Ultima Filters are superior to bead filters because of their
patented bio-tube media which does not clump together like
beads do. No need for a blower for back washing!

These filters look similar to sand filters commonly
used in swimming pools but actually operate in a
much different fashion. Sand filters do not work

Many people mistakenly use sump pumps or other inexpensive pumps only to have them fail
within the first year because they were not designed for continuous operation. Your pump is the

Pond Aeration
CLOSE-UP VIEW OF AIR DIFFUSER
On the following pages are several
different diffused aeration kits.
Diffused aeration systems are the best
way to aerate, destratify and create
circulation on ponds over 6' deep. Each
system has three basic parts:
1) an air compressor; 2) an air hose;
and 3) an air diffuser.
The air compressor sits on shore and
pumps air out through the hose to the
air diffuser located on the bottom of the pond. The result is thousands of tiny
bubbles rushing out of the diffuser to the pond surface, creating circulation and
providing aeration.
There are several advantages to using diffused aeration kits instead of surface
aerator:
1) electric motor is on shore, not in the water; 2) air diffusers lay on the bottom,
ensuring aeration of entire pond from bottom to top, regardless of depth; and 3)
with proper sizing, tubing lengths up to 2000' can be achieved for ponds without
electricity nearby.
FREEZE
CONTROL
The freeze control option is recommended
whenever the windmill is located away
from the pond’s edge.
Anytime air is compressed, condensation is
created and can accumulate in the
pipeline. During freezing weather this condensation can freeze and stop the windmill from
working. The freeze control option constantly
checks line pressure. If the line starts to freeze,
the control valve opens and feeds Ethanol alcohol (or Rubbing alcohol) into the line which
melts the ice. Then the valve closes and normal

These rotary vane air compressor kits pump considerably more air than the air pumps on the previous page. Rotary vane pumps do
not operate as deep as the diaphragm and piston pumps — maximum operating depth is 18'. A 3/4 HP high pressure model is
available which operates to a depth of 27'. The 1/4 HP model pumps 4.2 CFM of air compared to 1.5 CFM with the 1/4 HP piston
compressor. This larger volume of air will increase circulation and oxygen levels for faster cleaning of the pond’s bottom. The 1/4
HP rotary vane kit is recommended for ponds from one to two acres, but it often is used in ponds less than one acre if high fish

The AquaGem

easily converted
to an AquaBlast

The Otterbine Fractional Series Fountains are perfect for residential ponds, golf courses, and apartment complexes. Each fountain
comes with the three spray patterns shown above. Nozzles can be easily changed without removing fountain from the pond. This
allows you to change your fountain’s appearance often for maximum beauty.
These impressive units are manufactured entirely of stainless steel and thermal plastics. Each unit in the fractional series comes
standard with 100' of power cable, stainless steel debris screen and mini power center. The power center includes ground fault
interrupter and 24 hour on/off timer. And, Otterbine is the only aerator manufacturer to have each aeration system electrically safety
tested and approved as a package by ETL and ETLc.
Floats are protected by a thermoplastic polyethylene shell. Powered by Franklin, water-cooled, super stainless motors for years of
reliable service. These Otterbine fountains carry a two year limited warranty on the entire unit.
Add the optional light kit and turn this fountain into a beautiful night scape. Light kits include 24 hour timer, transformer, 100'
power cord. See page 27 for more information.

Otterbine offers a light kit that is much brighter and yet costs less than its previous model.
This revised, low voltage system is available in a two light or four light package.
• Bulbs can be changed without tools
• Light sets include timer and GFI
• Colored lenses snap on over clear lens making installation much easier
• Optional quick disconnect makes service work easier!
• Power cable not included — order separately
Two light set is recommended on instant fountain or on 1 HP fountains. Four light set
