ABOUT COAL CREEK OHV AREA The Coal Creek OHV Area is located in Oliver Springs, TN just north of Knoxville and has convenient access to both 1-75 and I-40. With 72,000 acres, it is one of the largest OHV areas in the country. There are over 250 miles of trails available for riders of all skill levels. Trails are open to all types of vehicles such as ATVs, Jeeps, 4x4s, buggies, motorcycles. The main trail head is located at 981 Windrock Road in Oliver Springs, TN 37840. Our trails are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The parking area can accommodate very large groups and has plenty of free parking for vehicles and trailers. LAND USE PERMITS: You can purchase a Land Use Permit at the campground store, at the Snack Shack located at the trail head or at the Shell Fun Food in Oliver Springs. A Land Use Permit is required for each person entering the Coal Creek OHV Area. This campground was built for OHV riders. There are cabins, RV sites with full hookups, a primitive bunkhouse, and primitive tent camping sites. There are two bathhouses with hot showers and two covered pavilions. For the camper’s convenience, there is direct access to the trail system from the campground.
