Costumes - Rainbow Magic
Costumes:
Want to be the Halloween Fairy? Dress up as Trixie!
What you will need:
-
Two wire clothes hangers
-
Two pairs of stockings (any colour you like!)
-
1 metre of black ribbon
-
Rugby socks (Borrow from your Dad or brother)
-
Orange or yellow clothing
-
Body glitter, puffer pens, stickers or anything else you like!
1.
Pull two wire hangers into ‘wing’ shapes. (Keep the ‘hook’ of the hanger as it is- it will come
in handy later).
2.
Feed one wing into one leg of the stockings, and do the same with the other wing.
3.
Tie knots in the stockings near the base of each wing and cut the wings off. (Note: make sure the stocking is pulled tightly, as this will make decorating easier
later!)
4.
Twist the two hooks of the wings together so that you have made a pair
of wings.
5.
Cut the other pair of stockings in half.
6.
Tie the two stocking legs to the middle of the wings, so that you have
two loops.
7.
Decorate the wings with anything you like!
8.
When you are ready to wear your wings, put your arms through the stocking
loops (almost like putting on a jacket).
9.
Cut the ribbon into two equal pieces.
10. Tie one of the pieces around your head like a headband, and the other around
your waist.
11. Dress in your orange clothes, stripy socks, fairy wings, and make yourself
sparkle with body glitter.
Now you’re ready to be Trixie the Halloween Fairy!
Variations:
Want to be a different fairy? Change your clothes to look like your favourite fairy!
You can make a wand out of a chopstick- simply wrap it in a colourful ribbon and have an adult
help you seal the ends with glue.
Feel like something a little scarier? Become Jack Frost for Halloween!
What you will need:
-
Jack Frost Mask (next page)
-
Long blue material
-
Blue clothing
1.
2.
3.
4.
In one end of the blue material, cut a hole big enough for your head to fit through.
Cut zig zags in the other end of the blue material.
Put your head through the hole you cut, so that the long piece is behind you like a cape.
Dress in your blue clothing and put on your Jack Frost mask.
You’re now scary Jack Frost!
