Society for Creative Anachronism Newsletter for the Barony of Caer Mear Volume 38, Issue 4 Van Gogh- Flowers in a blue vase - Public Domain The Quid Novi (QD) Quid Novi April 2016 Coronation of King Dietrich and Queen Thora Saturday, April 2, 2016 The day began bleak, with Thor announcing the departure of King Christoph (dubbed “The Storm King” by a local gentle) and Queen Adelhait. To this soul, it was a reflection on our hearts. As Christoph crowned Dietrich his heir, the clouds began to part and the rains eased. Throughout the day, as our new monarchs made their presence known amongst the populace, Thor took pity on us all and allowed the sun to shine upon their first court. By its end, all our hearts were filled with joy with the knowledge that our Fair Atlantia is in excellent hands. SKOL!!!!!! Quid Novi 2 April 2016 Announcements Ruby Joust! The word pysanka comes from the verb pysaty, "to write", as the designs are not painted on, but written with beeswax. Everyone who came out had a blast and got to go home with their very own egg!
