Ryuho Okawa was born on July 7th 1956, in Tokushima, Japan. After graduating from the University of Tokyo, He joined a Tokyo-based trading house. While working at its New York headquarters,
He studied international finance at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. On March 23rd 1981, He achieved Great Enlightenment, and awakened to the hidden part of His
consciousness, El Cantare, whose mission is to bring happiness to all humanity. Since he established Happy Science in 1986, he has given more than 2,400 lectures and published over 2,000 books,
many of which have sold millions of copies, including The Laws of the Sun. In addition, he is the chairperson of New Star Production Co., Ltd. and the founder of Happy Science University, Happy
Science Academy (Junior and Senior High School), the Happiness Realization Party, Happy Science Institute of Government and Management and IRH Press Co., Ltd.
