St. Luke Vacation Bible School ~ 2016
St. Luke VBS concluded Friday, May 27th. Themed, Saint’s Camp: How
to be a Champion for Christ, included Music, Art, Scripture, Science, Snack, & Eucharistic Adoration and kept our 150 attendees and 65 plus student and parent volunteers
busy.
A special thanks goes out to Shelley Becnel for her thoughtful planning and coordination. We appreciate the volunteers for their time and talent and the parents for
sharing their children with us. May we all work hard to be in that number (God’s
Team), "when the Saints go marching in…"
Children’s Liturgy will not be held
over the summer. Consult the bulletin and announcements for the return of Children’s Liturgy in the fall.

The annual Columbian Squires and Columbian
Squire Roses Convention was held at St. Luke’s last
weekend. The three day event elected new State Officers, chose new events to do this year and announced its yearly awards. Between all the business,
elections and meals, a break was taken for field activities. Field events included two bounce houses,
cotton candy, and a dunking booth in which the St.
Luke’s Chief Counselor, Chris Pericone, was dunked
a number of times to the cheers of the 70 youth and
adults present. The field events concluded with an
epic water balloon fight!
The St. Luke Squires Circle was honored with four
awards.
First, they were awarded first Prize for Choice Project
of the Year for collecting over $2300.00 dollars for the
Relief Fund of Persecuted Christians in the Middle
East.
The Squires also won First Place for Squires Circle
of the year.
Andrew Callaway was honored with the Eric Bergman
Memorial Chief Squire of the Year Award.
Chris Pericone received the Charles Miceli Memorial
Counselor of the Year Award.
