Watch the Yahoo discussion forum and website for final information. December: • 1/4 cup baking soda • 1 T. liquid dish soap Wet your dog (remember to NOT bring the dog in the house first!). Mix all ingredients in a large plastic bowl. Thoroughly coat your dog with the mix. Let the solution 5th and 6th: Greater Clark County KC Show at the Clark County Fairgrounds 12th: Club Holiday Party 11-3pm, location TBD sit on your dog for at least 5 min, be very careful to January: keep the goo out of his/her eyes. Rinse completely. Repeat as necessary. This one WORKS. The soap breaks down the oils in the skunk stink, and the baking soda & peroxide neutralize the odor. 16-18th: Puyallup Dog Show and General Club meeting 22-25th: Rose City Classic, Portland, OR President’s Message Hello Swissy Friends, I hope you all enjoyed a great summer this year. It was sure warm enough. As much as I like the warm days I think my dogs are all ready to say goodbye to the hot summer and hello to nice, cool, comfortable fall and winter. The club has been involved in many activities this summer starting with the BBQ in June. The weather was perfect for us this year for the BBQ. We had a nice turnout of members with a lot of good food and beautiful swissies. We also had a first ever ice cream social and draft clinic in August. Tim Perciful was in charge of the draft clinic. There were different carts & wagons and harnesses for all the dogs to try. Tim had all of the dogs and their owners working together learning the art of drafting. Our club took part in the 2nd annual MRWDC show and breed booths in August. Jim & Julie Franklin were in charge of the booth again this year and did another wonderful job. Thanks to both Jim & Julie and to the volunteers that helped man the booth. Our Specialty has come and gone and as always was a great success. Special “Thanks” go to Bonnie Huett for offering to chair this year’s specialty. She did a marvelous job. Thank you also goes out to all of her helpers that were involved in putting this show on .Everyone did a great job. We will be looking for a chair person for next year’s 2010 specialty so please don’t be shy, let us know if you want to be a part of next year’s show. With winter comes the holidays and our fun Christmas party. We need to get one of you nice folks to volunteer to help us put the Christmas party together. I know one of you members out there want to get more involved with the club & this is the perfect place to start. It takes very minimal time to organize this party so please won’t you offer to lend a hand. I am sorry to always be begging for volunteers but we really do need all of you to help. In a big or small way we appreciate anything you are willing to do. Without more members stepping up to help with these fun activities we may need to cut back on some of them. I want to thank Julie & Jeremy Gray for offering to be the editors of the E-Summit. I’m very excited to see the new newsletter. Help these great people out by submitting stories, info, pictures or whatever to [email protected]. I hope you all enjoy the upcoming holidays this year. If you haven’t paid your dues yet, please remember to do so! A WELL-DESERVED THANK YOU I'd like to take this opportunity to say a well-deserved thank you to Bonnie Huett and her crack Show Committee team, for all the time and effort it took to pull off 2 Specialties in one day, plus a Supported Entry the following day. It was a daunting job, and barring a few very minor, momentary set-backs (which we can all look back on and laugh about - NOW), went off without a hitch. I don't think anyone, who hasn't done anything like this, can possible know how many hours, days and months it takes to bring something like this together, and I think we owe everyone involved, including the officers and board members of the Cascade Club, a debt of thanks for giving us their time. So thank you all, on behalf of the Cascade Club, for all you do.
