I also do weights for my legs, my back, my arms, my stomach and my butt.” As far as her diet, Alfonso says, “Everything in moderation. I never starve myself, ever. I need the nutrients, especially with the schedule I have. I need to eat. I’ll have fish, chicken, lots of salads. Danny [her husband] and I have been on this great salad kick. We take lots of aru- gula, lots of avocado — because it’s a good fat, so I eat a lot of that — cherry tomatoes, red onions and creamy feta cheese. I then take olive oil and a nice, fresh lemon and squeeze the lemon all over. I use just a little olive oil; coat your lettuce. We all need the good fats in our system. I finish it off with a little sea salt. It’s a delicious little side. I make salmon with a garlic spread and cracked pepper and then I put it on the grill and eat that with the salad.” BRIAN LOWE /JPI STEVEN BERGMAN JILL JOHNSON/JPI Exercise Kristian Alfonso (Hope) “I try to go to the gym every day or at least six out off th the seven days. I take my scripts with me, I take my iPad with me, I do work on the phone. I’m a big supporter of buying produce locally l o or organically.” Breakfast: “I always eat breakfast. I think it’s the Brea most important meal for you to have. I usually have oatmea oatmeal with a banana and soy milk. If I have some kind of ggrain, I’ll eat Ezekiel bread with almond or peanut butte butter. I have some kind of protein, usually eggs, but that will change when my diet transitions to vegan. I also have a vice, which is espresso or capp cappuccino. It’s a healthy breakfast that is low in fats.” Lunch: “I don’t eat lunch. For me, I think lunch is kind of a useless meal. On average, I think we as human beings consume way too much food. As the years go by, you also need less food. I might have a snack during the day, which is usually fruit or a KIND snack bar. They have nuts and are very low in sugar. If I go to lunch with someone, I’ll usually have a salad. So it’s striking the right balance between my activities during the day and how many calories I consume.” Dinner: “At dinner, I usually have a grain, like brown rice or barley. I like it stir-fried with vegetables and tofu. I love seasonings. We grow herbs, so there are all kinds of herbs and different kinds of oils. A lot of the vegetables we grow on our farm. What we eat depends on the season. In California, you can grow yearround. We don’t grow everything, but I try to buy what is grown locally or organically.” 3:24 PM Get a perfect pucker — like GH’s Lindsay Morgan (Kristina) Derk Cheetwood (Max, GH) was all smiles with his pooch in 2010.
