Pack mineral wool Leave 25mm depth for applying CP 611A. Apply CP 611A Apply to the CP 611A to a depth of 25mm. Making sure CP 611A contacts all surfaces to provide maximum adhesion. Smooth CP 611A Smooth before the skin forms using water and a spatula. Leave completed seal undisturbed for 48 hours. Install Label For maintenance reasons, a penetration seal could be permanently marked with an installation plate. Special Seal Type Special seal types with additional sealant CP 611A along the cables/conduits or putty bandage CFS-P BA may be required see technical data or RIR. Minimum distances in mm (see Figure 1: Distance requirements) s1 = 0 (distance between single cable and edge of seal) s1 = 10 (distance between tied cable bundle/conduit and edge of seal) s2 = 40 (distance between services) Figure 1: Distance requirements Maximum cable bundle size = 130mm Aperture beading details for walls and floors The penetration seal depth (tA) is required to be 100mm for a wall and 120mm for floors irrespective of the thickness of the wall or floor (tE). For walls or floors with a thickness of less than these values a beading shall be used. Beading: 13mm or 16mm fire rated plasterboard strips at least 100mm wide are installed around the opening with the necessary number of layers to form a frame on the top side of a floor, or two frames of the same height on both sides of a wall. The beading must be fixed by min 2 metal fasteners per plasterboard strip with a maximum distance of 150mm between the fixings. Use Hilti HUS 6, HUS-P or DBZ on rigid walls and HSP on plasterboard walls. Alternatively, follow instructions by the plasterboard system manufacturer. The intended use of the Hilti Firestop Intumescent Sealant CP 611A is to reinstate the fire resistance performance of: Plasterboard wall, top section in figures (E) The wall must have a minimum thickness of 100 mm (tE) and comprise of timber or steel studs lined on both faces and be tested achieve a FRR / FRL of -/120/120 or 120/120/120 with or without cavity insulation. Wall systems lined with 1 layer of 13mm thick fire grade plasterboard with or without cavity insulation and tested or assessed to achieve an FRR / FRL of -/60/60 or 60/60/60 shall have a beading around aperture as described on page 4. Rigid walls, bottom sections in figures (E) The bare wall must have a minimum thickness of 75mm and comprise of concrete, aerated concrete or solid or hollow masonry with a minimum density of 550kg/m3. If the bare wall is less than 100mm thick build-up shall be applied as discribed on page 4. Maximum Opening size and services load Maximum opening size 150mm x 150mm or 170mm, and 60% of the seal area can include penetrations. Seal thickness ≥ 100mm (tA).
