December 2014
Well December is here, Christmas is near and many changes in
the air. My reign is done and it was fun, enjoyed it all thanks to
you all. Keep our club growing strong and help us all to get
along. The joyous season is here again and let's remember we
are all friends. Keep in mind the one's we have lost, remember
they have gone aloft, pray for their families during this happy
but sad time without their loved one's. Keep the Lord in front
of all and surely we will never fall.
Remember we all have a special bond, our love of cars and
children and people less fortunate. All that is written may not
rhyme but keep in mind this wonderful time and land that we
live in and our freedom to worship and know , "Jesus is the
Reason for the Season"
Always pray for our military that serves our country away from
home especially during this special season. Also remember our
local law enforcement that must work this special time of the
year.
Special thanks to Celia for untold hours on the Garage Gossip
alive and well, her efforts are appreciated.
Have a blessed holiday season.
Jerry

Committee Reports:
Treasurer’s Report: Presented at the meeting was
the totals that we have in our Checking and Savings
accounts. Derrell Billingsley, of the Swap Meet
Committee, asked about checks he needed for the Swap
Meet.
Activities Report by Celia Murrah: First, I
wanted to recognize Dennis and Michele Boles for their
donation of the lighted Christmas Village set, that they
donated to our car club. It is on display for the Christmas
Season, and for Christmas at Cannonsburgh.
Christmas at Cannonsburgh is this Saturday, December
6th from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m., and our Garage/Museum will
be open for visitors to the Village.1) I asked for members
to come help clean up the garage, and help put up some
decorations on the outside of our clubhouse; and 2) I also
asked members to sign-up to come and service as hosts
to the guests coming for the event.
If members forgot to bring their un-wrapped toys for our
‘Toy Drive’ for the Fire Department. They could bring
them to the clubhouse on Saturday the 6th, while our
garage would be open for Christmas at Cannonsburgh.
THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
From the Newsletter Editor: Celia Murrah
JERRY
I have turned my resignation to the Board as editor of
our monthly newsletter, and December will be my last
edition. I want to thank the car club for allowing me
to serve as editor for these last 8 years.
Committee Reports-Continued:
Garage Forman Ron Merritt: He wanted to remind everyone about ‘Christmas at Cannonsburgh’, and
sign-up to help if you can.
Swap Meet Committee Member-Richard Lewis: He reminded us, that there are plenty of positions
that need club members to work at during our Swap Meet. Sign-up sheets were available at the meeting for
everyone to volunteer to help in the different areas.
There will be a Swap Meet Committee meeting announced. So we will have all the details and
positions filled for the event.
New Business: Jerry Byrd said that he has gotten the okay from the leadership at Oakland’s Mansion for
our club to host a ‘Once a Month Cruise-In’ at the Mansion. We will work with other car club’s in the
community to schedule a time for these cruise-in’s. So, we will not have these cruise-in’s scheduled on the
same date or dates during the month.
