The new law specifies several new acts of cybercrime. Among those who are not allowed or prohibited under the rule are “cybersex,” online child pornography, hacking, getting personal information, and spamming. The new law also increases the penalty for fake or false online information. Countless people don’t agree in this law because many people can be given a long-term jail punishment for just posting insulting or abusive comments online like posting something bad on some popular social networking site such as Facebook and Twitter etc. This law also helps most of the people like the young ones nowadays by teaching or making them learn good things than bad things online. Giving persona l information to strangers can affect youths that’s why the laws have been made to serve as a protection to most of the people. This law might be the answer to the public dreads. “Don’t forget advices are helpful, if nobody cares about someone, that someone can be harmed or mocked down by just a simple thing ,the cyberworld. These are the words from our former SSG adviser who never gets tired of reminding us as student leaders in our school. In other words, she would like to remind all student leaders to be responsible and sincere in whatever task that they will make. Being a student leader makes us responsible. It gives us something positive to do and at the same time, builds selfconfidence. Most students don’t have chance to be a student leader but everyone deserves that opportunity. Being a student leader gives a lot of positive things. At an early age, we are exposed to positive and negative things that will help us on how to deal with it. It makes us a better person as we make decisions on our own. Being a student leader enhances also our critical thinking skills for most of the time, Letters Editor Dear Editor, Gusto ko lang magpasalamat sa free water. Sana, may free food din. - water addict Dear water addict, Salamat sa iyong suhestiyon. Actually, sobra na siguro kung hihingi pa tayo ng free food. Pero kung may budget for that, why not? they are the ones who are involved in solving problems. Having these skills boost our selfesteem. Research shows that in a school setting, students who are student leaders are more confident compared to ordinary students. They try to play a big part for the school as they are considered to be the representatives and voices of the students. They seek advice from teachers in whatever problems they encounter. As a result, they become mature and responsible in whatever tasks they do. The nature of student councils may vary in each school. However, the character of being the voice of the youth makes the student leader to be more responsible and better in serving their fellow schoolmates. They play as a center of learning for most of the time, they are considered to be the role models in which it plays a big contribution for the school Dear Editor, We cannot play in the playground because the lower grades always occupy the swings and the seesaws. Can we add more equipment so that the playground will be more fun? - playful kid Dear playful kid, I think we cannot buy additional equipment because of the lack of budget and the playground is too small for additional equipment. - Editor Dear Editor, Napansin ko na malinis na ang canteen. Keep it up! Goodbye langaw! - Editor Dear Editor, - clean and green students Bakit maalat ang tubig sa CR? I cannot brush my teeth very well because the water tastes like rust. - concerned new student Dear concerned new student, Actually, the water came from ground water but since the school is located near the sea, the water is contaminated with salt water that’s why it’s salty. If you can, just bring your own water for brushing your teeth. - Editor Dear clean and green student, Thank you for your positive observation. We will keep it up and we hope you can help the canteen staff to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the canteen. - Editor 6 F EATURE T EN STUDY HABITS OF SUCCESSFUL PUP ILS 1. Plan specific times for studying. Schedule specific times throughout the week for your study time. 3. Try to study at the same time each day. When a scheduled study time comes up during the day, you will be mentally prepared to begin studying. 4. Set specific goals for your study times. Goals will help you stay focused and monitor your progress. 5. Start studying when planned. If you procrastinate for any reason, you will find it difficult to get everything done when you need to. Work on the assignment you find most difficult first. Start with your most difficult assignment since this is when you have the most mental energy. 7. An example of Iftar in another country Perhaps most of the Filipinos in the country are strange with this term, but to those who are connected with Turkish nationals they are surely familiar with this term which is annually observed during the holy month of Ramadan. Iftar is the meal which is eaten after sunset, the fasting which occurs during the month of Ramadan in Muslim tradition. Since people have not eaten at all during the day, they are often quite starving by the time Iftar comes around, and most people hasten to end the fast as quickly as possible after sunset. In communities with a large Muslim population, a cannon may be fired or other signal given to indicate the end of the day's fast, and the information may be broadcast over the media as well. For some people, this is considered as one of the most special moments since they all gather and eat together in one table and share some religious stories and experiences. It is common for people to eat Iftar in large groups, making the fast breaking into a community party, and Muslims often try to include charity in their Iftar meal as well, feeding needy members of the community while they celebrate the end of the day's fast. Soccer is a very popular sport. It’s also very popular in FTTS. Students both in elementary and high school are addicted to this game. Why should we play soccer? Here are seven reasons to play this sport. First, it’s a good exercise for the body. Soccer is in constant motion except when the ball goes out of bounds. This will build up your endurance. With all the running, it is a good cardiovascular work-out. Leg strength is also developed from both running and kicking the ball. Second, it promotes teamwork as it is a team sport. As with other sports, soccer will help develop you into more of a team player. Team playing on the field may extend off the field into other work, such as a classroom. Also soccer can be rewarding to be able to say that you were part of a group that reached an accomplishment together. FTTS in PSZCAA ‘12 by: Gay Moleño Third, it develops your concentration. When playing on the field, you have to be able to be constantly alert of what is going on. Being aware of where the ball is on the field, as well as where your players are on the field will help your concentration off the field. Fourth, it’s a stress-reliever. Kicking the ball around can be a form of therapy. It will take your mind off things while you are concentrating. Fifth, it’s a form of communication. Soccer isn’t all about running around the field kicking the ball. Soccer relies a lot on communication. Lastly, soccer is fun! Soccer is a good sport to gather your friends and just have some fun. It can also be a good challenge for people. What other sport relies entirely on your feet to win? This event was joined by different competitive schools in the said city. One of the schools who participated was the Filipino-Turkish Tolerance School. FTTS engaged in different games like soccer, chess and table tennis. There were 16 participants for soccer, 3 in chess and 2 in table tennis.
