DENTestetica Dental Clinic was established in 2003 in Cracow, Poland. The clinical staff has long-term
experience with dental medical tourism and provide excellence in dentistry for patients who demand and
expect the best.
In 2012, a completely new office with outstanding equipment (300 square metres, 7 operation rooms, a
fully-equipped surgery for general sedation, digital 3D diagnostic X-ray centre) was opened in downtown
Cracow, just 800m from the Main Square (Rynek Glowny). DENTestetica offers a vast range of dental
treatments including the most advanced microendodentistry, zirconium crowns, ceramic veneers,
implants, bone transplantation and Guided Bone Regeneration techniques.
We respect our patients, this is why we pay special attention to completely eliminating the stress and
pain associated with dental treatment. As a routine procedure we use the latest computer controlled
local anaesthesia delivery system (The WAND STA) together with a whole range of general sedation
techniques. Conscious sedation and nitrous oxide sedation are available for all our patients and are
provided by experienced medical doctors who have specialized in anaesthesiology (this is NOT
performed by the dentist as in most European countries). Sedation techniques are highly recommended
for patients with a strong gagging syndrome which does not allow for any conventional treatment. All 10
dentists are certified specialists in specific fields of dentistry (3 at PhD level, active university teachers
and international lecturers).

WE TALK WITH OUR PATIENTS
WE PROVIDE COMFORTABLE TREATMENT
DENTestetica Dental Clinic consists of 7 comfortably-furnished and well-equipped treatment rooms
including 1 operating room, 4 dental treatment rooms and two facial aesthetics treatment rooms. The
operating room and dental surgeries are equipped with the latest dental chairs from American company,
ADEC, which produces special, extremely comfortable, medical upholstery, which adapts to the shape
of the patient’s body. The surgical chairs in the facial
aesthetic surgeries have a built-in device to massage
the patients back. All rooms are air-conditioned. For
our patients there are two large lounges with Internet
access, PC, Xbox, magazines, toys for children and
the service of our front desk staff (a large selection of
coffees and teas). We offer our patients a large free car
park. Our office is fully equipped to treat patients with
disabilities. We do provide comfortable treatment.
Before the start of each treatment a precise treatment plan is presented in writing and discussed with the
patient in detail during the course of the treatment. We provide comprehensive information on health
status, the proposed treatment, the risks involved, alternative treatments, the effects of treatment failure
and the expected time and cost of the treatment. At any time our patients can count on accurate and
detailed information about the course of treatment provided in the simplest possible and intelligible
form. We frequently use three-dimensional models and 2D and 3D images.

TREATMENT WITHOUT PAIN

A visit to the dentist is often associated with stress and fear of pain. This is one of the major problems
reported by patients which can result in resignation from treatment already begun. In practice, the vast
majority of patients who have experienced traumatic dental treatments could have received completely
painless treatments, providing that the appropriate medications, special methods of administration and
modern equipment had been used.
In our clinic we provide our patients with all the currently
known methods of atraumatic and comfortably performed dental
procedures - without fear and pain.
The key is appropriate knowledge and many years
of medical practice. Today, there are many different
methods of eliminating pain and stress during dental
treatment. The doctor has at his disposal a new generation
of local anaesthetics, new computer-controlled devices
for drug delivery (no need for traditional syringes), oral
sedation by sedatives, sedation or inhalation sedation
with nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”), and sedoanalgesia
- the delivery of sedatives and loosening drugs by
intravenous administration. Finally, specifically matched
anti-inflammatory/analgesic drugs can be used to
eliminate potential pain following treatment (especially
after major surgery).

IMPLANTOLOGY
THE MAJOR ADVANTAGES OF DENTAL IMPLANT TREATMENT ARE AS FOLLOWS:
The aesthetics and functions of the missing teeth are restored in the most natural manner
possible.
There is no need to damage the teeth adjacent to the edentulous area as is the case when
they are reduced in order for a bridge to be fitted
The jaw bone is protected as it receives the load conveyed by the implant. Thus, the
implant prevents bone degeneration, which is inevitable due to a lack of stimulation after
the loss of natural teeth.
Removable dentures can be made more stable thanks to the clasps securing them onto
the implants. Denture wearers feel much more comfortable as the denture base can be
significantly smaller, while the cost is only negligibly higher.
In the long run, treatment costs are reduced. Implants can last as long as natural teeth and,
similarly, they do not have to be extracted unless serious mechanical damage occurs.
Dental implant treatment is safe and efficient, fully replacing missing natural teeth and leaving
the neighbouring teeth intact. In the DENTestetica clinic, dental implant surgical procedures
are conducted exclusively by second degree specialists in dental surgery, prosthodontics or
periodontology who have completed advanced training programmes. Implant insertion, which
is absolutely painless, is performed under local anaesthesia or, if requested by the patient,
sedoanalgesia which, in turn, is supervised by an anaesthesiologist. We employ proven
implantation systems that have an international warranty called an implant pass. The implantation
procedure is preceded by precise, 3D diagnostic tests: cone beam CT scans.
WHAT IS A DENTAL IMPLANT? HOW DOES IT WORK?
A dental implant substitutes a natural tooth root. Nowadays, implantation is the best method to
replace missing dentition: not only is th gap filled, but the lost teeth can be reconstructed while
regaining full functionality and aesthetics. A dental implant consists of three components: a
titanium rod inside the jaw bone, a titanium or ceramic abutment and a prosthetic crown.
When the implant has been inserted into the bone the implantologist sutures the gum for a
period of 4-6 months, during which the implant firmly osseointegrates. Afterwards, the upper
part of the implant is exposed and healing caps are fitted for about 2-4 weeks. The reason
for this procedure is to stimulate the growth of the gingival tissue surrounding the implant.
When the gum is healed, the implant is loaded with an abutment, to which either a crown or an
overdenture clasp is secured with a screw or cement.

DENTAL LABORATORY
The aesthetic dental clinic DENTestetica collaborates
with some of the best prosthodontics labs in Cracow .The
technicians who work for DENTestetica are, above
all, accomplished specialists with a passion for
their work and an artistic bent. No effort is spared
in order that dental restorations, prepared by the
dental doctors and technicians of DENTestetica,
meet all the expectations of the patients regarding
functionality and aesthetics. During prosthodontic
treatment, special visits are routinely arranged either
in the clinic or in the lab so that the patient, the
doctor and the technician can discuss the customdesigned appearance of the restoration (its colour,
shape, position, size, added cracking or spots). The
skills and expertise of our medical and technical
staff make it possible to prepare restorations that
are aesthetically pleasing and match the natural
dentition perfectly.

MICROSCOPIC ENDODONTICS
Endodontic treatment (root canal treatment) consists of removing inflamed and dead pulp or an
old root canal filling from the pulp chamber and root canals, and permanently refilling that area
with inert material. The purpose of root canal treatment is to eliminate the source of infection
as it causes destructive bone changes and pain, which may persist even after the procedure.
Root canal treatment should be performed by a highly-experienced dentist using specialised
equipment. The DENTestetica Dental Clinic has at its disposal high-tech diagnostic tools and a
team of well-qualified professionals:
•
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (3D)
•
Computer Radiography (2D)
•
Operating microscopes with in-built digital cameras
•
Computer-guided systems of measurement (6th Gen Apex Locator - Raypex6 VDW),
of root canal preparation (rotary and oscillating instruments - Mtwo and Reciproc VDW), of
filling root canals (vertical compaction of warm guttapercha - BeeFill System VDW)
•
3 highly-experienced professionals specializing in endodontic treatment, leaders of
endodontic courses for dentists in Poland and abroad (Dr Krzysztof Gończowski is the author
of a proprietary set of microtools used for removing broken endodontic instruments - FRS File
Removal System Dr K. Gończowski® - produced by Aesculap, a company based in Germany)
Thanks to the methods available
today, root canal therapy can
be efficiently performed in one
day, with no discomfort to the
patient. Using 3D imaging - Cone
Beam Computed Tomography we can quickly and accurately
locate the inflamed areas of
the teeth and jawbone. 3D
tomographic imaging allows us
to see not only the consequences
of teeth infections but also the
complications that can occur,
such as failed attempts at
endodontic treatment (broken
instruments, untreated root canals, prepared margins, perforations). At our clinic it is routine
procedure to use operating microscopes equipped with video tracks, which enables us to perfect
our methods of clearing, preparing and filling root canals. Using these microscopes, we can see
anatomical anomalies, artificial obstructions in root canals (broken endodontic instruments),
and complications of previous treatments (perforations, resorptions). Being able to use closeup tools and the latest computer-guided oscillating systems to prepare root canals, as well as
thermal condensation equipment to fill canals, we can now preserve teeth that would have been
extracted in the past.
Patients often face the dilemma of whether to opt for
root canal treatment or rather to simply have the tooth
extracted. Unless the patient undergoes chemotherapy
or radiotherapy treatments, or is awaiting an organ
transplant (e.g. kidney), it is highly advisable to
preserve one’s natural teeth for both medical reasons
(lack of side effects, such as bone atrophy), and
financial reasons (low treatment cost; the tooth, after
being treated and restored, should remain intact for
years). Tooth removal is an irreversible procedure,
which entails the need for an implant, bridge or
prosthesis, and for this very reason extraction is
always treated as the last resort at our clinic. The
consequence of avoiding endodontic treatment can
be a further spread of inflammation inside the root
canals and bone structures in the apex of the roots.
Bacteria and their toxins spread haematogenously to
other, even more distant, locations. This process is
referred to as focal infection and poses the greatest
risk for patients with immune deficiencies.
