Warm greetings!
We are artists and educators from PAGHILOM, a local initiative for inspir
a
renewal
of society
through
meaningful art production. We recognize the importance of art education in this cause, and so we seek to deepen
the public's appreciation and understanding of art through various activities,
We believe that artists should be active participants in this process, and as such, have come up with an art
education training and workshop for K-1-2 teachers that will involve our local artists. This training is a 3-day event
that aims to provide K-12 MAPEH teachers with valuable insights on culture, art education and art production, as
well as hone their creativity in teaching.
Carrying the theme "Malay Ko sa Malay: Kung Bakit Mokabuluhan ang Sining," this training will feature a series
of lectures and workshops, including actual art production and immersion with local artists from different fields.
We target to pilot this training on October 19-21,2076, al the Union Theological Seminary (UTS) in Dasmarifras,
Cavite.
ln this light, we humbly ask the Regional DepEd office to help us realize this project, by endorsing our art education
training to school divisions in the region and recommending the participation of K-12 MAPEH teachers.
Participants of this art education training will be asked a minimum amount of PHP 3,000.00 as registration fee,
which will cover food, materials and utilities.
This art training for K-12 teachers also serves as a major build-up activity to the main PAGHILOM event, a 3-day Art
Camp and Festival to be launched in Cavite in February 2017. PAGHILOM is a non-profit project of the Santahanan
Artist Residency program at the UTS organized by the Center for the Arts, Liturgy and Music (CALM), Artletics,
Museo De La Salle, Pito-pito Art Group, Siningdikato and the Cavite Studies Center.
Attached to this letter is the proposed program for the art education training and the concept paper of PAGHILOM
20!7. For questions and concerns, please contact Artletics lnc. at (046) 402 0572.
We think this art education training will greatly benefit teachers, especially in light of the recent changes in the
basic education curriculum due to the K12 program. We hope you kindly consider our proposal, and look forward
to your positive response.
Thank you very much for your time

Malay Ko sa Malay: Kung Bakit Makabuluhan ang Sining
lsong Seminar-Workshop so Pogtuturo ng Sining na may Pogpopahaloga so Kasarion at Lokol no Kulturo sa
pongunguno na PAGHILOM Network of Artists ond Educotors
kultura, lalo pa't ayon sa National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), may kahinaan ang ating
