Comfort Safety Design SUCRÉE 3.Grape × 6.Mix What is Migusa? Migusa is a new type of tatami developed by Sekisui that delivers modern-day functional performance while retaining the authentic texture and feel of all-natural mat rush. Migusa is a unique product made from traditional mat rush together with a specially developed plastic containing inorganic calcium. The mat rush delivers the authentic texture and feel of tatami matting while the plastic component enhances durability, improves product safety and allows greater flexibility of design and color schemes. Migusa Air space provides spring and flexibility Conventional mat rush Key components Corrugations reduce clumping Calcium additive regulates humidity through surface pores Migusa vs. conventional mat rush ■The advanced plastic component of Migusa mimics the structure of natural mat rush fiber. (polypropylene) Inorganic calcium additive Durability Moisture absorption Plastic ■The ratio of additive governs the natural mat rush texture and moisture absorption performance. 3 Comfort Simple, convenient, easy to keep clean Point 01 Will not fade or discolor Maintains its appearance Conventional mat rush tatami suffered extensively discoloration over two years, while Migusa remained virtually unchanged. 16 Test pieces were exposed to direct sunlight for two full years in an outdoor setting. Product replacement intervals are therefore much longer. 4 Test results Migusa Mat rush «Test pieces were subjected to strictly controlled friction tests. Friction was applied in the fiber weave direction.» Migusa exhibits exceptional strength and durability compared to conventional mat rush. It resists cracking and does not generate dust. In particular, the use of plastics addresses several limitations of traditional mat rush tatami (mainly quality and durability) and enables a wider range of colors designed to suit Western-inspired home interior styling. The Kids Design Award was presented to Sekisui in recognition of a product that is easy to maintain and helps regulate humidity, thus providing a safe and hygienic environment at floor level for children and babies. 2008 winner: Migusa tatami and tatami floor mats, Koharu tatami for in-floor heating 2009 winner: Migusa tatami and Allergy Buster tatami floor mats 2010 winner: Industrial Migusa series 2012 winner: Tatami roll Recommended by the Japan Atopic Dermatitis Patients Association Japan Atopic Dermatitis Patients Association Recommended product S 608700 A Izumo Brand accreditation The Japan Atopic Dermatitis Patients Association (a designated non-government organization) has officially recommended the Migusa series for atopic dermatitis and allergy sufferers.
