THE TERRA COTTA PROCESS
Created by Italian craftsmen using designs and processes passed down from
generation to generation, these terra cotta pots are unique in our plastic, throw away
society.
Unlike American or Mexican red clay, the Italian terra cotta clay is green
when wet and is used just as it comes from the ground. The clay is handpacked into
chalk molds which create great detail in the finish products. The items are then unmolded, hand-finished for smoothness and finally kiln-fired at 2000 degrees for four
full days. It is during this high fire process that the clay turns the traditional reddishbrown color.
Terra Cotta is one of the last hand crafted products available on a wide scale.
It adds a classic and timeless feel to any environment.

T
he words “Terra Cotta” literally mean “baked earth”. Used by man for thousands of years, surviving ancient artifacts give testimony to the durability of
this special substance. Landscapers and gardeners have always prized terra cotta for
its porosity and texture which maintain a proper degree of soil moisture - neither too
wet or dry.

fine terra cotta clays to produce a large selection of ornamental pottery. Each piece of Gladding
McBean architectural garden pottery is individually hand formed and glazed by one of their
experienced potters on an order by order basis. There is no stock inventory.

n Europe, dry- cast has been around for centuries and has proven itself to be
durable, attractive and a high quality alternative to other materials in garden and
architectural ornamentation. The nature of our stone has a number of advantages,
one of which is the way that it ages much like natural stone, developing a rich patina
quite rapidly. The material’s ability to be cast into virtually any shape allows our
craftsman unlimited design possibilities. Our most recent improvements in mix
design and curing methods have given our stone greatly increased strength, weather
tolerance and resistance to abrasion.

purchase 100% recycled wood pallets and/ or re-use packaging from shipments delivered to us for

All orders require payment in full, including freight and handling charges before shipment.
All orders are shipped FOB Santa Ana, California. Freight collect or third party billing
allowed. Goodwin International provides local delivery service at rates based on distance and
size of order.
Goodwin International assumes no risk or damage incurred in transit , except orders delivered
by Goodwin truck. All items are shipped at purchaser’s risk. Any claims for loss or damage
sustained in transit must be filed with carrier immediately.
Goodwin International will make every effort to meet requested shipping dates. Due to the
nature of our products, which are handcrafted and shipped internationally, we assume no
responsibility for delays occasioned by failure of others to meet commitments for any reason
beyond our control.
Special finishes are guaranteed for 90 days. Goodwin International is not responsible for
finishes that deteriorate due to improper maintanance.
Goodwin International warrants its products, when purchased new, to be free from defects in
materials and workmanship under normal use and service for one year from the original date
of purchase. Replacement or repair at the option of Goodwin International of defective parts
shall be the sole remedy of this warranty.
Special order merchandise is not returnable.
All sales are final. No refunds. Exchanges for equal value or higher with prior approval. A
restocking charge will apply.
A service charge will be charged on overdue accounts. A $25.00 handling fee for returned
checks.
All sales are made pursuant to these conditions and orders are received with the
