Hello, my name is Kennedy Ichura and I am 14 years old.
I live in Thunguma, Nyeri Town in Kenya.
Tell about yourself or your family:
I live in a children’s Centre called Children and Youth Empowerment Centre (CYEC) in
Thunguma which is a rehabilitation and rescue centre for street, orphan and vulnerable children. My mother died
and I have a father and four brothers who live in one of the rural areas in the outskirts of Nyeri town.
Tell about your Awana Club. What day do you go to club? What do you enjoy doing most at Awana? Our Awana
Club takes place in the Children’s Centre. It runs on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. I enjoy
memorizing Bible verses and learning about the Bible in the Council Time.
Which improvement have you made since you started attending Awana Club?
I have known how to follow Jesus Christ by trusting Him as my personal Saviour and also live peacefully with other
people and my fellow age-mates.
What is one Bible verse you have learned in Awana?
Philippians 4:4: “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again; Rejoice”.
It encourages me to praise God always no matter the circumstance.

My name is Maria Leonard. From Mbeya Tanzania.
I did not know the true God. My parents were teaching me to put my hope in God and I started attending
Awana club. My favorable segment was hand book time. Now I love God because he have saved me from
the bondage of sin and lead me to his light.
At first I was not able to understand Awana games at my club, but now I understand and play all games
successfully. I also thank God because he have given me the talent of singing .
But I also thank God for saving both of my parents, my mother was sick nearly to die but God healed her
and she is now okay.

Hello, my name is Lucy David from Tanzania.
I thank God because I was born in the Christian family. But I was just going to church without putting my hope
in Jesus as my savior. I was doing bad things without fearing God. Devil was using me whatever he wanted.
But after believing in Jesus, the Holy Spirit came in me and started helping me to please and do the will of
God. And my Awana club encouraged me to attend every week and now I love to learn the Word of God and I
love God who loves me and he is my help all the time.

Hi, my name is Angel Montania and I’m 13 years old. I’m in 7th grade and I go to 14 De Mayo school. I live in
Paraguay.
I want to tell you something great that happened at my Awana Club is that… I go to church every Saturday and
I hang out with the boys and girls that go to the Awana Community Center.
Also I like to earn prizes when I learn verses. My family tells me that I’m a miracle from God because at a very
young age I had a disease in my bones that didn’t allow me to grow properly. One day my parents took me to
