ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Superior Health Products, Inc. warrants this unit against any defects due to faulty
material, parts or workmanship for a one-year period from the date of original retail
purchase. If the unit should malfunction or become defective, Superior Health
Products, Inc. will, at its option, repair or replace the unit or any component of the unit
found to be defective during the warranty period. This warranty is valid only for the
original retail purchaser, when purchased through an authorized dealer and is not
transferable.
This warranty does not extend to normal wear or parts or damage resulting from any
of the following: negligent use or misuse of the unit, use on improper voltage or
current, use contrary to operating instructions, damage to the unit from an accident,
submersion of unit into water or other liquid, alteration, disassembly, modification or
repairs performed by unauthorized personnel. Opening of the unit’s case by personnel
other than authorized Superior Health Products, Inc. service technicians will void this
Warranty in its entirety

tornadoes, lightning, power outages, or other such “acts of God.

a “Return Authorization Number” (RAN) BEFORE returning unit for warranty service.
Failure to do so may result in your unit being returned to you unopened.

Thank you and congratulations on your purchase of the PortaZone™
ozonator. Please read and follow all the information in this manual and on
the unit carefully before operating your unit. The PortaZone™ carries a oneyear limited warranty to the original purchaser. Be sure to send in your
warranty registration within 30 days to validate the warranty.
Disclaimer: This unit is intended solely for use as a water treatment device and for scientific
research by fully qualified personnel, using this equipment in compliance and conformance with

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Before using this product, read and follow the instruction manual carefully.
2. Caution: The PortaZone™ is an electrical appliance. Use caution when
using near water sources and unplug when not in use.
3. Do not put anything on top of the unit that may block the vents or the
ozone vent on the side of the unit. Improper ventilation will result in
mechanical failure.
4. Store the unit in cool, dry, safe area.
5. Do not disassemble the unit for any reason. The unit is not user
serviceable and disassembly may cause mechanical failure. Please follow
Warranty instructions for any needed repairs.
6. Do not breathe ozone directly.
7. Use the unit in a well ventilated room.

Cleaning and Disinfecting
The PortaZone™ can be used to eliminate odors, molds and mildew from many
different small areas in your environment like a closet, refrigerator, musty smelling
automobile or basement. Remove diffuser from the end of the tube for air treatment
and place into the area to be ozonated. You can also remove the tubing all together
and just let the ozone come out of the outlet on the side of the machine. Close off the
area to be ozonated and run the unit for up to an hour. Some areas may require
several treatments to be effective. The PortaZone™ is not meant to be used regularly
as an air purifier, but more as a shock treatment for small areas. Do not leave the unit
running for more than an hour at a time and be sure you, your family and pets exit the
area before you do a shock treatment. After the treatment open windows or ventilate
with a fan for 15 minutes.
To Disinfect Laundry
Adding ozonated water to your wash cycles can enhanced soil removal, provide
powerful disinfection and reduced garment wear-and-tear. Ozone penetrates and
opens individual garment fibers, allowing faster cleaning and bleaching of garments
with the use of less chemicals. Simply ozonate a gallon or more of water for 15-30
minutes prior to starting your wash and add to the washing machine. Ozone is deep
cleaning and will leave your clothes smelling fresh and clean.

DESCRIPTION OF THE UNIT & ACCESSORIES
Ventilation Slots

Clean Meats, Chicken, Seafood and Dry Foods
Ozone can kill bacteria and decompose hormones on meats, chicken, seafood and
other foods, eating utelzils, sufaces and cookware. Studies at California Polytechnic
University demonstrated that 0.3 ppm levels of ozone dissolved in filtered tap water
can produce a reduction of more than 99.99% in such food-borne microorganisms as
salmonella, E. coli 0157:H7, and Campylobacter. A larger, disc diffuser (3.75” in
diameter) is also available for $12.95. It creates micro fine bubbles and is great for
ozonating vegetables, water, bath, foot soak, etc. Call Superior Health Products or
your Authorized Distributor to order.
Fill an appropriate size receptacle with water. Put the diffuser into the water and
ozonate for about 2-5 minutes to saturate the water with ozone. Add the meat,
chicken seafood, utensils to the ozonating water and let them soak to about 5 mins.
Remove, rinse, cook or store. For dry foods use a glass jar or even a clean shoe box
for a loaf of bread. The diffuser is not needed for this application. Simply shimmy it out
of the tubing and just put the tube itself into the jar or box (being careful to keep it
from touching the food – keep the tubing clean). Ozonate for 5 to 10 mins.

There is an tube extension that comes with your PortaZone™ with a diffuser on the
one end and an adapter on the other. To use, remove the existing diffuser on the end
of the PortaZone™ tube then add the extension tube with its own diffuser on the end.
Place the diffuser into Olive oil and ozonate for 25 minutes. Do not use the same
diffuser for Olive Oil as you do for water. After ozonating the oil, rinse th ediffuser off
with hot water and store in a baggie in the refrigerator. You won’t get all the oil out so
don’t use that diffuser for water, keep it specifically for ozonating olive oil.
O3 Outlet – this is where the ozone comes out of the unit. You can connect the hose
here or use it without the hose to ozonate the air. (note: this unit is not intended as an air
purifier – only for a quick treatment of 60 mins or less, do not run continuously.
As a Hygenic Cleanser and Beauty Treatment

Ozone can be used to to re-vitalize the skin, to disinfect and deep cleanse problem
skin areas and skin conditions. Ozonate a glass of water for 5 to 10 mins. Use the
water to wash your face and hands adding a mild, natural soap if desired. Ozonated
water makes an excellent mouthwash and deordorizer.
For a rejuvenating bath, draw bath water in the normal manner. Place the unit a safe
distance from the bath and place the diffuser in water. Do not get in the tub with
unit running. Make sure area is well ventilated. Run the unit in the bath water for
approximately 15-25 minutes. Unplug the unit and remove it from the area. Enjoy
a luxurious, relaxing and oxygenated bath!
To do a foot soak , get small basin of warm water and palce in front of a chair. Place
the ozonator to one side of the basin far enough away so the hose is tawt. Ozonate
the water while your feet soak placing some plastic wrap or something on top of the
basin to keep the ozone from escaping. Always use in a well ventilated area.

Ventilation Slots – Make sure not to cover these slots or get any liquid or debris in
them. They allow the unit to breathe and keep cool.
Power Cord – Plus in the AC power cord prior to use. Unplug when not in use.
On/Off Timer Panel – Use this panel to turn the unit ON or OFF. See “Operating The
Storage & Travel Box – Use this box to store your PortaZone unit of when you need to
take it with you!
White ceramic diffuser/Air stone – One ceramic diffuser/air stone comes with your
unit. Clean after each use. Replace approximately every 3-4 months.
5’ Tubing – Your PortaZone comes with approx 5’ of ozone resistant tubing. It will need
changing about once a year. Call 800-700-1543 to order supplies.
Olive Oil Extension – Remove existing diffuser from your tubing and insert the Olive
Oil extention to ozonate Olive Oil. Keeps you existing hose and diffuser clean.
Flat Disc Diffuser – Disc diffuser stone made from fused alumina. Makes micro
bubbles, Great for ozonating vegetables, water, bath, foot soak, etc. 3.75” diameter. Call

ABOUT OZONE
OPERATING THE UNIT
Ozone (O3) is the triatomic form of oxygen (O2). It is oxygen in its most active
state and is an extremely potent oxidant that has been shown to possess
broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity. Ozone is not just another disinfectant.
Ozone is a true sterilant. It has the ability to destroy not only bacteria, but
also viruses, spores, fungus, mold, mildew, cysts, and many other
contaminants while at the same time removing dissolved organic materials by
oxidation. When used correctly ozone is one of the best methods of oxidizing
contaminants. Being an unstable gas, its life span is about 20 minutes,
depending on the temperature. After completing its job, it reverts back to
oxygen. This means ozone cannot be bottled, stored or shipped to the
consumer; it has to be produced on site.
The unit can be mounted on the wall or used laying flat.
Always have the unit higher than the item you are ozonating.
COMMON USES FOR OZONE
Disinfect & Sterilize Water
Follow these steps to use the PortaZone Ozonator:
• Always operate the unit in a safe and ventilated area.
• Do not directly breathe the ozone.
• When using to ozonate water, always place the unit higher than the water level in
order to prevent water from flowing backwards up into the tubing and possibly into the
unit causing malfunction. (similar to picture above)
• Unlike the picture above, place the item to be ozonated as far as the tubing will allow
from the unit. Because ozone is heavier than air, when it vents from the top of the
glass, it will fall to the countertop and creep along its surface. If the glass is close to
the unit, ozone gas may go back into the unit and shorten the life of the pump. So
always place the item to be ozonated as far away from the unit as possible.
• Connect the tubing to the “O3 Outlet on left front side of unit.
• Rinse the diffuser in warm water before using. Place the diffuser stone into the water
you want to ozonate.
• Plug in the unit to an AC outlet.
• Press any of the Timer buttons on the gray panel to choose 5 mins, 10 mins, 15
mins, 30 mins or 60 minutes of run time. The unit will automatically turn off after the
desired time. You can turn the unit off at any time simply by holding down any of the
buttons for about a second and releasing it. Unplug unit when not in use.

Ozone is 50% stronger as an oxidizer than chlorine! Many Municiplaities use ozone in
their water treatment process. Ozone can eradicate water borne parasites such
asGiardia lamblia andCryptosporidium. Ozone chemically attacks contaminants in
water (iron, arsenic, hydrogen sulfide, nitrites, and complex organics lumped together
as "color"). Many households with “well water” use ozone regularly to disinfect their
water supply.
Athough the water will remain sterilized for some time, the Ozone (O3) will only last in
the water for about 15 minutes and then convert back to oxygen (O2) so you may
choose to drink the water soon after making it.
Fill up a glass or jug of water, turn on the unit, place the diffuser down into the water
and let ozonate for about 3 minutes per 8 ounces or more if desired.
Wash Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
Ozone can kill yeast, mold and bacteria, reduce exposure to pesticide, herbicide,
fungicide, and fertilizer residues, reduce detergents, soaps, polishes, and waxy or
glossy coatings from produce. It will also improve the look and taste as well as extend
the shelf-life. A larger, disc diffuser (3.75” in diameter) is also available for $12.95. It
creates micro fine bubbles and is great for ozonating vegetables, water, bath, foot

Simply fill your sink, a large bowl or other container with clean water. Place the
container a comfortable distance from the PortaZone and preferably at a lower level
then the unit. Turn on the unit and place the diffuser into the water. Let the water
ozonate for about 2-3 mins, then add your fruits of vegetables and let them soak in
the ozonating water for another 5 minutes. Remove, rinse and store.
