New Hampshire’s “Preeminent Duo” will present an evening of sterling song in works by Dowland, Quilter, Vaughan Williams, and a little heard folksong cycle by Beethoven. Sirens’ Song The Portland Press Herald writes that Sirens’ Song is “an impeccably matched duo with a brilliant, highly textured soprano and an equally warm and luminous mezzo-soprano…ingeniously chosen repertoire.” Their CD, Mélange, has been lauded by the Portsmouth Herald as “classic and beautiful…the voices and delivery are equally splendid. Hinson and McMahon exude joy at their craft.” Sumptuous accompaniment will be performed by Mary Towse-Beck, Piano; Hannah Reitz, Violin; and Dorothy Braker, Cello. The instrumentalists will also perform trio works by Beethoven and the famous Argentinian tango composer, Astor Piazzolla.
