Raising a family in our community brings with it some amazing opportunities.
Whitley County wants you to connect with what is happening around the area.
Residents can do so by registering with the new Nixle Community Information

sent directly to you via text, email or web message. Notifications can also be

The service – a collaboration between Whitley County Dispatch, Emergency

South Whitley – is secure, reliable and easy for Whitley County to use. You
decide what information you want and the manner in which you wish to
receive it. The notifications directly impacting your neighborhood or area may

Nurse Notes
Due to the state
requirement for incoming
2015-2016 seniors, the
Whitley County Health
Department will have an
immunization clinic here
at CCHS & ETA on
Tuesday April 28, 2015.
More information and
paperwork will be
available in January 2015.
The meningococcal booster for students in Grades 11 and 12 are strongly recommended by
the ISDH in anticipation of inclusion with school entry requirements for the 2014/2015
school year. This means all 11th and 12th graders will need two (2) meningitis injections for
the 2014/2015 school year.
Whitley County Schools offer Tylenol (50 tablets) and Ibuprofen (25 tablets) available for
purchase for your child for the cost of $1.00 each. If you have any questions or concerns,
please call the School Nurse at 260.244.6136, ext. 3215.
Infection Prevention of any kind equals good health practices:
Covering your cough & sneezes;
Frequent hand washing;
Staying home if you are ill; and
getting a flu shot!

(CCHS 2014/2015 Student Handbook—page 17)
“Vulgar, lewd, or obscene language, gestures, and clothing disruptive to the educational process (this includes alcohol,
tobacco, or drug related clothing) have no place in an educational environment. Students of CCHS are expected to abide by
the following:
—No bare midriff
—No cleavage (top or bottom)
—No “spaghetti strap” or “string” tops
—No “nightwear” or underwear worn as a replacement for outerwear
—No hats or hoods in school
—No holes in any part of the clothing above the knee
—No chains hanging from clothing
—No gloves or hand wear
—Sayings, words or pictures on clothing must be appropriate for the school environment.
Length of shorts and skirts—appropriate as deemed by administration—good rule of thumb—longer than fingertips when
arms are placed at student’s sides. A student’s shirt will be deemed inappropriate if the neckline of the shirt is below
hand-width from the clavicle.”
