Cazenovia Artisans February Events
We will be hosting an opening for Janet Ambrose, SU textile professor, alpaca farmer,
and knitter on Friday February 7th from 5 to 8 p.m.
She will be doing spinning demonstrations in our gallery Saturday February 8th, 15th
and 22nd from 2 to 5 p.m.
Her scarves will be available for sale throughout the month at Cazenovia Artisans.

Congratulations to the 800 Runners in 12 degree temps on Jan 26th
And to Dave’s Diner Voted for the Best Chili
The Chamber held its State of the Area Dinner Meeting Janury 22nd at Dave’s Diner with the following speakers: Tracie Carmen delivering David Velesky’s speech as he was unable to attend. Bill
Magee was called into session but sent his speech which was read by Jessica.
Bob Dubik, Cazenovia Central School Superintendent, gave a summary of this past year at our schools
and covered all of the academic as well as sports highlights. Bill Zupan Cazenovia Town Supervisor
talked of the towns past year and future plans. Dave Jones, Fenner Supervisor had an emergency and
was not able to attend but sent his speech to the Chamber which we will share. Roger Bradstreet, Nelson Supervisor spoke on his plans for economic growth in Nelson for this next year and said that 9900
vehicles pass thru Nelson on Rt 20 every day. Wayne Westervelt from Cazenovia College shared how
the class graduating this year has 120 students and the Freshman class for this year has 390 students.
The college has added several new programs and improvements over the past year and will continue to
do so. Our last guest speaker was Kurt Wheeler our Village Mayor that shared a look ahead at the future of Cazenovia and all that it has planned out very carefully to not lose the ambiance of the Village.
Our meeting was led by our newly elected President of the Board Jessica Amidon who opened the
meeting; after a lovely dinner prepared by Bill Tilison of Dave’s Diner, with the Pledge to the Flag by
our Past Chairman of the Board, Gene Gissin. Jessica then present Gene with a Certificate and gifts
for his three years of service as Chairman of the Chamber.

NEWS UPDATE— Cazenovia Public Library –Imagination Library Project
“The Little Engine that Could” is on its way to 82 children in the Cazenovia area.
Over 300 have signed up and will be receiving books in Madison Co.
From the Dolly Parton “Imagination Library” project that provides books from
birth to 5 year olds each month.
The last book is “Look Out Kindergarten Here I Come”
