Summer Reading Program
June 10 – August 3
Sponsored by Fort Madison Area United Way, the City of Fort Madison, Lee County, Pzazz!
and County Market.
Beginning May 28th you can sign-up for the library's summer reading
program. Once you sign up, you will receive a reading record and a
sheet of stickers. The first 50 children to sign up will also receive a
coloring poster. For each 5 minutes you read, mark off or place a
sticker on one spot on your reading record. Once
your reading record is full, bring it into the library for a prize.
1st Prize: Door Hanger, Photo Frame or Telescope
2nd Prize: Hatching Dino Eggs, Brain Teaser
Game or Garden Gnome
3rd Prize: Flashing Frog or Wallet

Deep Reading Bonus
After completing the 3rd reading
ticket, there's still more! Pick up a
“Read Deep” ticket and the two
people who read the most books
will receive additional prizes:
1st Prize – iPod shuffle
2nd Prize – M&M dispenser
with M&Ms
Pick up a “Gnome Away From
Home” when signing up for the
reading program. Take pictures of
your Gnome when you travel this
summer or mail him to relatives.
Bring in pictures that clearly show
where your Gnome has been for a
chance to win prizes from Pzazz
and Huck's Harbor. Prizes for the
Gnome who travels the farthest,
the Gnome who visits the most
places and the Gnome who visits
the most libraries. All pictures
must be submitted no later than
July 31.

novel of their choice.
June 20th – Face Off – watch special effects artists create unique creatures
June 21st – Zombie Make-Up – create gruesome zombie looks with common
household ingredients
July 5th – Zombie Food
July 18th – Watch “The Mummy”
July 19th – Graphic Art Zombie Contest – create your own graphic story or comic strip
for display in the library.
August 2nd – Zombie Hunt – dress up as zombies and participate in a scavenger hunt
at the library. Prize for best Zombie costume!
