Cunlhat
This is a legendary spot in the world of motorcycles,
which saw hordes of Harley-Davidsons arrive for
the Free Wheels festival from 1989 to 2000 and
continues to attract enthusiasts of the famous
Milwaukee ride. Some immortal traces can still be
found of an extraordinary event in an improbable
place.
Courpière
If you are in need of some refreshment, treat
yourself to a dip in Lac d’Aubusson d’Auvergne, a
lake not far from the picturesque town of Courpière,
signposted at the 1st roundabout as you enter the
town via this route. Well worth the detour.

Thiers
The European capital of cutlery production is
perched high on a rocky outpost. Thiers is a town
full of contrasts, a balance between tradition
and change, between medieval houses and
contemporary design. What’s more, it offers
unforgettable views over the Limagne plain and the
Puy mountain range, the highest-quality artisanal
produce, and a diverse range of cultural events.
Couteau Le Thiers: The famous knife that bears
the name of this town is the fruit of shared efforts
by local cutlery producers. It is a reflection of the
ancestral know-how in this long-standing industry,
which, now more than ever, is proudly preserved
by the engaging artisans who make it what it is.
What to see:
Musée de la Coutellerie: for everything you ever
wanted to know about the 600-year-old history
of cutlery. This museum houses an astonishing
collection of knives, and organises workshops to
initiate visitors in the art of cutlery production.
