Turn a New Leaf
Heavily wooded lots that make Paces
Farm beautiful also come with plentiful
leaves and branches. Blowing, bagging, raking, and even burning have been some of
the solutions residents have used to rid their
properties of this overabundance of foliage.
Colder months also are the best time
to prune shrubs and trees while dormant.
Lower branches on many of our maturing
oak and maple trees should be removed to
help trees focus energy into growth of the
upper canopy which encourages height.
So how can you dispose of trimmed
branches and fallen leaves? Cobb County has
adopted state-regulated burn ban ordinance
that runs from May 1 – Sept. 30. However,
controlled burning is allowed October 1 –
April 30 of each year. During this time, you
may burn limited yard debris with restrictions that can be found on the Fire Marshal’s
page of the Cobb County website at http://
portal.cobbcountyga.gov. Burning in controlled
areas such as outdoor fire pits is permitted
year-round. The county vegetative waste recovery center on County Services Pkwy. will
also accept yard debris for a fee.
Improvements Planned,
Committees Open
2013 has been a productive year in
Paces Farm. Many of the plans for
improvements set in years past have
come to fruition. The pool resurfacing was completed as well as heavy
pruning on shrubs and small trees
on both sides of the fence. Many dead
trees and shrubs will be replaced in
coming months and the entry fencing and arbor will be restained.
In addition, two decorative iron
signs posts were purchased and installed at the entrance. We will be
replacing all sign posts over time to
disperse the costs. This is a significant
cosmetic improvement to enhance
the quality and look of our neighborhood streets.

The Board would like to thank
all current committee staff for a
successful year of events and service.
We have a few vacant committee
seats such as pool co-chair and social
event hosts. If you are interested in
serving in these or any other committees, please let the Board know.
More information about additional
vacant positions will be given at the
annual meeting in January, 2014.
The agenda for the Annual HOA
meeting will be full and we will be
electing two new board members.

Covenant Corner
W
ith Paces Farm now becoming an established neighborhood, it is a critical time in the life of
our community. It is important that all residents continue to keep up with the covenants and
design standards that were agreed to upon the purchase of your home. With each homeowner
doing their part, Paces Farm will continue to be a premier subdivision in west Cobb.
The job of All-in-One Management is to be diligent in alerting homeowners of any covenant
violations. The Board would like to share a few of the most common items flagged so that it
may help you be aware and proactive.
With the growth of many families, more vehicles may be added for teen drivers. Please
remember that all cars must be stored in garages overnight unless you have more than three
vehicles. Also, if you need to park a car in the pool parking lot for a specific amount of time,
you can submit the necessary paperwork found on the website so that it will not be towed.
The excess rain from this past summer has brought weeds and overgrowth. Remember to kill
weeds in beds, treat lawns, and prepare for spring with pre-emergent.
Residents have been very responsive with mailbox, tin roof, and exterior painting requests.
Also, please don’t forget to put trash cans out of sight during the week.

fitness professional for 18 years and owned
her own 1,000 member gym in Pennsylvania,
instructed group fitness, kick boxing, spin
classes, conducted nutritional seminars across
the country, and was a nationally ranked
competitive body builder. She specializes in
personal training, nutritional analysis, weight
management, meal preparation, weight training techniques, and time management, while
empowering the individual to succeed.
Tricia and Steve moved to Paces Farm 2H
years ago and have two children; Brad, 22,
studying finance at KSU, and Chelsea, 25, a 7th
and 8th grade science teacher in New York City.

lease welcome Thomas and Pam Najjar to
the neighborhood along with their four
children – Josh (11), Juliet (9), Matthew (7),
and Sam (6). Kevin and Teresa Laskey with 5
year-old twin sons, William and Benjamin, also
have recently become new residents to Paces
Farm. In addition, Nick and Lindsay Smith will
be closing on their home soon with children
Henry (3), and Nola Jane (almost 2).
Three more babies were born to Paces Farm
families this summer. Ryan and Jennifer Ellis
welcomed baby Easton in May. Baby Owen
joined Jason and Kristi Motter’s family in
June, and Al and Leah Sicat brought baby
Matthew home in July.
The Board would like to thank the social
committee and volunteers for their help and
planning of each of the events and social
groups throughout the year. We look forward to meeting all of these new families at
the next Paces Farm gathering!
