the damper
housing. The KW 2-way damping system enables us to equip race cars, prototype cars, and exotic custom cars
with a high-class, custom-made damping solution. Our KW 2-way dampers can be installed with a maximum
inclination of 45°. More inclination or horizontal mounting is possible if stated on the order.

Our 3-way adjustable racing shock absorber represents the latest solution in mono-tube technology. Featuring separate reservoirs, the system is designed to be used in professional Motorsport. We offer solutions

we are standing for!
For each vehicle class and any kind
of application, KW offers an optimally
preset suspension, either comfortable or sportive and performanceoriented. This ambitious objective is
achieved by applying our innovative patented KW technology and
independently adjustable rebound
and compression dampening. Our

dampers are therefore based on the
twin tube technology. Both the mono
tube and also the twin tube damping
system have their advantages and
disadvantages which can become
crucial depending on the individual
application and requirement. We at
KW have made a conscious decision for the twin tube technology, as
separating the valves into rebound
and compression phases offers significantly more possibilities to create different damping characteristics and
moreover an independent adjust-
ment of damping forces is essential
for optimal performance and driving
dynamics. We are using these undoubted advantages of this technology for our setup philosophy. With our
sophisticated low speed adjustment
we are able to control initial tyre load.
This interaction, for example, is directly related to driving dynamics and
behaviour. Thus, our patented compression valve allows our customers
to adjust the highly important LowSpeed compression damping over a
wide and very efficient range, without
having any negative effects on the

T
he HLS provides additional road clearance for lowered vehicles. When expanded, a range of up to 45 mm of lift is produced, thereby helping sport
cars avoid road clearance difficulties such as speed bumps, road construction, etc. KW HLS is available as vehicle specific solution or individual conversion kit depending on the car model.

KW HYDRAULIC LIFT SYSTEM
HLS is available in two different versions: HLS 2 which is fitted to the front axle and HLS 4 which can be attached to the front and
rear axle and allows lifting the entire vehicle. The hydraulic cylinder unit is located on the coilover body between spring perch
and spring. The advantage of a hydraulic system is that there is no compression (motion) of the extended cylinder unit (resulting
in no unwanted additional suspension movement) while driving.

With the individual height adjustable KW Street Comfort coilover kit a lowering of 10-40mm can be realised, depending on the vehicle. This way the customer has the flexibility to improve the look, with consideration of bigger wheels and tyres. At the same time the lowering has a positive effect on the driving

Clubsport was developed for customers, who demand a better handling car when participating
in track day events, but also require an official road approval to use their car every day.
KW CLUBSPORT
Coilovers for race track and road.
The setup was specifically designed for the Nordschleife using track day tyres. By using the optional available adjustable top
mounts, the suspension geometry can be adjusted to the requirements of tires and the intended use. The mentioned adjustment
options combined with the independently adjustable rebound and compression damping technology allow individual setup
adjustments according to the vehicle load, tyre characteristics and different track conditions. KW Clubsport meets every demand
regarding a coilover for the usage on the road and the race track. KW Clubsport suspension kits are independently adjustable
in compression and rebound forces and include high performance racing springs. Racing top mounts are optionally available
for further performance. KW Clubsport guarantees excellent handling, best performance, highest agility and fantastic lap times.

Coilover Spring Kits
Improved optic and vehicle dynamics.
The KW coilover spring kit is used for lowering the vehicle in combination with the serial dampers, even
when electronic damper control is installed. This lowering solution from KW optimises the dynamic performance and the steering behaviour without the electronic damper control deactivated. For this solution
vehicle specific adjustable spring seats with adjusted KW lowering springs and the matching elastomer
as well as the dust cover system will be used. This complete conversion allows an individual adjustable
lowering solution.

Sport Shock Absorbers

KW Sport Shock Absorbers meet all claims of a modern high-performance
damping system. All KW sport shock absorbers are specially developed
with a sportive damping setting for road-use. KW engineers are using all
their knowledge from suspension development and motorsport to find a
perfect setting during extensive road testings. The twin-tube gas shock
absorbers are equipped with hardened, chrome-plated piston rods and
offer ideal protection against stone chips and corrosion. A new innovative monoblock rod guide and seal system raise the pressure resistance,
reduce the friction and enhance the capability. The new working piston
with V-shaped Teflon seals reduce the friction losses to a minimum and
ensure a high temperature-resistant and long-lasting damping system. All
KW sport shock absorbers are equipped with a rebound (shortened stroke), assure optimum bore-stroke ratio and arrange pre-stressed springs. A
big part of the rear axle shock absorbers is equipped with spring plates
which are height adjustable by slots. This enables to vary the car height in
5 additional positions.

KW Sport Suspension kits consist of high-quality springs and specially matched sports shock absorbers
with shortened stroke which are aligned to the new ratio. The aim of the extensive driving tests is to
achieve an ideal collaboration of the shock and spring units and a significant improvement of the
handling and drivability. The sporty, harmonised tuning offers a high degree of driving dynamic and

KW Sport Spring kits are suited to lower the car height up to 60 mm. Besides the improved look, the
lowered centre of gravity contributes to increased agility and driving pleasure. KW sport spring kits
with a lowering up to 40 mm could be used with standard shock absorbers. Generally, it is recommended to use sport shock absorbers. For a lowering of more than 40 mm the use of sport shock
absorbers is required.
