Education in Headache:

and Middle East
European Headache Federation (EHF) and Sofoced
collaborated to the organization of the Headache chapter
at the 3rd International Congress of the Lebanese Society
of Neurology in Beirut earlier this month. The section
focused on 4 hot topics: the classification of headache
(D.Valade, France, President of the EHF), updated on the
treatment of Migraine (N. Mohsen. Lebanon),the clinical
picture and treatment of Cluster Headache (F. Antonaci,
Italy) and the treatment of Tension type headache (G.
Mouhanna France). A stimulating discussion involved a
large number of neurologist convoyed sharing option on
the different experience .
“A unique opportunity to share professional skill in
Neurology between Europe and Middle East where
Lebanon is a leading country as far as Health care and
respect of quality of life” the Lebanese Ministry of Public
Health said. Most of the interest of the participants was
dedicated to the practical issue of ideal treatment and
the real life treatment . “ Headache patients have the
right to access all symptomatic and preventive treatment
worldwide” Dr Fadi Abou-Mrad President of the
Lebanese Neurological Society said. Besides “Physicians
should have the opportunity to recognize primary and
secondary headache in order to avoid diagnostic pitfall
collaborating with the Order of physicians in the
education process” Prof. Antonaci added. The Middle
Est magic atmosphere that one can experience being in
Beirut and the superb organization of the event has
provided the best opportunity to lunch future
collaboration among participants from different country.
