PHOTOGRAPHER
Bob Dellarte
Bob Dellarte, owner of Golden
Photo Studio on Wyoming
Avenue in West Pittston, has
been chosen best
photographer in
Greater Pittston
for the fourth
year in a row.
“I love what I
do,” Delarte said
when recently
asked how he felt
Dellarte
about the honor.
“I love shooting
sports and working with kids,”
he added. Golden specializes in
wedding photography (ceremony,
reception, candid bride and
groom, wedding party) and
videos; formal and casual senior
photos, indoor and outdoor;
sports, music and dance themes;
video transfers (all formats); and
commercial photography.
ARTIST
Maria Livrone
“It’s great; it’s always wonderful
to be recognized for your
accomplishments,”
Maria Livrone
said about being
chosen Best of
Greater Pittston
in the artist
category. An artist
for approximately
40 years, Livrone
came upon a

unique fused glass
technique she
uses in her creations. She also
mixes that technique with metal
to create indoor and outdoor
sculptures. Her husband Bill
does the welding. The couple
are owners of Art On Main in
Pittston.
HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER
Michael Fuller
Michael Fuller, voted best high
school teacher in this year’s Best
of Greater Pittston poll, is in his
12th year teaching ninth-grade
civics and economics at Pittston
Area High School. On winning,
Fuller stated, “I’m very honored and
grateful to have won. It’s humbling
because there are so many great
teachers.” Fuller, who initially
pursued a different career, credits
some “great former educators” for
his decision to change direction. “I
want to thank Mike Carroll Sr., Ned
Linnen and Frank McLane, who
inspired me to pursue a teaching
career.” Fuller really knows when
he has hit home with his students
when he can “make their jaws drop”
upon learning something new, such
as when he recently compared
the state’s prison budget to the
education budget. The difference
between the two was something the
students did not expect.
Michael Fuller teaches his ninth grade civics and economics class at Pittston
Area High School. He won the title of best high school teacher in this year’s Best
of Greater Pittston readers’ choice awards.

BURGER
My Sister’s Kitchen
Sisters Gina Altieri and Janet
Altieri Russo, owners of My
Sister’s Kitchen, Main Street,
Duryea, have been serving
customers since 2006. The
restaurant has been voted as
having the best burger by readers
of the Sunday Dispatch. The
popular Colossal Burger consists
of two 1/4 pound patties served
with lettuce, tomato, bacon, onion
and ketchup. Also on the menu is
the Texas cheeseburger, topped
with homemade chili and ketchup;
a mushroom and Swiss burger
with fresh sliced mushrooms;
a bacon cheeseburger; and a
BBQ bacon cheeseburger. A new
menu item is the royal burger,
a cheeseburger with lettuce,
tomato, bacon and crowned with
a fried egg. All burgers are fresh
pressed and served on a soft
Italian roll.
ITALIAN FOOD
Café Italia
Old world goodness and fresh
ingredients are typical fare at Café
Italia, voted by Sunday Dispatch
readers as the place to get the
best Italian food. Owner Sam
Marranca offers his customers
a comfortable place to dine and
enjoy a wide variety of pasta
dishes all made with the freshest
ingredients.
WINGS
Town Tavern
Town Tavern, 815 Foote Ave.,
Duryea was decidedly chosen by
Sunday Dispatch readers again
this year as having the best wings.
With a wide variety of sauces such
as honey garlic, Cajun, garlic, hot
ranch and parmesan to name a
few, customers keep coming back,
especially during football season.
Tuesdays are wing night.
CHEESESTEAK
Bobby-O’s
The recipe for Bobby-O’s
cheesteak sandwich is definitely
Greater Pittston’s choice as best.
At Bobby-O’s, located at 300
Main St., Dupont, sandwiches
are made to order and customers
can request onions, peppers
and various other toppings. The
’50s-themed restaurant carries a
wide variety of steak sandwiches
and a wide variety of other menu
items, but recommends customers
enjoy one of their numerous
flavors of milk shakes along with
their order.
